Something stuck out to me watching the woman walking around the food store in the propaganda film, nobody looks at her or the camera. Anytime that people film stuff in public places, the people around always look to see what is going on, they're curious, it's a natural reaction when you see someone holding a camera and talking. But in this film everyone makes a point of looking like they are just going about their normal buissness and try to avoid any look even in the direction of the camera. They're all just actors and are obviously given very precise instructions on how to 'act normal ' which of course comes across as anything but normal

The one animal we see, the sea lion at the aquatic show, is probably being treated poorly as well, as those animals are highly intelligent and require a lot of stimulation, and of course need lots and lots of food to give them energy and keep the blubber at stable levels. But as North Korea treats their people like literal garbage, it's safe to assume the poor pinniped is probably depressed and malnourished if not dead as we speak.

when you actually speak Korean (and lived), it's way more obvious that the people who are talking in the videos are acting very unnatural and speaks in more of a rigid, forced tone as Goose said. I still cannot be sure because I only know how people act in south Korea, not the north. But I'm pretty sure people don't act like that when they are normally speaking and just doing their things. It's scary that unknown horrible things are done to the people in the North by their tyrant.

This is especially true if you're not comparing brands, yet in those clips, they look as if they've never seen those products and have to read every bit of information on the packaging. Also, if there is a high demand for stuff and peole are in those supermarket/grocery stores every day, buying stuff, why are the damn shelves so full? It’s really sad to see them have to act like this. I remember in an interview Asian Boss did with North Korean defectors, one of them said North Koreans were generally warmer and friendlier to them than South Koreans. There are people who not only act normally but perhaps lovingly in the country, but all we can see are the animatronic props the government lets us see.
I imagine these same actors going home to their families in run-down apartments, where everyone’s relieved that they’re okay and have not been met with threats, though they have to keep their voices down due to the thin walls. That’s all a person can hold onto in such a climate. In some ways, it’s a good thing North Korea is a poor country because the government would otherwise have the resources to install cameras everywhere, even in homes that otherwise lack electricity, and monitor them constantly, like 1984-style telescreens. A huge part of 1984 was about how everyone had to guard their emotions and actions at all times, unable to be open with anyone, so the choice was to evade suspicion until they inevitably disappeared or become blissfully ignorant propaganda machines until they still slipped up and eventually disappeared.
I really hope North Koreans are able to find some kind of sanctuary where they can express themselves as well as a general understanding that this is what they all do, that they’re not alone, and they’re all just reading scripts so the government won’t kill their families.

The second one is just regular citizens, but the last one are people who have betrayed North Korea. You can try to escape North Korea and soldiers would shot and kill you, and because of the attempt of escaping, your whole whole entire family is put into the 3rd category which is the worst one. Those on the 3rd category are treated poorly as If the citizens were already being treated poorly. Those people are not allowed to work, not allowed to buy foods even if that person or persons worked in the government. There are actual times where if you do something to really bad piss of Kim your whole entire blood line is killed. This was said by a North Korean escapee who’s family worked in the government.

I’d say even more concerning than the lack of fresh produce is the lack of there being any canned or frozen fruits and vegetables.
Frozen fruits and vegetables can be just as healthy as fresh produce and have a longer shelf life, so if a country is trying to make their produce last longer they ideally wouldn’t leave it fresh and would freeze it or can it. The fact that you don’t see EITHER of those means that the DPRK likely doesn’t even have enough produce for that, even inside their Pyongyang supermarkets that get preferential treatment.

North Korea is neither. Strong visual responses outside the expected shows can be dangerous so people learn to suppress them even when it isn't needed.

Here's another interesting detail: All the videos take place in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea. While the majority of citizens in the country live in small impoverished villages with little to no food, the "privileged" live in Pyongyang, and have infinitely more money, resources, and food.
Edit: I've edited this to add some more information. At the time of writing this, The North Korean Regime continues to exist (which isn't surprising), but for an unknown reason, Twitter has decided to defend it. Recently, Radio Free Asia (an organization established to bring news in and out of authoritarian regimes similar to Radio Free Europe) published an article abut an incident where North Korean students were killed for simply watching Squid Game. The comment section began to not only denounce the news as fake, but also defend the regime unironically.
I, personally, don't watch Squid Game, but it doesn't matter. The mere fact that people are actually defending North Korea inspite of it's atrocities, is horrifying, just as much as them denouncing actual organizations made to criticized authoritarian regimes. This needs to be stopped, because as long as atleast one person still defends north Korea, the Regime still has a voice. I can't do much as one user, but I plead with the people to stand up to the regime and end misinformation in any way you can. Please, not just for people like me, but the North Koreans who continue to suffer under the regime.

'"In china they have freedom of speech" as was in one of the footages shown, shows how bad the state of the country is for the people, china isn't very keen on freedom of speech as we all know, but for the north koreans to prefer china says a lot.

To some extent, the DPRK succeeds with it's propaganda because they have made footage and information so much more abundant in regards to Pyongyang.
