Also building a competitive team is very easy nowadays, the only thing missing is a Rusty Bottlecap, which one could use to minimize IVs, e.g. the Attack stat for special attackers or the Speed stat for Trick Room teams. Furthermore I liked that these games had an actual epilogue that tied the main games and DLCs together nicely, also it is great that the newly released mythical Pokémon Pecharunt got its own little backstory and proper introduction in the story, instead of just being a random Mystery Gift with no backstory whatsoever (aside from the movies), that alone is a massive improvement over the treatment of Mythicals since Gen 6 up to Gen 8. One major problem for me that the presidents didn't mention is the insane power creep with the new Mons though, so I hope GF cools it down a bit in the future with Gen 10 onwards.
We definitely need a Spin-off game tier list. The presidents' discussion on Pokémon Channel would be interesting since it's more known via the Creepypasta with BRVR.

You can absolutely catch Growlithe in the wild in Crystal. They even made it available earlier (grass west of Violet) so you can use it against Bugsy. Vulpix was kept Silver exclusive tho
The one good thing sword and shield that was expanded upon was the character customization plus that banger gym music. Dynamax adventures was great cause i got my shiny lunala after 100 tries. Other than technical issues gen 9 was great, school was underutilized sure but then we got area zero and its beautiful music. Gen 2 and 3 are still my favorite, secret bases are awesome.
Playing through Arceus currently probably my favorite way to go through gen 4 hisui is great and it’s just a different type of game in a l lot of respects
Pretty insightful. I always thought the later gen games were pretty easy. No need for dark souls hard but maybe a level below that? Curious about what gen 10 will be like.
You're videos are too good, you are the best that made this videos of the president. By the way do you play Persona? because i would love a video about the president about Persona
I've seen some other President's Pokémon tier lists, and this is definitely one of the better ones. Easily the most well-articulated. I'd personally put BW and FRLG in A tier and I thought putting Yellow and Crystal in F was a bit harsh despite your valid criticisms, but as long as Emerald, Platinum, and HGSS were put in S where they belong, I'm a happy camper.
The disrespect to Gen One is insane. Acting like the fact that it's barebones doesn't have to do with that it came out on the original Gameboy almost 30 years ago Just going to abandon the spark that caught the imagination of an entire generation to call it a "sub par RPG"
Seriousy, it created a blueprint where there wasn't one before. It was unique for its time, and the later games are obligated to improve on the original to justify existing. Really crazy take by the presidents, probably the worst I have ever seen.

I can't argue with the rankings. In fact, the points the boys touched on simply reminded me that the most fun I had with the games was Pokemon Stadium back on the N64. I do like the later gen version on the xo share since one of my biggest gripes with the older games was the grind. I'd catch a new pokemon that felt interesting but I couldn't use them because their lvl was way too low.
In terms of Fun Gen 1 is undefeated there are so many cool glitches in that game to do like, missingno, Beating the game in 0 seconds, Battling Professor Oak and finding all sorts of Scrapped glitched Gen 2 pokemon, the mew glitch, getting any pokemon in the game before the second gym etc
People always talk about how Cythia was so difficult. Young me played Ruby first and did not know what he was doing. Killed Groudon because he figured he would catch one later. Best mon was a Vulpix (didn't have a fire stone) and it used fire spin, will o wisp, iron tail, and flamethrower. After the forge that was beating the Elite 4 under those conditions, Diamond was a breeze as was everything since.
Surprised you didn’t include the DLC expansions for the Switch games as a “third” game and separate on the tier lists. They’re pretty big and are a nice improvement by replacing the third game.
