Soldier is my fave just because of how well it can easily fit with basically any squad comp. There are so many squad mates with biotic and tech powers, playing soldier allows for an easy amount of balance. Plus with how little pure soldiers there are in your squads, it adds to the role play of the games. You’re Commander Shepard, a basic human soldier who has been trained on the razors edge to become the greatest warrior in the galaxy, all without any biotic or tech based powers. Just guns & grit. In ME3, the infiltrator is farcically god-tier. I play as a vanguard mostly, but infiltrator is wildly superior as a matter of combat effectiveness.
As a loyal Sentinel player, the class is so good. You can deal with any situation, including priming and detonating things by youself. Add on that Throw can basically get you a nice breather if people come up on you it's hard to beath. Though on Insanity it does feel less godlike, since even with tech armor enemy damage can rip your shields apart pretty quick.

Long story short: Soldier- 1. You're in the army now! 2. Combat vet. 3. Ole Reliable. Adept- 1. Use the Force, Luke! 2. How the mighty have fallen 3. Give it the ole heave ho. Engineer- 1. Question: What is an engineer? 2. Answer: A problem solver. 3. I AM THE OMNISSIAH! Vanguard- 1. A Dreadnought dreads nothing at all! 2. Don't hate the player; hate the game. 3. ZOOM-n-BOOM! Infiltrator- 1. Who needs a scope when you have laser? 2. Attack, fall back, attack again. 3. I am the Spy. Sentinel- 1. Swiss army knife 2. Walking tank! 3. Two swords are better than one.
These videos have been a godsend, my man. My partner just finished her first run through the series as Adept and, as we were watching through your missions ranked tier list, she was asking me questions about how all the other classes played. But for real, your talent with this exact type of content is unmatched. These transcend the gamer presidents meme and have become legitimately fantastic stuff.
Vanguard in ME2 insanity starts weak but turns into a god real fast. You get IFrames from shield break and charge, and with max CD reduction you get crazy uptime on just being immune to damage. Sniper nests are still annoying but the Kasumi gun early helps a lot with them. Charge, shotty, punch clears almost everything. By mid game the only thing a well built vanguard has to fear is charge bugging out.
The 130% damage boost on your first shot makes ME3 infiltrator with a Widow or a Javelin or a Claymore the most busted class in probably the entire trilogy. Also you have a 3 second cooldown no matter your weight if you cloak and fire as soon as you can. It's so fucking op lol
I pretty much agree with this tier list besides the Engineer and Infiltrator in Mass Effect 1 not being in S/A tier... the Engineer can be almost as good as the Adept with the tech explosions and the fact that all the powers do health damage along with their natural damage, you could really put groups of enemies in a hard spot when used with good timing, and the Infiltrator can 1-2 shot enemies including sub bosses and bosses if you pour everything into the sniper stat and use the right weapon mods, yes it makes your character a glass cannon essentially but the point of that class is to take combat from afar anyways as long as you hit your shots you can take care of anything except maybe colossi because they have a lot of health for days but i know i damn near 2 shotted Saren with HE rounds. To be fair it was on hardcore not insanity so i could entirely wrong in this regard but its just from my experience. Fun video as always
My first character was an infiltrator and I don't think they get enough credit. They ranked the same as Vanguard in this list, but because they can decrypt in ME1, and because they can fight at any range, unlike the Vanguard, they are far superior even with biotic nonsense. Bypassing fights is broken, but not even nessisary, and when weapon choices get unlocked in 3, it really opens up multiple playstyles.
Mass Effect 1 is the only game where Sniper truly honors it's title, allowing you to pick off enemies from ranges where some enemies just cannot respond in kind. Combined with it's Decryption/Electronics and you can actually bring along anyone you want without consequence to your growing dragon hoard of loot.
@@kuronanestimareME1 infiltrator is kinda broken. With the explosive rounds, and all skills in sniper rifles, I was one shotting strong enemies. I could take on the geth colosus and armature.
@@mightybeniah7346 I can't stop myself from playing Infiltrator. It's just so good and fun, I love it every time... ESPECIALLY during the stand at the relic in Arrival in ME2. It feels super badass.
