    I forget the specifics but apparently in a developer QA this was actually inquired about. The response was, paraphrased, "a good observation." Which seems like an odd response if this is all a coincidence.
    The instructions for the Regis also have a lot darker, sadder and more direct theory, that being that they are exactly the instructions used to survive the bombing. First you Dig, then you bring the bombs Wailord and Relicanth, then you are instructed to wait for a period of time until it's safe to climb back outside (fly), looking hopefully to a more peaceful future.
    This is one of my favorite theories. It doesn't seem intended to be scary or spooky, but instead something more like an in-game memorial.

      One thing it really has going for me personally is the footprint thing. Regirock's actual feet look nothing like its footprint, same to a lesser extent for Registeel (where they at least conform to the overall profile)- that shape had to be deliberate. The recurrent seven eyes also probably has some meaning whether this theory is true, someone should look into that part- doesn't line up with obvious things like the atomic numbers of uranium/plutonium or the dates though (maybe on the Japanese calendar, which counted years differently?)
      Of course all of this also runs into issues for how well it intersects with the fact that we know that they're based off of Golems from Hebrew myth as well. Why would they be that, *and* the bombs? Maybe, since the Golem was a defender, they were protecting survivors? Like them, the Golem was locked up when it wasn't needed anymore, so maybe that lines up but I don't know.

    It's feet look deformed, bursting outward, similar to the pattern of the elephants foot, it looks old enough that it's old, but it is clean enough that it looks almost new in spriteworks, that could represent the Chernobyl sarcophagus, plus it's located in the colder parts of sinnoh, and from what I've heard (don't hold me to this) Pripyat, Ukraine, the location of Chernobyl, is pretty cold most times, and while it really doesn't line up location wise (sinnoh being in Japan) it still seems kind of notable

      I wrote about this theory on /r/pokemon on Reddit 4 years ago under the title "Three of the best Japanese fan theories", doing all the research and translating everything. This YTer copied my post, word for word (7:38 is a screenshot of my post) without crediting me and got 200000 views from it. I'm pissed.

    When they talk about living and surviving, theres also text saying "we feared it" likely referring to regigigas, the sealed chamber was likely a stronghold where regigigas' powerful creations couldn't reach them, after all regigigas was worshipped before being sealed away, and the sealed chamber was likely a place where most people stayed while the lesser regis and later regigigas were sealed away. Also they likely feared them because these pokemon could not be destroyed. In the crown tundra whenever a regi is defeated it is simply stated that the regi "stopped moving" likely implying the how of a regi is similar to electricity in a phone, it's simply a power source, which implies the regis couldn't be destroyed, they are referred to as eternal pokemon by the sealed chamber texts. I mean, regirock can easily repair itself with any rocks, regice cant be melted, registeel is made of a metal harder than any other which only regigigas can create from magma, these creations couldn't be stopped so the people had to hide and seal them away until a worthy trainer tamed them. I'd say those locations probably were chosen based on the atomic bomb droppings simply because there was a trio of 3 associated landmarks which would make choosing a spot for the regis a lot easier

  • @mrmetal19

    The fact that regidrago's eyes are blue could be a reference to the method of calculating critical mass called "tickling the dragon's tail," where scientists bring two or more fissile pieces of matter together until criticality is almost reached. There have been accidents, most notably, the first fatality due to a criticality, when a scientist accidentally let a tungsten block fall onto a sphere of plutonium, causing a pale blue glow to come from the reaction of the neutrons reflecting off the tungsten block. The sphere of plutonium was labeled "the demon core" which could also explain regidrago's shape.

    personally id guess that maybe and its a stretch: that the regis *were* the bombs atleast registeel either a manmade pokemon or a ancient pokemon found that was so powerful they used it as a weapon

  • @Nasaj_Tengras
    @Nasaj_Tengras 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    It’s possible that Regirock’s footprint could represent the “Alligator Ant people” that were created shortly after the bombs dropped. So it starts with the bomb in the air, the bombs explosion, and then the effects on the people.

  • @smbeees
    @smbeees 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think registeel is the bombs and regirock and ice represent people caught in the blast. Regigigas represents the people who weren't effected by the bombs

  • @thecopperowl8386
    @thecopperowl8386 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I believe that Regigigas could represent the "sleeping giant", as refered by General Yamamoto. Basically its America, its slow start being a reference to the U.S joining a bit late to the war. Regieleki can be a reference to the blitzkrieg, while regidrago can be a reference to either german wonder weapons or the Bismarck.

    Theory about cubone. Because the "mother" of a cubone is a marowack, who also wears a skull, the skull is just a family heirloom. It isn't its dead mothers skull, but it is its dead mothers hat that just so happens to be a skull.

    what they're made of could also represent the effects of a nuke and the bombs itself
    regirock could represent the gigatons of stone that would been sent flying by the bombs like a children's toy
    regice could represent a nuclear winter, the result of all that rock burning like gunpowder and the ash filling the skies
    registeel could represent the nukes themselves and that they both had smooth metallic casings

    My God, the art from the survivors of the bombings is some of the most disturbing shit I've ever seen, and I'm relatively difficult to disturb. The way they stiffly hold their arms outward as if to preserve what remains of them, and the way their faces melt and contort is just... its all so agonizingly real. The scariest part is that most of the art from survivors depicts these figures in the same way; meaning they all saw the same thing and that's likely what it *actually looked like,* rather than some dramatization. If there was ever a Hell on Earth, they bore witness to it.

    Oh my gosh I remember reading this theory in a Japanese book of Pokémon theories. I didn’t expect to see it again, especially in an English video. I was never active in the Japanese community, so I didn’t know it was that popular. Though I don’t remember the theory being that the golems represented the hibakusha themselves. The book also theorized that Victini’s backstory might be a reference to the atom bomb. I might need to look at that book again, I don’t remember other ones right now. But I had just gone to Hiroshima’s Peace Park and/or was reading Barefoot Gen at the time I think, so the theory really fascinated me.
    Also, apparently the Braille descriptions on the Reji puzzles seem to reference the bombings; I think at least one mentions hiding in what seems to be a bunker.
    There’s also some other... odd locations like the location correspond to Ground Zero bring a desert, and in ORAS there’s an island outright referencing Dejima, a man made island where factory workers used to live in some quite apparently terrible conditions.
    Also Goose Boose’s content has changed a lot since I last saw him...

    11:22 Can I just say that I really enjoy that you leave stuff like this in the video? A lot of times when TH-camrs leave those outtakes in it feels contrived and labored, like they're trying to make themselves sound more relatable, but with you, it just sounds like you're having fun making a video. The fact that you don't do it often also helps. I just love how, even though your content covers some dark stuff, it just feels like I'm talking to a friend about some cool stuff we found online.

    The piece that holds the most credence to me, in particular, is the Wailord and Relicanth requirements. That always stuck out to me as so utterly bizarre and outlandish. What relevance do these two pokemon hold to the mystery of the Regi? But with the correlation of the Fat Man and Little Boy, it does actually make a lot of sense. So weird.