Here's my take on Sun & Moon and USUM; mainly the villains: Lusamine & Guzma were easily one of the best evil team leaders at that point in time of their debut. Lusamine had lost her husband when they traveled in Ultra Space, got her mind infected by Nihilego which made her so obsessed that she even tried forcibly dressing up Lillie like Nihilego itself, and even abused her own children so badly (namely Lillie), that they abandoned her to loneliness. She even cryogenically froze Pokemon that she once told in stories to her children while also trying to get even closer to Nihilego. She effectively gave me every reason to wanna beat her considering that Ultra Wormholes were also appearing all over Alola. And then when the Ultra games came along, they sorta kinda make her look like a good guy despite having still abused her own kids in the past and just got away with it. Not only does this make no sense, but it also ruins Lillie and Gladion's character growth. They pretty much go from "I'm gonna stop my psychotic mother from destroying the region" to "I want to stop my mom from saving the region because I don't want to lose my Pokemon." Lusamine also ended up being a background character once the main conflict was over. This is why the Rainbow Rocket Episode should've been the main story of the whole games (considering Game Freak clearly had a massive hard-on for Kanto throughout the story). Considering Giovanni mentioned using Nihilego's poison to mind-control Lusamine, they could've made it where she was their puppet and that she is a sweet/loving mother, which would then tips Lillie and Gladion off to something not feeling right. Team Skull could be used as their front to stop you while the Ultra Recon Squad is trying to warn you to the problems as Rainbow Rocket is after Necrozma and are trying to use it for their own gain, but Team Skull would interrupt conversations to prevent you from knowing the truth. ...Or something like this.
Now you have to do the spin off games: ranger, mystery dungeons, colluseum, XD, stadiums, and pokemon channel. Just joking but that would be a nice twist. Maybe mainline zelda, fire emblem, and final fantasy games too.
The thing I don't understand is this: if something ceases to appeal to you, why do you continue to check out every new iteration when nothing changes? I was a massive Pokémon fan as a youngster but I steadily began to lose interest following Gen IV. Eventually after X and Y I just stopped buying the games because I understood they weren't really "for me" anymore. I picked up Sun and Moon years later for something like 5 dollars and like Trump, couldn't get past the long-ass tutorial. Then I tried Arceus, and while yeah it's nice to see them finally do something new after 30 years, the bland openworld, AI-generated story and lack of personally interesting 'Mons solidified to me that I'm just not a fan of Pokémon anymore, and that's okay. I go back and play romhacks of the good games, I've played through GSC/RSE/DPPt more times than I can count, and I have two originally-issued massive Pokémon: The Movie and The Movie: 2000 posters in my apartment. But all that stuff will always be there. This is the most financially successful video game IP of all time but no one seems to be happy lol. If Trump's little spiel at the end was cathartic for you, I'd bring that same energy for the next game GF releases, and either don't buy it or just pirate it.
Ik im probably alone. But I stopped playing Pokémon after my OSAS got stolen by a crack addict neighbor, and as a kid I dropped em, so when I picked up sword and shield. I had a blast, was happy to enjoy, plus my dog had recently passed at the so having Zacian kinda helped me, plus diehard souls fan, pokemon Sif made me fiend and buy a switch. Haven’t tried arceus, do you recommend? Great list btw man. Don’t flame me for my love to sword and shield lol
Gen 1 paved the way for all the others. All 3 are absolute S tier. They built a formula where there wasn't one. Of course the others should be improvements, there's no excuse not to be, yet some of them still failed.
One of my biggest issues with S/V was how they replaced the gym puzzles with these often half-assed challenges. Like rolling a fucking olive??? REALLY???? What a meme challenge. The challenges included: - Roll a fucking inflatable olive - Find a bunch of flowers around town (not hard, but a little tedious) - Half-assed Where's Waldo - An auction??? - Culinary Detective Game (admittedly this one was kinda fun in its own way) - Literally no puzzle, just 3 battles in succession. For the first gym, this is passable, but for what's intended to be the 6th gym???? Seriously??? (Tbf the dancing Greavard was damned cute) - The world's slowest quick time event challenge that drags on for far too long - The world's easiest slalom minigame
Honestly, I think Scarlet and Violet got waaaaay too much hate here. I might be biased, but it's the most fun i had playing a Pokemon in YEARS. Area Zero, while only an hour or two at the end, is probably the best bit of story we've ever gotten in a Pokemon Game. Nemona is the friendly rival archetype done right. Penny and Arven are fun and likeable characters. I feel like it really should be an S-Tier, but the technical issues drag it down to B for me. Fun as it is, and as cool as many of the ideas and concepts were, they sadly dropped the ball in several areas technologically. Scarlet and Violet is, hopefully, a step in the right direction from a narrative and character perspective. But they need to fix the technical issues and introduce more of a challenge to the game. Side note: I'd love if you ranked some of the spin-off titles at some point. I'd LOVE to see the takes given to the Mystery Dungeon titles.
