Mental fortitude, the power to endure, the ability to chose right even when wronged, the strength the stand back up even when bashed to the ground. The difference between the hero and the villain.

  • @Richard_Frost
    @Richard_Frost ปีที่แล้ว +127

Davy Jones is such a sad story. The only reason he became the monster we all saw, was because he once dared to love, and have faith in his love, and yet when the time came, his love had abandoned him... Driving him mad, or cruel, or worse. Cold, and numb to the living.
He made the deal, that he would take on the task asked of him by the goddess of the sea, in exchange to be with her, his love, for one day every 10 years, on his one day free of service. And when that day came, she stood him up, yet he was still bound to the service for eternity. He was tricked, cheated, betrayed, and scammed. And when he finally had the chance to ask the goddess why she hadn't come to him, even once, for all of those long years, she wouldn't even give him an answer.
Davy Jones may have been the antagonist, but he wasn't the villain. No more than Khalipso was the villain of his story.

To any brother here in the comments, elaborate when you saw this movie as a kid seeing jones and then how you feel rewatching it after a woman breaks your heart. You finally understand him on the level, but let’s not give into pure hatred and despair as he did. It’s not a sin to put up walls around your heart. That’s being cautious and wise. It’s a sin to cut your heart out leaving you sociopathic and soulless.

I've been coming back to this character as of late since I've been comparing the pain that I went through as a child to his pain but I keep going to a gray line from where the pain that was inflicted upon me physically and mentally is not the same as the pain he has within himself I saw much of my past self within this character the hate the pain and the pain of ones thoughts of the past tearing them apart from the inside out causing you to becoming that is not even the closest thing to a human or a man simply a empty husk with only pain and hatred and memories of the past that will tear you apart until your mind finally breaks.

The soundtrack to this movie is amazing! The love song from the locket is absolutely tear jerking and the theme for the kraken with the organs playing is just priceless. There's no words to describe how perfect it is. It's crazy how the right music at certain parts of movies can make the moment so much better. Music in movies makes me cry so much. Even when it's not sad. Idk why lol. It's just like it touches my soul or something. Like the theme song when Jack is riding his little sinking boat in to the dock gets me everytime. It's not even sad but I shed a tear everytime lol. Hans Zimmer should've won do many awards for these movies

Absolutely! Davy Jones is by far my favorite POTC villain and character in general really. Everything about him is perfect. His looks, accent, the way he enunciates words, his back story, just all of it. And Bill Nighy did a fantastic job. I'm so angry that Disney treated Depp like a scumbag instead of waiting to see the facts n ruining the chance for another movie. POTC is one of my favorite movies of all time and particularly the fact that I think they were bringing Davy Jones back based on the end credits scene in the last film. I wish Jones could send Amber Heard to the locker lol

I don’t understand why Davy jones is underrated
He so good he can never be “overrated”
He is truly amazingly well written
I’m starting to think he may even be more tragic then darth Vader
Tho that may be up for debate
As a kid I still loved him even though I didn’t understand his story
I just thought he was plain awesome
Tho I understand his story as of now and I love him even more

This edit is a masterpiece and sadly very undderrated
    Everything is just perfect
The introduction, other characters telling about him, his entry, the background music is just right
The edit shows a story throughout the video
Only thing is it would've been much much better if you hand included some of his sword fights and stabbing Wills heart scene.

Villains only become Villains usually do to very traumatic and abnormal stressful events, and also generally because of being treated as such before they actually become the "bad guy", when one gets thrown about and treated as expendable or even looked down upon in some fashion it tends to breed resentment which leads to apathy and then the famous "I don't give a damn attitude ", then shortly after that a "villian" is born.

"To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket-safe, dark, motionless, airless-it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The alternative to tragedy, or at least to risk of tragedy, is damnation. The only place outside Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is Hell."
    - C.S. Lewis

Calypso brought him to life because she said that why give your heart, I hope there will be great action and spine-tingling
