June 22nd 2016, the Chicago Bulls have traded away 3x All Star and the Youngest NBA MVP in the History of the game, Derrick Rose. With that ends a electrifying 4 years lead by Rose making it to the conference finals in the 2011 NBA Season and trying to compete every year after. But after Derrick Rose’s injury in 2012, the trajectory of the Bulls playoff chances fell to the floor as DRose’s health deteriorated. But after trading Derrick Rose the Bulls would find themselves in the worst place to be in the NBA, Middle of the Road Purgatory. And it was the fault of many people. Whether that is creating a terrible culture with one of the worst NBA Coaches of all time, paying has been players too much money to stay in the middle, making terrible trades to create the same result, and much much more. And for what? 2 First round exits, 3 coaches, and only 1 winning season in 8 years. What we will be discussing today is how the Chicago Bulls ruined everything for themselves and created the situation they are in now with a aging Demar Derozan who may leave for nothing, a very disgruntled Zach Lavine, and Nikola Vucevic who they traded 2 protected FRPs that they ended up losing for debatable subpar production.

@@ljy32swag I kinda can. Reinsdorf's have unimaginable pride and ego's. They'd rather watch the ship sink than admit they'd screwed up. A big reason change happened is because All-Star weekend was in Chicago in early 2020 and the Bulls, outside of Zach LaVine in the 3 point contest, had zero representation going on in front of the NBA world while they're essentially partied in our crib.

February 25th, 2022 they were 39-21 with the #1 seed in the East and that was the last day we saw great Bulls basketball under Billy Donovan.
Ever since that day we’ve seen them go 86-100 in the regular season

That run really had me thinking 😭. Was the Bulls really that good or was it just a flash in the pan. Unfortunately reality had to set back in and we’re seeing that even more so after that year but man I know Demar was the king of Chicago for a solid 5 months.

I don't know if they were a championship favourites like we thought (I'm a Toronto fan and love DeRozan, he is more of an overqualified 2nd option than a true go to guy).
Lonzo is the big X factor and I think if healthy, the Bulls would be a top 4 in the East and a dark horse contender.

The bulls basically exist as this limbo franchise that’s content to sell tickets and be like “hey remember that team from the 90s with arguably the greatest player ever? Yeah that’s us!” And that’s the end of it. They have no ambition and Reinsdorf just treats it as a cash cow. It’s insulting that a franchise as prestigious as the Bulls wallows in mediocrity since the Rose years.
Even if Lonzo somehow becomes the player he used to be again, it won’t be enough

I don't understand why people say the Bulls could have had Franz Wagner, or other players our picks turned into.
1 There's no guarantee the Bulls would have picked that player.
2 The roster construction would mean the Bulls would have needed something different from Franz than the Magic did.
3 The developmental team isn't the same as the Magic.
Franz would have probably ended up like Markkannen and be utilized better somewhere else.
Also, everyone saying the Magic got the better deal in the Vucevic/Carter trade must not see that the Magic haven't really done anything either. Sure, they're in the playoffs now, but Bulls fans complain about them being a first round team, as well. The Magic are no different. Do you wanna be a borderline playoff/first round exit team with Carter, or you wanna take a chance to be better?

I'm begging for a video dedicated to the Knicks. A mostly abysmal run of 20 years (with one stand-out season mixed in) before a rebirth in the last few years. Truly an incredibly painful experience for NYK fans (and finally something to smile about again)

As a Bulls fan, I'm one day hoping we could have a coach like Tom Thibodeau and the type of hard nosed culture the Knicks have.

@Mcdun325 as a cavs fan and LeBron fan, no team was as good as those bulls teams with rose and noah....could have been an all time great rivalry with either team winning....shows you how hard winning a playoff series is....let alone finals with 3 different teams. The quality of the opponent for every ring but the bubble title is mind blowing. I really thought the bulls were gonna be there with a great chance to beat LeBron every single year. They had the toughness and talent. Like Boston with KG, Allen and Pierce but the bulls were younger and had a deeper bench and a better coach. Man LeBron really has conquered some hall of fame level opponents and turned them to dust in the aftermath. Will never understand the slander he gets. Oh and he beat the spurs and Tim Duncan too. Just mind blowing greatness for decades of my life.