So I'm pretty sure the acolyte is an asari shotgun. Also overload is the single best tech ability in the game. Not only does it force reloads, it will also immediately blow up flamethrower enemies when they get to red health, even on insanity. It's part of why Miranda is such a good squad mate early on in omega.
im not one to usually say this, the basic soldier class was god tier. i truly felt like shepard playing that class. it was so strong. i played engineer and the others and it just felt like something was missing. that unbeatable feeling, that you cant be stopped. Infiltrator felt as close as you could get to ghosts in starcraft
Quite literally just watched through the full series of mission ranking for like a third time then this wonderful surprise pops up in my feed. Wonderful timing and honestly, I love playing as a Vanguard even on Insanity. It’s all about squad make up, Joe just sucks ass.
I've been a dedicated soldier player since ME1, but not gonna lie, ME3's multiplayer got me to check out the other classes, and man, I was missing out. Speaking of which, here's a video idea. ME3's multiplayer character tier list. It'll probably be pretty long, but I can see the 3 presidents making some good arguments about some characters. Just make sure the Volus is at S+ tier.
To add to mass effect 3 infiltrator. You can also use any weapon you want since tactical cloak ignores weight capacity and has its own standardized cool down (5 seconds I believe). So as long as you use cloak before shooting/using another power your power recharge will be 5 seconds even if you carry all 5 weapons.
I’ve played the Mass Effect trilogy countless times, but I’ve only ever played two classes. Soldier and Sentinel. Started off as a soldier and eventually switched and stayed with Sentinel. All about defense.
Soldier in ME3 can proc the ammo effect on enemies with concusive shot and then trigger them with a follow up concusive shot assuming cooldowns are low enough. With around 1 sec cooldown you can just spam this the entire time without having to shoot at all. Maybe boring gameplay wise but the explosions never get old.
Hey, random thing, watching this video and hearing comments about Vanguard inspired me to begin making a homebrewed Barbarian subclass in DND inspired by the Vanguard. And making it has been really fun, so thank you for the inspiration!
I usually play Sentinel and I can confirm that it isn’t good in ME1 but it class almost doesn’t matter in ME1. But Sentinel is an absolute tank in ME2 and ME3. And the Tech Armor is OP as hell! Don’t have anymore Medi gel? Just use tech armor? Need to charge through an area or just want to skip the fighting? Use Tech Armor and run straight through the line of fire. Your regular armor really weak? Just keep tech armor on cause you can use it so often. Getting surrounded? Use Tech Armor as extra protection while you dart into the line of fire to find new cover. Low on ammo? Use tech armor, when enemy bullets destroy the armor it creates a powerful knock back explosion. Tech Armor ensures that you are never backed into a corner, no matter the situation. Tech Armor and the entire class in general is OP as all get out. It combines some of the deadliest and coolest biotic powers with easily some of the best tech powers. It is pretty much Vanguard but with fewer biotic abilities and the bonus of OP tech abilities. If you are playing on insanity difficulty you need to give Sentinel a shot. Easily my favorite class in the series.
Late, but soldier got robbed in ME2 where it's at its strongest. Mattock's fire rate isn't slowed down by adrenaline rush, and it still gets the damage amp.
Finally a tier list that I think I agreed with in near totality. I'm an Infiltrator through and through. I cannot get over how fucking good the ability to turn invisible is. Especially for ME3, the final fight on Insanity with all the banshees and everything, Only way I've ever managed was running past them to hit the button on the turret.
I love your videos man, say it once and will say it again, you make me be a better ME fan, thank you for pointing us in the way of legendary knowledge. All hail L. Jenkins!!
Honorary mention to shotgun infiltrator for being the only other viable shotgun main other than classic vanguard. I was one of the early trailblazers using it in ME2 and immediately started maining it on Salarian infiltrator in ME3 multiplayer. Nothing was as satisfying as running up as a salarian assassin wielding the heavy krogan claymore like some cursed fusion of salarian and krogan warfare.
