I went ahead and watched the original video before watching your explaination and I got a tear in my eye, holy SHIT that's a good recap of the entire Initial D. I find it hard to believe someone put it together so well 12 years ago. There's so many little important details for each fight, and basically ALL the anime fights are included there. The Silvix videos remind me of the Forza Motorsport Team Blackjack drift videos they made on the OG Fujimi Kaido on Forza Motorsport 2005. Fujimi Kaido on Forza Motorsport 2005 was only able to be played in sections, while the version that is available in Forza Motorsport 3 and 4 was a whole track. Team Blackjack eventually was the ones tasked to make the trailer to Forza Motorsport 3 by Turn 10. After Forza Motorsport 4, I haven't heard much about Team Blackjack.

Dude, i saw that initial d gt5 vid so many years ago and i still remember being so impressed by how its done. The effects and the neat little ways they did to make it as cool and as closely replicated as possible.
Something interesting to note is that in GT1 and GT2 the Nissan Sileighty is an almost identical replica of the Sil80 that appeared in Initial D. The only major difference is it has the wrong shade of blue and the rims are silver instead of gold.
Was quietly hoping for a mention about the 4.9 mil video on the Gran Turismo TV channel regarding the final lap showdown between me and Takuma Miyazono during the 2020 Nations Cup event in Sydney. 😅 Shame the GT esports scene hasn't quite kept it's popularity once Covid hit. I’ve sometimes been recommended Japanese GT videos that are popular within the Japanese community, and they’re just so… unique. You almost never see any raw gameplay footage because there is SO much editing, and there is usually some ai voice used to narrate what’s happening on-screen. There are usually a lot of anime references and channel in-jokes. Even though i don’t understand the language and most of the references, it actually quite a fun experience.

I'm surprised they didn't include a kind of editor where you could cut your replays into smaller highlights, then create a replay reel of best bits (with selected/choices of music). Damn I really miss the 00's and early 10's Internet. You would have random gameplay videos filmed with a potato and then some guy who put austistic levels work and care out of pure passion and with no financial gain in mind doing animations, AMVs or gameplay edits like this video here. I remember some guy did a mega epic animation of Megaman X vs Zero with Dragon Ball inspired powers and moves with just pixel art. And it would be the only video uploaded to the channel 😂. Or people doing entire voice overs of mangas that didn't get anime adaptations yet. And let's not forget Red vs Blue in Halo that started as some friends having fun recording themselves and now I can even watch it in Netflix 😂 Miss those days of creators pouring heart and soul into a single video with some of the weirdest ideas ever 😂
The AE 86, I hate this car bc of NFS U2. In online races nobody used anything else than the Toyota. It was not just META, there were no cars that could even hold onto the back of the tofu box.

Hear Me Out, Gran Turismo 7 has so many cars that featured in Initial D like Almost all of them.
The Only Cars they haven't put in the game are the Altezza RS200 Z Edition / First Gen Lexus IS, AE86 Trueno APEX Sedan, Toyota MR2 / MR-S (W30), Nissan Skyline 25GT-T, and Lan Evo VII.
If they do, it will be a complete initial D.
