- Teaching Kids how to memorize Psalm 23: Sami Cone teaches parents how to use hand signs to teach their kids Psalm 23 - excuse the appearance, I just got over pink-eye!
While this isn't traditional American Sign Language, Sami uses hand gestures to go along with each verse of Psalm 23, making it easier for kids to memorize scripture.

Thanks for the video. Is this ASL sign language? How young were your kids when you started?
J DM You are so welcome. It is not completely ASL, though many of the signs are. My kids were two and four when we started and it took us about six weeks to work through it with them.
This was great, thanks, I've been looking for "techniques for memorising text" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Yiyevi Ponevi Approach - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.

Please leave kids out of religion
I would have loved it if my parents waited until I was maybe 15 and then introduced me to multiple religions and had me read multiple religious texts.
I don't know if I know God exists or if the idea that he exists has been nailed into my head until it became fact.
And I don't like how controlling Christianity is.
I mean for one thing you are telling parents to have little children memorize something that pretty much says "I need to follow blindly", second: if I leave the church I have to face an eternity of agony, nashing of teeth, grinding of nails.

And if you think that not raising your kids to be Christian means that they will be less moral then I just want to point out to you that:
God committed mass genocide on multiple occasions
God people sometimes just because they rub him the wrong way
God not only hates Gay men, but wants them to be stoned to death
If you have ever done any work on Sunday then you should be killed in gods eyes (one of the ten commandments)
God actually advocates abortion, if the baby is a product of the wife cheating on the husband
I don't advocate cruel and unusual punishment, let alone for eternity, let alone for just not believing in that specific God
Rape and torcher isn't in the ten commandments, but "keep the Sabbath holy" and "there are no gods before me" (so if you are born into the wrong religion you are screwed) are.
Again, I am not saying to abandon religion, I'm just saying to wait until they can think for themselves, ask questions, decide what THEY believe in, not what you believe in, but what they believe in, otherwise it's just blind faith