Definitely agree with most of this. Adept is god tier in one. I often don't use it because it's game breaking but, it is a great power trip. I usually go sentinel in one for jack of all trades build. I usually go infiltrator in 2 because snipers are great and with the invisibility it's OP as hell; gives you opportune shots and if the enemy gets close you can run away with it. Cloak saved my ass numerous times. And Infiltrator in 3 fucking slams because of all the amazing sniper rifles.
I have this idea of this series where George or Bill are just getting into Mass Effect and Barack, Donald, and Joe guide them through the games in their own games. ... Did I say this already??
So... My role-playing to change classes after ME1: Engenieer: In ME2, basically Willson wanting to screw with Miranda's plan, however Shepard enjoys it so much that he perfected the craft, usually hook up with Tali or Garrus. Infiltrator: Is the one class that the suicide squad lacks (Legion is an assassin and Kasumi is just... Kasumi). Adept/Vanguard/Sentinel: Usually with eartborn/colonist Shepard that was a Soldier in ME1, Cerberus gave new tools to it's new project and considered his personality to choose the class (Paragon=Sentinel, Renegade=Vanguard, Split=Adept) Soldier: To be the template from where they build their troops.
Just a general rule for anyone who wants help deciding if they want shorter CDs or more damage, it's generally better to cast more abilities than it is to have stronger abilities, especially when you go to higher difficulties. Casting Warp twice will be better than casting an empowered warp once, for example. Especially on classes with low ammo weapon types like SMGs and pistols.
This is amazing 😂😂😂 The first class I ever played was adept and did really well but then I discovered Sentinel, Infiltrator and Engineer. The one I recently finished was Vanguard and it was probably the easiest run I’ve had but I’ve loved all of them. The only one I’ve never played is Soldier.
Ah, the Grissom Academy mission. I tried for at least a half hour to clear it when I realized my squadmates had glitched and stayed in the room behind me the whole time haha. Did clear it on Insanity though.
Been waiting to for this for a while. So my two cents after playing these classes through the trilogies on insanity. Soldier: Absolute juggernaut in ME1, Discount Max Payne in 2. Detonation and DPS machine in 3. Adept: Bioware was on red sand when they made them in ME1, Nerfed horrendously in 2, mad bomber in 3. Engineer: Not that great in ME!unless you have AI hacking maxed. Can lock down and shred most defenses in 2. Combat maestro in 3 that can control the battlefield. Vanguard: A match made in heaven in ME1. Shotgun Wizard! A raging bull in ME2 thanks to charge. But sadly snubbed due to wonky targeting. ME3: Its potentiak fully realized IF you play smart. Know when to charge, when to tank, and watch out for sync-killers. Infiltrator: the last thing you'll never see in ME1. ME2: taken literally thanks to cloak along with some speed run strats! ME3: now you can nuke from long range and close range! Sentinel: Flexible AF. You want to debuff or crowd control, they on it. The pistol and lack of marksman is a fair trade. ME2: Flexible tank that can shred any protection and is a walking bomb. ME3: Just fantastic. So many ways to deal with enemies and theres even a way to make yourself temporarily invincible using defense matrix, tech armor and the sentinal melee kill skill buff on their fitness tree. You can do the Superman pose in front of a cerberus turret. Also, Joe's gaming skills are as a good as his diplomatic skills. Which explains a lot.
I'm writing this before seeing the rankings so I can declare that the Adept is my favorite. I don't care where it ranks, my Shepherd is an Adept. Now, regardless about how I feel about the rankings, this was another awesome video.
The one thing i was kinda hoping the remake would do was give each class a unique interaction like the Engineer. It could be easy two for each game, soldier giving a speech to the marines being attacked by Rachina. Adapted could be the one putting up the barrier in the suicide mission.
Engineer in 1 is awesome. It literally turns enemies off. You turn off their guns, their powers, and shields. You can't be stopped like the adept in 1.