The post game in Diamond and Pearl is great, you have a whole island to explore with a volcano and Battle Tower Plus Giratina, Creselia, the Pixies At the very least the post game is decent
Insane take on X/Y. Mega Evolution was a legitimately amazing mechanic with serious depth that they should hae continued throughout the series rather than invent new gimicks. Not to mention the beautiful 3D model work, new fairy typing, the addition of player customization beyond starting gender, a bonus starter pokemon in the Gen 1 starters, XP share that doesn't suck, a way to boost EVs without grinding wild pokemon, etc. Yeah the game is easy, and that's unfortunate, but it's useful for there to be a couple easy games in the series to appeal to players of all skill level. X/Y is the perfect game for players to get into Nuzlocking. The only bad thing about X/Y is boring Team Flare. Everything else is goated. Easy A tier or S tier. Edit: because everyone always says that everyone's favorite pokemon game is the one they started with, I feel the need to make it clear that my first pokemon game was Sapphire.
100% agreed, X and Y are what got me into pokemon games in general, and its still by far my favorite of the series. Really wish they kept up the mega evolution mechanics rather than the lazy gimmicks they keep going for like 'make pokemon huge'
agree for mega evolution, but the game doesn't even use them until the champion and it's an easy sweep, not to mention some clear balancing issues they never addressed. It's still by far the best gimmick and clears all the others but it's not perfect either. the """"""beautiful"""""" 3d models look like lifeless husks that got their souls sucked up from them at the same time as their bright and beautiful colors when going into the washing machine, and the fact that they're still using those ass models in 2024 makes me hate them even more. Fairy typing is great but new types have been introduced before and we'll probably get new ones in the future, it wasn't an arguments for the other games so it's not here either. Player customisation is great and it was taken into consideration in the tier list, but it's the sidest side content if the customisation is the ultimate greatest addition might as well play movie star planet instead. More useless gen 1 pandering making the easy game even easier isn't an argument for S tier. While XP share not being mandatory was better than having forced on the player it's still the reason we have it now, exp share that didn't suck was back when it was an item, If they wanted it to be easier to access for the whole team they could've easilly handed multiple copies of it throuhought the game with side quests or main quest story bits, way more apealling that having the easy way out ready from the get go. And i agree with the last point. The game isn't deserving D tier or lower for sure but it's far from an A tier S even less. Maybe if it had gotten the 3rd Z version everyone was waiting for to fix some of the issues and lack of postgame, maybe then the game could've gotten this high. But as it is now it's fine in mid C or B tier
I liked it at the time, but you only ever fight two mega pokemon in the whole game, which speaks to larger problem in the game being way too easy. E4 members having 4 pokemon each? To go from B/W difficulty to X/Y difficulty was such a let down despite how cool megas are.
Gen 1 deserves our respect, and Yellow allows the opportunity to not only start out with Pikachu, but to get the original 3 starters as well, just like Ash did! Are there improvements that could/would be made? Of course, but much of it was already perfection. We don't need 1,025 Pokemon. How many generic birds/fish do I have to try and memorize now? How many beauty contests do I have to enter before I can just play the core game? It was a simpler time; We played RBY and then pushed a hoop with a stick down a dirt road.
George's voice sounds off. Not a criticism or anything. Just wondering how much training data you had for him vs the more modern presidents Love this shit keep it comming!
Bruh, they ignored the fact that Scarlet/ Violet's music is one of the best things about the games, they were composed by Toby Fox, plus they were playing Penny's theme in the background, an incredibly catchy song, my favorites are definitely the Tera Raid theme, Penny, and Turo/ Sada
Wow, you REALLY don't like Gen 1 lol. In my opinion Red/Blue's setup and gameplay genuinely makes it my favorite game to play until gen 4. Yeah it's broken, janky and unbalanced, but its an RPG first, and a collecter second. Gen 1 was not built around the idea that you would use your team the whole game, it was built on the idea that you would switch around your team as the game progressed. Thete were decisions made in game for the sake of story gameplay not balance. Why is Onyx such a weak final evolution? Because it's the first boss. Why are there no Dragon moves? Because the only Dragon you are likely to encounter is the Penultimate boss. Yes Jim one is broken jinky mess, but its broken in a way that balences it around itself, not in a way that makes the game unfun or impossible to play.

We definitely need a Spin-off game tier list. The presidents' discussion on Pokémon Channel would be interesting since it's more known via the Creepypasta with BRVR.
Crystal F tier!? No wonder I didn't vote for any of these guys.
