I think you can make a half a dozen vids featuring this 6X6. I learned to drive one in Germany in 1990. They are amazing---and beautiful beasts. And yes, you can go places where a lot of other off-roaders can't. P.S. I was born on Ft. Riley.

During World War II Holden was making the 6x6 Blitz, and back in the 1960’s/70’s there were some of them left in North Queensland used by logging contractors. A friend of mine’s family owned one and I remember a drunken night finding out just how steep an incline it could get up. I have never since seen any vehicle that could climb seemingly impossible slopes like that old blitz could. 6x6 is awesome.
I served on a rural fire department in Arizona that had an old 1970 Kaiser M44 tanker deuce converted to a water tender firetruck. It would do 45 mph down the road and 45 mph across the open desert with 2000 gallons of water on the back!!! Had a call for a fire out in the desert many miles from the end of the pavement. I was blasting through the desert just as fast as we went down the highway. LOVED that truck!!!
New to the channel, awesome to see this truck running. There are still a few 5ton work horses still in active duty. Have one from my last unit built in 1985 and still running. Fixing the mechanical fuel pump on these things is hell! Trying to get all the air out of each valve and the timing just right is my personal purgatory!
lol that kansas mountain is just another neighborhood in western PA, its crazy how all these towns started on the river just for towns to travel up hills and roads to be made through the woods to connect it all

I will admit, that is some rough terrain. On my grandparent's property we have some that's even worse. It is also in Kansas, and there are 3 major paths that would get that thing stuck. One goes through a creek and goes up at a 50 degree incline while also being tilted to the side with tons of rocks trying to throw you off it. When it rained and you try to go up that hill, you sir have a death wish. The other two are not as bad however one is a 15 degree (or more) tilt to the right which could probably flip that. Anyways, amazing video!
Very beautiful area. At this place if you build a house, you can enjoy the view from sunrise to sunset for a long time! And on this truck you can put additional equipment.
When lived in Plainville I worked in the oil patch. There were a couple roads in Rooks County on the Saline river that were a bear to climb with my pulling unit. Some of them were oil lease roads that were tricky. But there was a county road that went north of the river towards Codell. One day i was climbing the hill called King Hill in my old GMC with a gas V8. I got partway up the steep hill and the truck decided to blow up. So we had to leave it on the side of the road until a tow rig could tow it out.