I wonder if they actually played Engineer in ME1. You can hack Geth and drones among all the other things that engineer can do such as neural shock. Not my favorite class but a close second to infiltrator.
my first playthrought of the 3 games was with engineer, its really fun seeing your powers grow throught the game, and a surprise for me discovering that engineer is so op on 3.
I think ME1 Soldier should be higher while ME2 and 3 Soldier should be lower tbh. ME1 sentinal also seems a little high when compared with Adept since I think they share alot of the same weaknesses, but other than that I mostly agree with what's been said here. A good potential follow up video would be on the ME3 multiplayer characters if you've played it, since some of them introduce new and interesting abilities and playstyles.
PrimeRadiancy back again with another President's banger. It'd definitely be interesting to see a ranking of all the bonus powers. Lash is just too good, and is godlike on a Sentinel. It's also hilarious with the shield piercing evolution
Im so glad sentinel is getting more love in recent years... not only is it a combination of tech in biotics which gives you an answer to every problem in the series... its easily the most survivable class in the entire game with tech armor almost breaking the game... if you never played it its definitely worth a once over in the triology
Vanguard + Venom Shotgun with Reduced weight for 200/198% cooldown reduction you can get 18 000 points in thr Arena mode Easily , completeing it within 1:20 minute.
For those who want a recap: Soldier - A, B, B Adept - S, D, A Engineer - F, A, God Vanguard - God, C, S Infiltrator - C, S, God Sentinel - A, God, S Best class per game: ME1 - Vanguard (God) ME2 - Sentinel (God) ME3 - Engineer / Infiltrator (God) Worst class per game: ME1 - Engineer (F) ME2 - Adept (D) ME3 - Soldier (B)
I was sick last night, so waking up to find you had uploaded another banger of a video really lifted my spirits. I've never played a Mass Effect game but still find all your content entertaining.
I've only done one playthrough (finished last week), and it was all Soldier. I played mostly on Hardcore and almost entirely forgot to use Adrenaline Rush.
For sentinal. It is the tankiest class in the games. You can stack tech armoR AND barrier before a fight. And during the fight whenever your shields go down, you just alternate between those 2. I was able to never have to worry about cover as sentinal. I would just stand in the middle of a room and constantly be casting tech/biotic spells and reapplying shield as needed. No need for cover, no need for guns.
Also in ME1 , If you first played soldier and unlocked assault rifle then you can choose it as a unique ability when you play sentinel and you become unstoppable

I second that boss fight! My first play through was with vanguard and that boss fight caught me completely off guard
Reminds me of Tela Vasir in ME2. Amazing.
Long story short:
Soldier-
1. You're in the army now!
2. Combat vet.
3. Ole Reliable.
Adept-
1. Use the Force, Luke!
2. How the mighty have fallen
3. Give it the ole heave ho.
Engineer-
1. Question: What is an engineer?
2. Answer: A problem solver.
3. I AM THE OMNISSIAH!
Vanguard-
1. A Dreadnought dreads nothing at all!
2. Don't hate the player; hate the game.
3. ZOOM-n-BOOM!
Infiltrator-
1. Who needs a scope when you have laser?
2. Attack, fall back, attack again.
3. I am the Spy.
Sentinel-
1. Swiss army knife
2. Walking tank!
3. Two swords are better than one.
Not gonna lie, I've played soldier on all my playthroughs and was about to start a new one. This vid came in clutch. Probably gonna go with Engineer
Same here. Playing ME1 as soldier currently for the third time but I'll choose something else in the upcoming games.🤝
Agreed, they’re helpful and entertaining.
Infiltrator is so busted, and just gets stronger as the trilogy goes on
The 130% damage boost on your first shot makes ME3 infiltrator with a Widow or a Javelin or a Claymore the most busted class in probably the entire trilogy. Also you have a 3 second cooldown no matter your weight if you cloak and fire as soon as you can. It's so fucking op lol
Where my Sentinel Gang at?!
Dead like Kaiden in ME1
Sentinel is underrated
I’m here
Offed Kaiden on Virmire so I can be the one and only.
