@@3bomb Rerendering just to change color wasn't necessary, you can just copy the animation sequence and thne use find and replace to change colors. Also I totally think Action Script could do this on the go.
(Damn, I'm glad I never invested my time into Action Script. Those poor Action Script devs, they didn't know what was coming)
For what it's worth, I've never heard of this guy or watched anything club penguin on TH-cam, but this was the 3rd video on my homepage today. Absolute gem.

This explains why it was SUCH a big deal to them in retrospect to add another color of penguin. I remember how annoyed everyone was that there weren't more colors, me included, but after hearing how they made them I'm extremely impressed they had that many at all.
If you ever update this game you should add shadows to the penguins so they feel more grounded in the environment. Also congrats on being picked up by the algorithm!

The montage of you working on those backgrounds with the classical music playing, I've never felt something resonate so deeply within my very soul. It didn't just make me laugh, it perfectly encapsulates the effort, the determination, the pain that comes with any kind of large digital illustration project that ends up taking days, weeks, even months. But when it's finished and you can finally lean back, rub your eyes and stretch your weary bones it's beautiful, it was all worth it, even if nobody but a very small group of like minded folks understand and you'd never even begin to explain it to your family.
You did it, you managed to portray that yes, even shitposts take an impressive amount of determination. GG my man.
As someone who just quit his job at subway, your minigame is so fucking accurate. Especially the part where they get comically large angry eyebrows and scream insults after you didnt make their sandwich in 5 seconds or give them enough mayonnaise.

This is one of the best videos I have seen in a while, not even kidding! How is this channel so small? This looks like so much work! You should at least make a few million with this video in my opinion...
its really simple: youtube has moved away from "real" content- to a mixture of "mass produced" and "poor quality" content, it doesn't matter if you make high quality 20 minute videos every few weeks or months, they're more likely to give attention to someone who makes 5-20 second ~vines~ youtube shorts several times a day.

The top down combat gameplay reminds me a lot like enter the gungeon with the dodge rolling move!
Honestly I feel like if you had the time and energy, you could make this into a roguelike game\top down exploration game with this sort of combat, because it works really well!
I learned a lot doing this project, I definitely want to mess around with top down 3D player controllers more.
