WOW! Again another 'proper' [family] home. Love it! Design, use of space and the build and materials. As said being 'your home' for a family and a home for life. A great showcase for your business and vision. Thank you for sharing with us. Appreciated.
I love how this has this slight retro feel to it. It's a modern house, with modern concepts about open spaces, internal courtyards use of timber and concrete and yet it has this mid-century vibe to it too with some of the vintage vents and joinery and furniture having a vague mid-century look. I like it. I think it will stop looking so pristine and clean as soon as family grows :)
Maybe it’s only us Queenslanders that can see how beautiful and contextually appropriate this house is. Everyone else seems confused 😅 “It’s boring” Dude would you leave your shit out if a film crew was coming into your home?. I bet if they actually spent time in the home they’d have a very different view. An incredible achievement!!
I do struggle to understand why some architects don’t think it’s necessary for a house to have fly screens in a subtropical environment like Brisbane where there are plenty of flys and misquotes.
Absolutely loved this video as well. What a lovely and a beautiful home. Simple, elegant and gorgeous! P.S. Love all your videos so would appreciate if you could share an approximate cost to build such projects. Thank you!
Wow, Mr. Furminger, thank you for elevating boredom to its highest form! A lack of creativity wins the day! Mies famous dictum "Less is more" was challenged by Venturi's declaration "Less is a bore".
Personally, I think it's hilarious how someone that is quoting Mies van der Rohe and Robert Venturi cannot comprehend the architectural quality and genial subtleties like the ones in this video. This project focused on much more than just being "impressive"; it aimed to respond well to seasonal changes and weather, it prioritised the use of quality materials and a functional layout for the family inhabiting it. Quoting, in 2024, that "less is more / less is a bore" without a plausible argumentation is such an old-fashioned and reduced thinking process.
Because architecture is more than just designing places, it's about designing experiences. And life is made of experiences...not things. Things are there to facilitate the experience
Another "meh" piece of architecture that is dressed up and covered by highly descriptive architectural jargon to make it seem like it is unique. I'm slowly losing interest in this industry as an architect. What we don't realise is that every project starts off with the same canvas and pencils given to us by councils and their planning laws. What I mean by this is that every house will have the same setbacks, maximum area permissible and finishes enforced upon it by these planning laws. You cannot challenge these laws and this is why we end up with these types of homes whereby they are all similar when you peel back the layers.

My dream kitchen that opens to the outdoors!
Lovely home. You can see the tremendous amount of thought and design the clients out into this.

A great design for climate, it turned out beautifully. I love the downstairs areas that open up to the gardens.

I love the shade sails. I have them in my courtyard, they work perfectly.
Courtyard homes are my favourite ❤

Fantastic!!! A huge credit to you and a wonderful outcome. Congratulations!
Beautiful space. Feels very calming.
Magnífico trabajo Cris, una casa con una apertura explendida a la naturaleza.
Beautiful designed and built home.
Nice, more tropical homes would also be nice
Stunning!

This one is amazing!
I love almost everything of this build, the layout, setup, furniture, shades, color 🎉. Where is it located?
Red Hill in Brisbane.
Great video

Beautiful 🤩
I like simplicity. Liked this house after a long time of watching local project videos
What did it cost to build the house, excluding land value?
This channel is such a vibe wow ✨
what song is that at the end of the video, for the hardcover ad?
you don't have any bugs or mosquitos in Australia?
Well done ….
"Timber, stone, and glass all represent themselves." Trying to think how it could be otherwise.
Hi, if I may ask, what kind of wood is that? Thank you.
Wow
I'm so glad the CC works on these videos because the constant uptalk is so distracting.
Do you mean the natural intonation of a typical Australian accent? Might not be the channel for you mate 😂

Couldn’t agree less. You will only understand the power of simplicity once you have experienced it yourself.. and you apparently never did ;)

@@julius.2003Who would like to live inside an empty museum?
@@efelen3890Lol no, it looks like every other house on the neighbourhood
Client was happy.
Maybe.
Why are places in and around a house these days described as "moments" by their architects? It's just a spot!.
Because a “moment” underlines the special encounter people have at/with a carefully designed place?
@@solomontyu Sounds highly pretentious to me, sorry. I guess I'm too down to earth for this.
Such a beautiful space ❤
Because architecture is more than just designing places, it's about designing experiences. And life is made of experiences...not things. Things are there to facilitate the experience
Maybe same space but experienced differently day and night,or certain sun reflection ,or different season and weather.
It looks like a empty modern museum.
glass looks dangerous to bird
Not really good. Stop promoting these boring architects. at 1:14 House looks the same as other 5 houses.
They make cookie cutter houses and think they are original somehow.
It looks nothing like the others, apart from the fact that it's built on a rectangular block.
@@martinXY Its same color and very similar to other ones.
@@xSpiiXeL colour is chosen by the client. What other characteristics are the same?
Your architectural partner? Or your girlfriend?
It has a name? Its a building. A fancy smart monkey tent. And "moments'. GT EFOH