“You’re in sniping range Joe”
Oooo that didn’t age well…
So I'm pretty sure the acolyte is an asari shotgun. Also overload is the single best tech ability in the game. Not only does it force reloads, it will also immediately blow up flamethrower enemies when they get to red health, even on insanity. It's part of why Miranda is such a good squad mate early on in omega.
The Acolyte is a heavy pistol, you're thinking of the Disciple the semi-auto Shotgun.
@@primeradiancyI look forward to walking dead michonne season 3 and 4 videos 👍👍
Miranda is the goat the whole game anyway.
im not one to usually say this, the basic soldier class was god tier. i truly felt like shepard playing that class. it was so strong. i played engineer and the others and it just felt like something was missing. that unbeatable feeling, that you cant be stopped.
Cloak's CD is based on how much cloak you used.
I’ve played the Mass Effect trilogy countless times, but I’ve only ever played two classes. Soldier and Sentinel. Started off as a soldier and eventually switched and stayed with Sentinel. All about defense.
The infiltrators cloak can be seen as defensive too as it stops enemies from attacking during it
infiltrator and vanguard are the most unique/fun classes, at least in ME2 and ME3
Do a Mass Effect Race/Species Tier list includes ones not used in Squads, you can excluse Humans if you choose.
Soldier best class anytime any play through
Hey, random thing, watching this video and hearing comments about Vanguard inspired me to begin making a homebrewed Barbarian subclass in DND inspired by the Vanguard. And making it has been really fun, so thank you for the inspiration!
20:21 bro almost sniped like kennedy last for the 2nd time
Never thought it would be the Presidents who convinced me to finally give up Soldier and have fun playing an Engineer, but here we are.
Infiltrator in ME:3 with the weapon loadout being the Kishock Harpoon Gun, Blood Pack Punisher, and M11 Suppressor is an unstoppable god
Everyone knows that Soldier is the chad class
Sentinel was broken in 3. One man army.
I gave myself a shotgun in me1 and it makes sentinel fun for me, like a vanguard that spits out a sabotage and overload once in a while
Finally! Sentinal gets the respect it deserves! 👏
Let's go best president ai channel
Always wanted a comparison that’s enjoyable to watch
Donald teasing Joe with the sniper joke didn't age well.
YESSS I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!!!
7:52 JOE DO NOT COMMIT BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE BIIOTIC GOD
I love your videos man, say it once and will say it again, you make me be a better ME fan, thank you for pointing us in the way of legendary knowledge. All hail L. Jenkins!!
On an unrelated note, Don would 100% use his mugshot as his pfp just for shits and giggles.
Mass Effect Trilogy is one of the only games where I want to complete the story with every single class.
The problem with shotty infiltrator in ME2 is giving up the best sniper. It's a tradeoff many aren't willing to take.
Little did we know, Donald would in fact be able to play Sentinel with his eyes closed and smoke everyone in ME2
Definitely agree with most of this. And Infiltrator in 3 fucking slams because of all the amazing sniper rifles.
me1 adept being a power trip is very real I can attest to that
Gotta go with Don here, you dont need crowd controll if there isnt a crowd
I have this idea of this series where George or Bill are just getting into Mass Effect and Barack, Donald, and Joe guide them through the games in their own games.
...
Did I say this already??
I believe you floated the idea before, the opening to this video was somewhat of a test for something like that.
@@primeradiancy It does seem like a pretty cool idea. Like the noob's reactions to say, Sovereign, Bring Down the Sky, or Arrival.
So... My role-playing to change classes after ME1:
Engenieer: In ME2, basically Willson wanting to screw with Miranda's plan, however Shepard enjoys it so much that he perfected the craft, usually hook up with Tali or Garrus.
Infiltrator: Is the one class that the suicide squad lacks (Legion is an assassin and Kasumi is just... Kasumi).
Adept/Vanguard/Sentinel: Usually with eartborn/colonist Shepard that was a Soldier in ME1, Cerberus gave new tools to it's new project and considered his personality to choose the class (Paragon=Sentinel, Renegade=Vanguard, Split=Adept)
Soldier: To be the template from where they build their troops.
