My favorite Japanese female drummer is Senri Kawaguchi. She is an amazing Jazz fusion drummer. Also very young. You can find an amazing drum solo of her on drumeo.
Senri Kawaguchi is on most folks' short list for best drummer _anywhere_. Generational talent...
She my favourite Japanese drummer as well and one of my favourite drummers period. I think she actually is about the same age as Junna (give or take a year). Kanade Sato is an other great, young Japanese drummer.

Btw. Junna started to play drums when she was 15... She was originally in charge of percussion in a brass band, and she wanted to start playing more. So, she spoke with her father about the opportunity to play drums. Then, with her dad, she got hooked on playing drums in a nearby studio....

Junna is going on tour with Fate Gear on their European tour in July. Stand in for the original drummer that can't make it. Junna is a session player and she plays with different bands that needs her! Serious question: Why is everyone so ga-ga over this young lady (and nothing but praise), but so many people want to dump on El Estepario--same song ... What gives?
Since you’re a drummer, it’d be nice to have some more technical commentary than “ooh”, “ahhh”, “she’s good”, etc. You have an opportunity to use your expertise and be better than the typical generic reactor that adds nothing of value to the original content.
Well that would be an analysis not a reaction.. If so it should be labeled as such as they are longer and unless you're into the technicals boring.. I like his reactions because he's a drummer and just reacts..
@@tommyo2450 if he doesn’t leverage his background/knowledge as a drummer when commenting, then being a drummer is actually irrelevant to the content he’s making. At the end of the day though, if you enjoy the content and he’s happy with his content, that’s all that matters. I can (and do) watch other drummer reaction channels that lean more into the analysis.
She was in a band for a short time called Trident the song I know of she is in is Voltage. The drummer of Dragonforce actually reacted to this Junna cover also. So many talents thanks for the reaction.

Agree with you Will. Her most recent challenges met comprehensively include David Garibaldi, Tower of Power, What is Hip, and Vinnie Colaiuta with Sting, Seven Days - that's in 5/4. She has been gigging since she was 4 and has awesome musicality. She inhabits a number!

For a few years now I have fallen in love with the Japanese rock and metal scene and the ones that stand out the most are their female bands that have amazing drummers. Five stands out a bit more to me. Junna - who you just saw, Haruna - drummer in Lovebites, Akane Hirose - BAND-MAID, Tamu Murata - Nemophila and the inspiration for most female drummers in Japan; Nao Kawakita - drummer for Maximum The Hormone. All these bands are really flying the flag for making great rock and metal and they are definitely worth checking out.

You've already been told about her former band Trident, and I can only emphasize that this band is worth listening to with Junna's successor Nagisa. (The MV for 'Continue' for example).

I have been playing drums for sixty years and Making a living as a session drummer for the last 45years and still am. She is only 11years old when she did it. Have seen her perform with Fate Gear on Thursday 20th July in London. I can report she is better than this MV. She is just incredible. The sound she was getting from a three piece kit was unbelievable. Fate Gear were awesome as well. Captain Mina and her crew were beyond awesomeness.

This issue to highlight here is the audio quality, when compared to that of El Esto............. (Mr. One handed drummer. Not going to try and spell his name at the mo). This sounds like it's played in a plastic box or empty room, not particularly easy to hear while enjoying. Makes the said alternative seem like pristine quality audio, doesn't it??

No, she wasn't. She didn't even play the drums at that age. She is now 26 or 27. I think you are 10 years wrong, she was probably 24 since the video is 3 years old.
She started with ガールズロックバンド革命 (Girls Rock Band Kakumei), the precursor to Trident in high school. Their first EP was in 2015. So let's say she was 16 at the youngest in 2015, it would still make her 24 now and 21 during the video.
She is animated in all her videos and truly loves smashing drums.
She is nothing less than phenomenal I had to stop the video just to catch my breath I wish I had that kind of energy
