Exactly my thought. Thank goodness he was able to do what he did. This could have ended much more tragically like it did with John Hurley back in 2021, who was shot and killed by police in Arvada, CO after being mistaken for being the actual gunman - who was 59 years old. John was quite a bit younger at 40 years old.

It is legally easier for me to obtain a firearm in the Philippines as a foreign expatriate then it is for me to obtain a firearm as a Californian citizen. Disarming law-abiding citizens only makes them victims. Criminals by definition do not follow any laws. They have no problem possessing I) legal firearms when their intent is already to murder and steal from you. Armed minorities are harder to oppress. You cannot sexually assault a woman with a hole in your chest. Armed gays do not get bashed
