My 11yo cousin was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer some years back that took his life at a devastatingly quick pace - Adam Sandler would visit him in the hospital every week for a few months - there were no cameras, no social media posts, no recognition at all - just a super good dude trying to make the rest of a young child’s life a little more enjoyable - my cousin unfortunately passed and I will never forget what Adam did for him 💚💛❤️

The fact he made his own studio, just to make movies with his friends knowing critics will hate it says everything, grown ups is a fun watch and I find most Adam Sandler movies to be great. Uncut gems really showed how much of a great actor he is

Adam once said he isn't really an actor. He just goes out and tries to be himself. It's why so many of his characters seem similar.
The best actors don't have to pretend what they are feeling or portraying. They just do it because they have felt it, and its familiar.
Maybe the reason people don't think he can act is because he isn't acting. He's just repeating what he knows from his life, and people are so used to seeing someone "acting" like they understand those feelings...when someone comes along who isn't acting, but feeling those feelings, they get confused.

Uncut gems is one of the weirdest movies to get snubbed from almost every big award nomination.
It's got universal praise from critics and audiences across the board. Rave reviews about the story, directing, acting, editing. It's scores on Rotten and Meta are 91 which is crazy high, especially for meta. It garnered a large cult following pretty much immediately, with celebs even congratulating Adam and the directors on such an achievement.
And yet not a single Oscar, Golden Globe, SAG, nomination. Absolutely wild.
The directors also did the movie Good Time, which also received universal praise but once again, not a single nom. It just seems strange.
I wonder if they have enemies or something involved in these award shows.

Its primarily because of Sandler's reputation, a lot of Academy think they're "too good" for his low-brow comedies (and to be honest, some of them are truly awful). Its the same reason Eddie Murphy lost the Oscar for Dreamgirls, because the Academy couldn't get over Norbit. It does suck, but Sandler did get a SAG nom for Hustle, and he's got another movie coming out soon with the guys who made Uncut Gems, so I think he'll get nominated for (and maybe even win) an Oscar at some point in his life. He certainly deserves it.

Any chance you can talk about them take it, to strangers, to friends, anytime you get reminded of them and have an ear to listen talk about them. It’s okay to be mad, sad, scared, lonely, uncertain, wanting to run away from life, and any emotion you may feel. It’s all valid and it all has a purpose. For your sake and theirs, don’t turn to substance abuse. It’s okay to have a few drinks or whatever your vice is, but don’t let it consume you. Make decisions that they would be proud of, and that make you proud of who you are. Give yourself time too, I would recommend not making any rash decisions like getting a new job, moving to a new town, breaking up with a partner, or anything like that. Give yourself atleast 6 months before you make any major decisions like that and communicate with the people you care about. Idk what to do myself but I can tell you that you’re not alone. You lost a father, or people lost a husband, son, friend, cousin, coworker, or whatever capacity they knew them in and you’re not the only one feeling pain. Let it out into the world and heal.

For me he's always just felt super endearing, like your cool uncle or family friend. Maybe a little too blunt or rough around the edges but you know he's got a great heart and always puts a smile on your face

Adam is definity funny, and obviously a good actor based on his versatility. Will always be in my top 5 favorites of all time.

Adam is an excellent actor, not just because I am a huge fan, but because he excels in what his movies set out for. The perfectly fit trash humor in grown ups, the comedic drama in Hustle, the struggle in uncut gems. I am truly inspired by him and happy to say he is one of my idols.

@Angry pillow He literally listed why they're different in their own ways. Are you dense?

@@angrypillow3915 His movies being vast and varied is exactly why most of his movies are the same. It makes sense if you don't think about it

I was born in 96. Grew up watching Adam. Little Nikki when I was too young. 50 first dates when I was probably 9 😂. After realizing he started his own company and filmed like 10 movies in Hawaii I realized not only is he an amazing person and actor but he is truly a smart man. I love you Adam, thank you for giving the world so many laughs. Anger management. I just remembered my coworkers and I listing off movies at work last summer. I couldn't believe how many I could recall. Wow 😂.

Most videos where people make documentories about other people, they commentate over it so much and inject their opinion so often, it tends to ruin the documentary. What you did here, with your subtle commentary and descriptive words was nothing short of amazing. I have always been an Adam Sandler fan, and always will be. You making this video with such perfection and joy, I can say I shed a man tear learning parts of his life that I didn't know. Thank you.
