Alcohol Ink Infinity Palette Roses Tutorial (#9)
No sound! Sorry! Here is a process video on making loose, romantic, Infinity Palette Roses. The fun part of this technique is making your flowers utilizing whatever palette you lay down as a background. I start by simply scribbling my alcohol ink markers on a 6x6” tile. While it looks like a mess, there is actually some strategy, lol. Here I wanted a border of greens and a variety of pinks/purple/orange in the center to build my roses. I take 99% isopropyl alcohol in a sprayer and douse my tile, turning my marker into inks. Magic! I use a blow dryer to move the inks around, repeating this process a gazillion (more or less, lol) times until I see a background palette emerging that makes me happy. You want to make sure that you don’t make muddy colors by blending too much! I have a small needle tip bottle of alcohol that I use to drop alcohol on the area that I want my first rose. My airbrush (Masters Touch TC-20) is set at around 25-30 PSI. I did a closeup of the first rose to show how I’m just kind of encircling my puddle, moving out the liquid in irregular circles as it drys to give the illusion of loose layers of petals. When I get to the center I want a tighter, more defined look to show depth. To do that, I maintain a more consistent circular motion, continuing that until the alcohol is dry. I hold my airbrush very, very, close to the tile...but always on the outside of the puddle that I’m controlling. I hope that makes sense!! After I finish my three main roses I added two smaller, tighter, circles to imitate (kind of) rose buds. If you have any questions, please feel free to add in the comments area!

No sound...so here is the lowdown...Ranger Alcohol inks, Eggplant & Butterscotch, two of my favs that I have been ignoring lately! I used the fabulous Piñata Brass, of course. This is on a 11’ X17’ Pacon acid free plastic art sheet. I am in love with this substrate, works well with ink straight from the bottle, as well as AI markers. Doesn’t stain like Yupo does. For air I used the Revlon ceram...

You know the drill...no sound, may cause drowsiness, lol....you may already know the details too, but just in case....I used Artist Loft Alcohol Ink markers with 99% isopropyl alcohol on Creatology plastic poster paper, using a Revlon Ceramic Hot Brush without the attachments (!) for air. I am in love with the colors in this one, primarily Concord Grape and Praline. They just come together so w...

No sound, sorry! (Or...Yea!...for people who like silence while they watch videos) I tried out a new vehicle to blow air in this video thanks to a fellow ink artist (check out her TH-cam channel for pretty ink painting tutorials: Lorrie Brewer). Thanks Lorrie! While I loved using this new source of air, I didn’t realize how big the tool would be in a video! If I use this in future videos I may ...

A whimsical abstract alcohol ink painting...using markers to lay my ink down. I really love how much control they give me, especially in a medium like ink where the word control is not often used. They really have a mind of their own! Since I don’t talk over my videos here are some details about what I used....Artist Loft Alcohol Ink markers, Creatology plastic poster paper, 99% isopropyl alcoh...

(Video has no sound). Yes...this really is a video of just lines of alcohol ink painted on a tile! Sound exciting? Well, it truly is not, but I have had requests on Instagram to do a tutorial of one I posted there a few weeks ago. It’s so simple but it’s easier to understand if you actually see it done. I like the end result, which has a kind of 3-D ripple look. This video is about as entertain...

My first TH-cam video! Sure, it’s not centered, it doesn’t have sound, and my hand seems to be the focus.... well, I’m sharing it anyway! If I didn’t sell you on watching this video yet, lol, let me add that it’s 30 mind numbing minutes that only a hardcore alcohol ink enthusiast could possibly enjoy. In the future I plan to narrate/explain any process videos I make...this is a test to familiar...
