- Thai Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara on Friday urged Myanmar’s military to show restraint after guerrilla fighters claimed control over a major trading town on the border with Thailand. On Thursday, guerrillas from the Karen ethnic minority and pro-democracy forces said they captured the last of the army’s outposts in Myawaddy township in eastern Myanmar, virtually clearing the way for them to take over the town which is a major crossing point for trade with Thailand. I will say that Thai laws for punishing separatist rebels are very harsh. It is the declaration of martial law. And rebels can be punished by death or crushed by the army on the battlefield. same as 3 The southern provinces where the Thai army knows which country the rebels are receiving support from. I think everyone in ASEAN knows this because they know Pattani. There are important crude oil sources in Thailand.
Wishing glory and victory belong to all ethnic groups from nagaland, India.
You wouldn't want other "rebels" getting "wrong" ideas, like overthrowing neighboring military-backed regimes in the region :)

yes. military junta overthrew a democratically elected government, why wouldn't you want them to overthrow it and place said democratically elected government back in power. Hopefully this common enemy can unite them and form a national identity of myanmar, IMO the lack of national identity is what creates all these ethnic rebel groups

Geopolitical headaches 😅. The thais so worried abt myanmar if the junta falls, but they want the rebel control the area that block China reach the indian ocean through myanmar, not through thailand.
That is why needs to remain a fight for the Myanmar people. Thailand will do what we can to help refugees, but external powers like China or India or Russia or US gets involved it will escalate into a much bigger conflict, no one wants that.

@@teeee8534i'm afraid that the US has already been involved in this for so long. There're many US military personnel, seen crossing the Thai - Myanmar border back and forth every few months or so, even before the whole war erupted. It's not reported, but many locals saw them. Many thinks they crossed the border to train the revolutionary forces.

Freedom fighters fighting for peace and freedom from the tyranny of the Burmese Military. The thing is most Burmese citizens supported the army when it went and burned down Rohingya villages, but now since the military took over they now feel how the Rohingya felt

ASEAN don't have the power to send UN peace keepers, that for the UN to decide.
@@abmong I think it's possible they mean that they should send their own ASEAN-equivalent of UN peacekeepers, although the issue with that is that there is no ASEAN peacekeeping unit (despite years of talks on the creation of such a peacekeeping force).
Asean should not intervene in personal state matters of myanmar or any other member. It sets a bad precedent.

Strike back! In my humble opinion, the innocent civilians fleeing the civil war in Myanmar should be able to relocate over to the vast ginormous bountiful resourceful Australia and New Zealand in the Asia-Pacific region.
Moreover, the vast majority of the population in those countries, tens of millions of Christian Europeans from all over Europe brought in over to the Asia-Pacific region.
In fact, around 90% of Australia and New Zealand are completely empty today..
Like I said, prayers alone are not enough, I'm afraid.. Moreover, there's hardly any Muslim, Hindu or Christian there up until Anglo British Colonialism. I suppose it's fair to say that many of these tragedies that nation facing today, such as racial, ethnic and religious conflicts, started with Colonialism.
Here in Singapore, a tiny island with 6 million souls lives like sardines in a can, elsewhere in nearby vast bountiful Australia which is ten thousand times 10,000 bigger with a mere 27 million inhabitants.. A similar situation in tiny and packed Japan, which is running out of space and land. Do you know that their living room and bedroom are the same place, and that most Japanese people sleep in their living room?
Here's the one solution I see. Why don't Burma's Rohingya Muslim, Hindu & Christian population, if they wish, move to a place like Anglo Colonized Australia/New Zealand in the Asia-Pacific region? After all, these are Asia-Pacific lands looted from Native Asians-Pacific islanders.
