By the way, with the performance question this game uses a Tier system. I believe that PSL Racing explains it best in his F1 2010 simulation of all 7 seasons. The way it works is, every team has 5 tiers, McLaren and Ferrari are in Tier 5 and In Tier 1 is Virgin, HRT and Lotus. So if Lotus for example beats Virgin and HRT in the constructors at the end of the season, they move up to Tier 2, Then lets say Sauber for example finishes last in Tier 2, they would go down into Tier 1. Also, lets say if Virgin somehow moves to Tier 5, They would have the lowest Tier 5 performance then any other team that moves to Tier 5. Hope that wasn't too confusing, explaining isn't my strong suit.
You got the numbers of the tiers reversed, the frontrunners are tier 1, the backmarkers tier. It is like the division system in football funnily enough, with the promotions and relegations.
I think KERS was still available to use but all teams decided to opt out in 2010 my guess would be because the cars were deemed heavy enough with having to carry full tanks and maybe the teams wanted to better integrate the system so a year of development didn't hurt. Miss Jeff and Happy New Year.
@@TheJamesEarlyit was more of a disadvantage in 2009 and 2010 as it costs loads to develop, barely worked and was heavier. when refueling was banned it made it even harder, as the fuel tanks took up the space it would be. virgin didn't even have a fuel tank big enough for the start of the season anyway. it took more rule changes in 2011, surprised you dont know this cos it mentions it in the game in the interviews when u start the career
Phew, thought my subscription ran out. Can still see this early upload (ha!) though! Miss the 2010 atmosphere with those floating menus and interactive paddock, though removing the piss filter is a crime. God that little track intro with the montage and the music took me back, and the 2010 race engineer is easily the best one with his little quips and excitable reactions. I remember winning a wet Hungarian GP for Renault and he went ballistic on the radio - really felt like a proper driver/engineer reaction and I wish they'd bring that emotion back into the newer games. It's a shame the game is almost impossible to find on PC these days :(
Might need to update that subscribe graphic, still says 5k. Great video nonetheless, glad you added that mod with the filter changes. Can't wait for more!
First of all, Happy New Year James But regarding this mod. I think it's a really nice mod, but there are few issues I got with it AI wise. They are somewhat faster in dry compared to the base game, but at inter/wet conditions, they felt much slower. Kerbs are just super super confusing, but overall it's an enjoyable experience.
Apparently I'm jarno opmeer compared to you bc i nearly won first try on legend ai, though i was using 20% distance and abs (i had no ffb until monaco)
This game was so bad, the AI was not really "physically" on the racetrack and would sometimes do impossible times and had horrible rubberbanding, the pissfilter was awfull, I think the only reason it did well was because of the F1 games drought.
I think the positives of this game are definitely seen out of the car with the paddock being used as a menu, the race engineer as well. Apart from that, it was pretty rubbish!

Oh man, the days, when the team performance difference was this simple...
Huh, that's pretty interesting! Thanks

KERS was allowed according to the technical regulations, but the teams agreed to not implement it due to costs.
All the teams agreeing to not use a legal system that offers an advantage!? What a time to be alive!
@@TheJamesEarly the 2009 champion car didnt use it, because it was better for the weight balance

There's a lot of nostalgia around this game for me. I also think the race engineer is great, guessing he was based on Rob Smedley
Lets hope the Spanish GP wont end like at the Kubica RTG....
You have a better memory than me, I can't remember it at all
Already loving this.
Cheers mate, I'm enjoying it as well
I hold a candle to this game i will always love this. Glad to see someone else play it too
It's nostalgic for me although I actually have more nostalgia for 2011
Great Race James! Hope that F1 challenge comes back soon. Watching Tornado vids was a bit harsh. I watched 1 on the 'Dead man walking'.
Maybe at some point within the next few weeks F1 Challenge can return
@@TheJamesEarly OK Mate. You take the time.

Awesome I see you decided to use the F1 2010 remastered mod. What did you end up using for your wheel settings?
Don't think I changed much with the wheel settings, I did turn ffb off though
@@TheJamesEarly oh wow ok, I’ll keep that in mind
If only these games were not £40+ now on PC, I'd love to drive them.
I managed to get this copy a slightly different way...

Happy new year to you too! I've definitely noticed the AI being much slower in wet conditions.
And so James Early returns
He does, hopefully I'll stick around for a while
The last season without drs, erst kfs. Beautiful
True, the sport changed after this
Happy New Year.
Happy new year to you too mate!

I'm not using FFB as it's horrible on this game. But yes I am slow
isn't professional the third to highest difficulty? because i'm pretty sure there's expert and legend as well
I am running whatever the second to highest difficulty is, can't quite remember what it's called.
Come on james dont stop posting videos
Haha, i'll try not to!
Everyone liked that. Nah but really hope you been able to rest up nicely the past weeks.
Yes cement! All rested up
Do u use the true ai mod?beacouse it look like
And if u now when u spin just brake
I'm not sure on the name of the mod, it could be that.
