I started using Amlactin relief lotion last year. I apply it before bedtime. I also use teals scrub 2X a week on my whole body. I have visible kp pores on my arms and legs but the rough bumps are gone. I have no itchiness. Great product!

Thank you for discussing this condition. I'm in my forties now and have had kp all my life; it has never gone away. It's on my arms, legs, and cheeks, and I've always hated it. People would shy away from me, thinking I had some sort of contagious rash, and a few boyfriends made really unkind comments about not liking how my skin felt. This was a really helpful video!

Thank you so much for this! Your channel is the most informative I've found! I wondered if you would consider doing a video on reducing stretch marks and a routine using OTC products? I wasn't sure if using a chemical exfoliant body wash, as you talked about in this video, followed by a retinol body lotion would be a good combo. Expensive office procedures aren't an option right now so I've been trying to create an aggressive body routine for my deep stretch marks, based on what you've said certain ingredients can do for the face. If you have any suggestions for a good body routine, I would definitely listen! :) Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I don’t have KP but I do alternate between lactic, urea and salicylic lotions. My skin very smooth using this approach. Alpha Skincare makes affordable glycolic acid based products. Their 12% glycolic acid body lotion is great.
FYI. Cetaphil just introduced a 10% urea lotion. It is Cracked Skin Repair Lotion. Also, I suspect the Eucerin Cream and Lotion contains 10% urea and the Spot Treatment is 30%. This is based on similar product line (Urearepair) sold in Europe that discloses the percentage of urea.

I'm surprised you have not spoken about Brushes for the Skin. There are a few out there whose promise when used appropriately over the skin, with a skin match, to smooth the skin. The Bristles are treated bristles designed and made for skin, but there must be a match for the skin, in other words, an indication that matches that skin type.

I get bumpy skin only in winter, when my skin comes in contact with multiple layers of synthetic fabric. I get it on my upper arms, buttcheeks and legs. Not using body lotion helps with the formation of these bumps. So it's some kind of natural oil as soon as I come out of the shower and when my skin is dry, a body lotion.

I did my own research and found out that taking fish oil in liquid form might help. I took a teaspoon of good-quality fish oil for about 6 months or so every day. I'm a 34 year old male, who has had KP for a few years now. I have watched countless YT videos about the topic of KP remedies, and i find it very interesting that none of them have talked about diet and how what you eat can affect your KP.
I am by no means a trained dermatologist, and i understand that dermatologists are not nutritionists. I have only heard of one person on YT talk about the correlation between KP and what you eat. That one person is Dr. Eric Berg DC. He explains in his video about KP, that eating foods which contain Dairy and Gluten can make KP worse as they are inflammatory to the body. He also suggests that taking Cod Liver oil (or omega 3 oils) can improve your KP.
I was wondering what your take on this opinion would be The Budget Dermatologist, that would be very helpful.
    Thank you

Can’t wait to get started on this regimen for myself! My pediatrician said I can use over the counter KP products on my kids but never gave me any further info. Would you recommend Amalactin products for an 8 and 2 year olds? Any other products that could be better for them?

I am wondering if you might cover skin care for the ears? My dad just had an ear removed due to cancer, and until now I really haven't thought much about my ears because honestly, how often do we talk about them?
I know I should (and do) use sunscreen. Should I exfoliate? Use a retinoid? Etc.

Hi there! Thanks for this great video…
Teenage son has been asking me for advice on dealing with his KP. It runs in the family and the only bit that bothers him is his very rough and bright red cheeks. Can you recommend any of the amlactin products (or another brand) that are suitable specifically for the face? I think most of the products you mentioned seemed to be for the body…
    Many thanks,

    Hi everyone,
First, thank you so much for the great content in this video Doctor !
I'm 31 and I've been struggling with this since childhood but just kind of resignated myself. Now there is hope ! I just placed an order for Cerave lotion and body wash + AmLactin lotion.
Does anyone can relate their experience on how much progress they got from using these products and also how long it took for them to notice a difference. Of course, I am aware that it will be different from one individual to another but I am just curious and would like to have some sort of rough timeline in mind so that I can know if I should persevere or quit after the first bottles if I don't see any improvement.
Sorry for the long blabla, I am feeling excited about this and I know that here people can relate to each other.
    Cheers from France

will a benzoyl peroxide WASH CANCEL OUT the effects of a retinol treatment ? or is the main issue with combining the two is that it may cause dryness and irritation but using a benzoyl peroxide in a WASH OFF form will not cancel out the effect of a retinol treatment ?

Eucerin (store brand dupe) cleared lesser am in about 4-6 weeks in summer. Worse arm took almost 3 months to clear. Once daily all the time, sometimes twice when I remembered. I'm checking the Cerave Psoriasis when I run low.
It's my understanding KP is a forever thing that returns if not treated on a maintenance schedule. But I haven't figured out frequency to maintain, since Winter is worse. Maybe 2x week in Winter, and 1x week in summer? Thanks!