Lugia is goated. Always will be.
Love seeing our Man George coming in. I am going to attempt to building a AI video myself for different characters. If you have any advice, i’ll gladly take it, because you are GOATED at this. Take care man, and hope you are well!
I think the thing I've seen people appreciate the most in my videos is the genuine analysis mixed with jokes. Try to find the balance.
Don't get too caught up making things as edgy and having the characters, whoever you're using, insult each other back and forth distracting from the content.
Thank you for the super thanks and good luck. 👍
Gen 2 gives us Wooper and quagsire it's S+ tier
Woopy boi
GEN ONE IS BEST ONE
DIS WHY COZY DOESNT VOTE
Wow. I just learned Ash became a Pokémon master. I had given up. It’s been so long. I was a baby when he started and now I have patches of grey hair. I’m so proud 🥹
My zigga I was just binge watching the presidents nuzlocke sapphire playthrough when the algorithm gods decided to hit me with another banger. Let's gooooo! Diamond and Pearl gang represent.
'Puts SV in F/D tier'
Well none of these guys were known for their intelligence.
Youre right it should be F- tier
@@mreevee7785 But where would we put Gen 3 then? H tier?
@KnightofChaosDeck no it would go in 7.8/10 too much water tier
@@mreevee7785 it isn't lmfao
I'll be honest I personally don't mind how the EXP Share worked in X/Y mainly cause it made grinding less annoying
True and super training made it so EV training wouldn't be so much of a chore instead of farming 100s of low level mons
glad to see HG and SS up in S tier where it belongs but kinda sad the GOAT pokewalker wasnt mentioned
They never fixed the level curve though. They could’ve really flushed out the kanto region too. The fight against red is always really cool though.
Honestly the take on Crystal was refreshing to see. Also nice to see the Prez tear into S/V!
Great Video!
You can absolutely catch Growlithe in the wild in Crystal. They even made it available earlier (grass west of Violet) so you can use it against Bugsy. Vulpix was kept Silver exclusive tho
That's my B
@@primeradiancyi look forward to ju on the grudge films and game rank list 👍👍
No prob thanks for the entertaining vids dude 🤙
Yeah im honestly surpriseed how easily it was damned to F teir like what about the other stuff it improved from gold and silver?
Platinum, HGSS, BW & B2W2 all came out withing 5 years. The DS Era is simply unmatched
Watched all your vids so far on ai content, finslly subbed lol
idk why these videos help me a lot getting away from all the crazyness. thank you
A like and a comment for the algorithm. All the best for the best AI president youtube videos!
I see you with the Driftveil City
Please more Mass Effect! And the lets play doesnt have to be longform im okay with plenty of cuts to get to the good stuff
Playing through Arceus currently probably my favorite way to go through gen 4 hisui is great and it’s just a different type of game in a l lot of respects
Curious will you rank the pmd games as well?
Please post a tier list about the Pokemon starters next.
That's actually fully scripted already, you can expect it within the month.
Acting like the fact that it's barebones doesn't have to do with that it came out on the original Gameboy almost 30 years ago
Just going to abandon the spark that caught the imagination of an entire generation to call it a "sub par RPG"
Seriousy, it created a blueprint where there wasn't one before. It was unique for its time, and the later games are obligated to improve on the original to justify existing. Really crazy take by the presidents, probably the worst I have ever seen.
Facts
@@daqueda1577okay but you said it yourself, the later games improved on it. Go back and actually play pokemon red and compare that to B/W or platinum. It’s not contest other than the kanto pokemon are by far the most iconic.
@@digitaldarmanitan3072 Read my comment again. The sequels had to improve on the originals to JUSTIFY EXISTING. Some of them are not improvements, and should not exist. The originals are top 3, because its way harder to design an entire genre then be one of a dozen incremental updates.
I actually had tons of fun with scarlet and violet. The most fun I’ve had with pokemon since probably gen 5
same here, too bad that the 4th storyline with area zero wasnt included in the discussion. still its true that their problems are hard to ignore. im sooo torn when it comes to SV
I did too, but the games are still way way too easy and that’s a problem.

Fun video.
All those comments about X and Y and then they decide to have fun at the pokemon direct today. What great timing boys.
Pokémon spin-offs or starter tier list next?
never mind just got to the end lol
Best part of my day just hit
Don gets a standing ovation for that SV rant 👏
I can't argue with the rankings. In fact, the points the boys touched on simply reminded me that the most fun I had with the games was Pokemon Stadium back on the N64.