'you don't understand how much Barry rides for sentinel'
The only one I’ve never played is Soldier.
solider is actually pretty fun
I was originally a Soldier player, but then Infiltrator pulled me in and I haven't touched another class since, lol...
I love how we all agree Obama is in charge of these calls.
Genuinely using this as advice for what to pick as my class thank you presidents 😂
Time flies when watching these videos! Good stuff. Great refresher for someone with over 300 hours in each agame.
I loved replaying 2 as an Infiltrator. It's hilarious to run through the Collector Vent section and only killing like one enemy.
I love the tier lists but the presidents should do a full play through of the trilogy
I have outstanding news!
Thanks to the almighty algorithm for suggesting me this channel! I'm addicted!!!
my first playthrought of the 3 games was with engineer, its really fun seeing your powers grow throught the game, and a surprise for me discovering that engineer is so op on 3.
The real strength of soldier in ME1 is that you get heavy armor, which looks badass and has some of the best sets.
Ok I just found this channel and I have to say I haven’t laughed so much at a video in a long time, great work
These videos always mention things I didn't know, and I've been playing these games for almost 10 years.
PrimeRadiancy back again with another President's banger.
It'd definitely be interesting to see a ranking of all the bonus powers. Lash is just too good, and is godlike on a Sentinel. It's also hilarious with the shield piercing evolution
I remember lashing kai "estrogen soyboy" leng around Tim's room as an adept. Best ability in game, no contest.
Still mad they did our boy Kai Leng so dirty. Everyone who read the books was so hyped from that trailer shot.
I normally leave reasonably detailed comments about things but I'm going to put this simply... I love these!
Im so glad sentinel is getting more love in recent years... not only is it a combination of tech in biotics which gives you an answer to every problem in the series... its easily the most survivable class in the entire game with tech armor almost breaking the game... if you never played it its definitely worth a once over in the triology
Vanguard with death field in ME3: Unbeatable.
Infiltrator with Marksman in ME3: Farcically unbeatable.
Vanguard + Venom Shotgun with Reduced weight for 200/198% cooldown reduction you can get 18 000 points in thr Arena mode Easily , completeing it within 1:20 minute.
For those who want a recap:
Soldier - A, B, B
Adept - S, D, A
Engineer - F, A, God
Vanguard - God, C, S
Infiltrator - C, S, God
Sentinel - A, God, S
Best class per game:
ME1 - Vanguard (God)
ME2 - Sentinel (God)
ME3 - Engineer / Infiltrator (God)
Worst class per game:
ME1 - Engineer (F)
ME2 - Adept (D)
ME3 - Soldier (B)
I love how ME3 Engineer is the reward given to the player for picking it and dealing with it in 1 & 2. From Zero to Hero it’s The Engineer.
I was sick last night, so waking up to find you had uploaded another banger of a video really lifted my spirits. I've never played a Mass Effect game but still find all your content entertaining.
Vanguard, Soldier, Infiltrator, Sentinel, Engineer, then Adept.
S S A A A, and C Tiers respectively .
I've only done one playthrough (finished last week), and it was all Soldier. I played mostly on Hardcore and almost entirely forgot to use Adrenaline Rush.
Just what I needed before bed 😎👍
Mentioning the widow I hope you end up doing a weapons ranking. I know that one will take a long time but between that and armors I’d love them
I've watched all the presidential tier list vids from this channel several times now.
Solider in maas effect 2 isn't boring its reliable and consistent if battletech has taught me anything being good enough is ok
I hope Biden never beats Grissom Academy. It’s the best running joke of these videos.
Played as soldier in every game, been playing it for three years and only played soldier. First time playing sentinel, fuck yeah.
My favorite class is the Infiltrator. Big Sniper rifles, cloak and the ability to set bad guys aflame!
God I love Infiltrator...
7:50 idk Joe maybe I want to play a class that can make all these magic space wizards eat my bullets proving no matter what gun always win
You did adrenaline rush dirty in mass effect 2, taking heightened at rank 5 practically makes the game a point and click adventure
As someone who loves the sentinel class I see this as a total win.
