    Thank you for demonstrating your technique and work! I still struggle to find a happy balance with using the metallics, since I seem to get more of the super fine particles instead of the larger metallic pieces (even with shaking the bottle prior), and the finer particles muddy-up and ruin the underlying colors too much. Any tips?

    Beautiful work......Seriously beautiful..........I began working in AI years ago and struggled with the art of it. I had the craft down but the tools were minimal and the instruction nil. You put the art back into AI..........Not many people truly can. I may end up giving it a shot again, thanks to you. Nothing is as satisfying as a beautiful piece of yourself gifted to others. That's what art is, an offering........Now a question, have you tried the new Kelpie brand out of Ireland? I too used Copic, but it was so expensive.

    when you get close to the alcohol doesn't make you feel strange? I'm working with 99 and makes me feel a bit weird.

    • @lauraandrews8072
      @lauraandrews8072 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, if you were to follow the safety precautions, all the artists would be wearing a ventilator mask. But who does that lol. So, at least chose a well ventilated room, window open and (as I don't have a ventilator mask), a fan directed to cross my face and out the window. Don't be breathing in any of these alcohol products.
      Markers, inks, or iso 99, or 91.

    I tried this today for the first time. And I found the original drop of ink started to dry and stained the yupo between dropping it, adding the metallic and the isopropyl, is that normal? Or is it my ink (ranger)

    • @astuaryart2335
      @astuaryart2335  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! That is normal. Ranger stains more frequently and more intensely than other brands.

      @@astuaryart2335 well the very first thing that popped into my head was, you blowing the inks, isn't that going to hurt your lungs in the long run? Breathing in that alcohol? Is there any reason you don't use a straw or hair dryer?

    • @safi456
      @safi456 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@astuaryart2335 Also, why a heat gun and not a hair dryer? Doesnt the heat gun start to burn the paper? I find my heat gun is super hot and even starts smoking and smelling, I'm afraid to get it anywhere near the alcohol inks in case it all blows up!

    • @astuaryart2335
      @astuaryart2335  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No need! I work in a well ventilated area

    • @astuaryart2335
      @astuaryart2335  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find hair dryers to be too powerful. When I use my heat gun, im very cautious about the distance from the paper, and I keep it on a low setting. Once you see your paper warp or ink start to bubble, that's a good sign that you need to take it easy with the heat

    Some things are made more complicated than they actually are and some things too repetitive, gets confusing. You do a great job doing it yourself but it's not as complicated as you explain it. Maybe it's just me, hard to follow