I do like the later gen version on the xo share since one of my biggest gripes with the older games was the grind. I'd catch a new pokemon that felt interesting but I couldn't use them because their lvl was way too low.
I can Holly hell one of reasons I hate old gen lovers are cuz they are so annoying
Fire Red is my personal favorite. It was my first and funnily enough i played it on an emulator.
No Pokémon Colosseum or XD?! These presidents have surely failed this country.
Champions and rivals teir list next for Pokémon?
Ghetsis’s Hydreigon is Level 54, not 62
People always talk about how Cythia was so difficult.
Video dropped 1 hour ago and it's automatically goated
This channel gets better and better.
Surprised you didn’t include the DLC expansions for the Switch games as a “third” game and separate on the tier lists. They’re pretty big and are a nice improvement by replacing the third game.
Scarlet and Violet DLC is really good lol
Rank gyms next after starters. Please
No colosseum or gala of darkness?
Here's my take on Sun & Moon and USUM; mainly the villains:
Lusamine & Guzma were easily one of the best evil team leaders at that point in time of their debut.
I feel like USUM also did some good with Ultra Necrozma, if you weren’t prepared for it you were F U C K E D
Frankly I appreciate having W. in the chat, just because 4 seems like a better number than 3
Ik im probably alone.
We definitely wanna see a president pokemon battle
Gen 1 paved the way for all the others. All 3 are absolute S tier. They built a formula where there wasn't one. Of course the others should be improvements, there's no excuse not to be, yet some of them still failed.
Damn, how’d they forget about coliseum and XD gale of darkness
One of my biggest issues with S/V was how they replaced the gym puzzles with these often half-assed challenges. Like rolling a fucking olive??? REALLY???? What a meme challenge. The challenges included:
- Roll a fucking inflatable olive
- Find a bunch of flowers around town (not hard, but a little tedious)
- Half-assed Where's Waldo
- An auction???
- Culinary Detective Game (admittedly this one was kinda fun in its own way)
- Literally no puzzle, just 3 battles in succession. For the first gym, this is passable, but for what's intended to be the 6th gym???? Seriously??? (Tbf the dancing Greavard was damned cute)
- The world's slowest quick time event challenge that drags on for far too long
- The world's easiest slalom minigame
This is going to be interesting.
Idea: tierlist for the different Mass Effect soundtracks
“ How is that the two game stat needed it most didn’t get a third version” heh wonder if we’ll get a ZA play though.
Ranking the witcher 3 Quests pls
The post game in Diamond and Pearl is great, you have a whole island to explore with a volcano and Battle Tower
Plus Giratina, Creselia, the Pixies
At the very least the post game is decent
Then you have no excuse being this wrong
I completely disagree. X and Y had absolutely zero depth or content. Megas were great and I liked some of the lore.
agree for mega evolution, but the game doesn't even use them until the champion and it's an easy sweep, not to mention some clear balancing issues they never addressed.
It was a simpler time; We played RBY and then pushed a hoop with a stick down a dirt road.
usum isnt a third version, they were in production before sun and moon
George's voice sounds off.
Not a criticism or anything. Just wondering how much training data you had for him vs the more modern presidents
Love this shit keep it comming!
Also the goated characters in the goddamn Game holy hell
Hey, I know most people don't consider them mainline but I really think you missed out on ranking Pokemon Colosseum and XD gale of darkness, personally I believe they Didi 3D right and had a lot of good and fresh stuff to bring to the table, and are worthy pokemon games, it's really a shame most people don't know about them
This is sooo well done.
It made me so happy hearing them all agree that Pokemon Emerald is S Tier.
Truth! I still play it to this day and I have a smile on my face the entire game.
I victory-punched my damned cabinet while washing dishes
Love the Gen 5 hype it’s my fav Gen as well
Gen 6 is my favorite generation but it dropped the ball on a great concept and evil team.
this video made me download an emulator to play the old ds pokemon games. I played since red, on the gameboy at 4 years old. I actually like the 3d stuff, ive never played them but it looks like what i always imagined the games to look like as a kid, I
To be fair, Cynthia was scariest in Pokemon Black/White when you wandered into the wrong house on the wrong season and she refuses to let you leave without a thorough spanking. Her team was bordering lvl 80
