Why is everyone so obsessed with taking the car to the track. I take my car to the track once in a while but its a boss 302. I would not think of taking my cadillac dts to the track. 90% of cars sold in the U.S. will never see a track.
Why does every car has to be tested on the track? This is basically a fancy Prius. Not track material, if you're thinking of buying one of these, you're obviously not thinking of taking it to the track. This is a useless test
Why would anyone take their CT to the track? This car's #1 attraction is premium efficiency, not premium performance. If you want performance get an IS.
Why put on CT200h on the track? You want a racing hybrid? That will costs a lot more ... GS400h. Just look at the price tag of CT200h ... what do you expect?
Besides power, weight is the other killer on this car, its a fatty for sure! While I like hatches and its not too bad of a "sporty" hatch I'd say the execution of this car isn't the best. Too bad. I heard they are coming out with a more powerful version. We'll see!
blah... how about dropping in a turbo four instead and actually make a premium hot hatch? This is just a dressed-up Prius with slightly firmed up suspension for $5-10K more.
Eddie Greenslade ehh it’s in a different league other than mercedes. it’s meant to be more plush and refined. mercedes is plush and performance at the same time, lexus is not.
This car is the 2nd worst car in quality that I have ever owned. Only a Dodge I've had is worse. ' No, this car is not luxury by any means. My nissans have better feathers and quality than this things. Lexus charges you an arm and leg also for service. Mine blew its engine at 101K miles. AC/Heater blower went out. Buttons feel into the console. Stickers started pealing. Fenders fell off. Door latch came loose. Seats wore from tan to black. Serious quality issues. Serious piece of crap. This car has NO acceleration and if you are in a dangerous situation - you are screwed. You can neither stop it quickly because its weight nor can you accelerate it. It has tons of blind spots. Ton. Ask me... I've owned this piece of crap for some time. I give it a solid "F".
I own 2 Lexus cars best cars I ever owned no problems close to 200,000 miles, it's all about changing the oil on time and taking care of your car. My Chevy blazer, Mazda, and Infiniti were the worst, many engine problems.
Testing a hybrid on a track is just silly. It's like judging a Ferrari on how well it does the school run and weekly supermarket shopping trip.

why so much hate?
Lexus most reliable car I own but the hybrid models not a track car.

11 years later, I'm still wondering why there's a front wheel drive car on a race track.
nobody that buys this car is EVER going to take this to a racetrack
Interesting review...I really like this car, but 134hp is just too little for a Lexus.
All the hate I see the car getting by reviewers is unwarranted. It's not supposed to be a sport car, it's a rebadged and more attractive Prius.

so what's the 0-60 number?
10.5 seconds
Thank you!
Test the F-Sport next.
0:40 Stability-control system: BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!! I dislike that about Toyotas because I live in Wisconsin.
It's a Lexus!
It has a beautiful interior & a great dash - it's a shame it's a dog to drive.
@DMasterMensionz Over price as well, dont u think.

Hence, the SPORT hybrid.
Pull the abs fuse
why would u go fast in a hybrid? -.-
Reminds me of the toyota matrix
i hate hybrids......... but nice review @AutoguideVideo
This is not a track car
nice helmet...

aw come on, this car does not belong on a track no matter how hard it tries to sell a sporting image
No one is buying this car to race it on a track.
@DMasterMensionz LMAO
prius in disguise
zzzz Prius in tuxedo -_-
There is no such thing as a "sporty hybrid" instead buy an Audi A3 TDI and you'll be much happier.
I can't stand hybrids.
Lexus has really boring cars -_-
poor mans Mercedes
@@eddiegreenslade8970 A Merc can't even stand in the shadow of a Lexus!
@@eddiegreenslade8970 or due to the cost of ownership and breakdowns, a Mercedes owner is a poor man.. *I own a Mercedes BTW

Donny Thumper I have hard time believing your post sir.
I know right, what a load of crap.
@@trytthisnowk I really love those nuanced comments.
All these issues from one of the most reliable cars on the planet.
