  • No sound, sorry! (Or...Yea!...for people who like silence while they watch videos) I tried out a new vehicle to blow air in this video thanks to a fellow ink artist (check out her TH-cam channel for pretty ink painting tutorials: Lorrie Brewer). Thanks Lorrie! While I loved using this new source of air, I didn’t realize how big the tool would be in a video! If I use this in future videos I may need to use a different angle, lol...so you can actually see my painting in progress! On to the details: For air I used the Revlon Perfect Style barrel blowdryer without the attachment, on cool. Artists Loft Alcohol ink markers from Micheal’s. Pacon plastic art sheets for substrate...they come in 11X17, I cut down to 8-1/2x11. First time using this product and I loved it!! Very similar to Creatology, which I use normally. Of course, what painting (of mine anyway) would be complete without some Piñata gold and 99% isopropyl alcohol. I get asked a lot about why I put my gold down with my palette knife instead of a drop from the bottle. I just prefer to put a small amount in...that I control...sometimes even a drop is too much. Lol. Hope you enjoy the video, questions are always welcome!

    Thats beautiful. I'm new at AI and I think using markers would be a better idea for me to learn. I love this technique using markers. You can actually draw your art first then blow out. Awesome!

    Never thought to use my Copics like this! Why don't you use the alcohol mixatives? Do they interact differently? The Alloy from Tim Holtz look interesting, they tend to clump together like this gold too.

    I love your art. You are so talented. I find the alcohol inks very difficult. But, I’ve done a few nice pieces on Pacon paper and want to adhere them to wood cradle board panels. Have you glued your pieces to wood - and if so is there an adhesive you recommend? I tried the soft gel gloss by Golden which I guess works for yupo, but my Pacon just popped off after drying. 😕 Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thx. 😊 And please keep making videos!

    It’s just amazing.. I love it. I’m wondering what the Golding colour that you used called?

    Wow this is amazing! I want to try it in one of my next videos! Is the pacon paper glossy material? Would it work on watercolor paper or does it need to be a glossy paper?

    • @lisajordan7704

      Rachel Fisk Hi Rachel, the Pacon is plastic. Alcohol inks need a non porous surface to move around...watercolor paper will just suck the inks right up, lol!

      @CricutMakerCraft 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lisajordan7704 that's what I figured. I'll have to pick some up because it's worth it to make something like that!

      Can you cover a regular canvas with Kilz 2 latex to make it non porous?

    This is stunning. You do amazing work. I finally tried to add the piñata brass yesterday... and it didn’t go well, even when I put in just a tiny bit off a toothpick. It didn’t go along the edge like yours does but sank and spread out.. looked very muddy. What’s the trick to having it just along the edges? I think it looks so very much better your way than just added after so I really want to figure this out. 🤔 Thx!

      I want to know the trick too! It has to be something else added to it but knowing will share 😑

    Stunning!!! If you use the markers on Yupo is it going to stain??? Whe don't have a Micheal's in The Netherlands so Pacon plastic is not available here...

    • @lisajordan7704
      @lisajordan7704  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Juul Yes, Yupo will stain! I got the Pacon art sheets on Amazon. Is that available to you? Or is it crazy shipping costs?!! There’s a product called Grafix plastic paper that I haven’t tried yet but have heard it wipes clean.

      @@lisajordan7704 Thank you so much!! I know Grafix and i'm waiting for it to ship to The Netherlands...So i'm going to try...Pacon Art is a little bit expencive...I don't like Yupo because it's staining so much if you want to do a wispy it's not nice...And i like your style off working with the markers so i want to give that a try to...Thanks so much for your answer!!

      What is the metal tip bottle you use for your alcohol?... I've seen several people using them.

      Erika Nessa Moss I’ve seen many people say they buy them on Amazon. I use a glue bottle that I bought at Joann’s that had a the small tip...just emptied the glue, lol! It seems like buying it empty is a better idea!
