    Thanks for this clip and the grid. I downloaded it and tried it, memorizing Jude, but I found there is not enough space for each letter of a few verses so I made myself a makeshift one. The one Ronald uses has 25 verses on one A4.Thank you very much for your videos and encouragement on memorzing whole books of the Bible. Someone in France is benefitting from your very hard work!

    Thanks for this idea! Just when I think I know all the ways for memorizing and reviewing, another comes up. I think this will really be helpful for me. I'm memorizing the book of Romans this year, and I'm on chapter 14 (the end is in sight!), and even though I'm starting late at using the grid, I think it will be super helpful to review the whole thing as I prepare to recite it before the end of the year.
    I've enjoyed your videos. I still think it's CRAZY that you're attempting to do the whole NT in a few years. I've done several books (Philippians, Sermon on the Mount, Psalm 119, James, Titus, now Romans), but you helped me set a goal to finish the New Testament and not just do a random book every year. I think I can do it in about 11 years (before I'm 50!). 11 years seems like so much longer than 2, but I'll be busting my tail to do it. I'm not saying that you can't do it (because I totally think you can and am cheering for you!)... I just am amazed and inspired. I consider myself a pretty fast memorizer, but not THAT fast!
    I have a couple ideas of people you could interview. I memorize primarily through song, and I love the work of Seeds Family Worship and The Corner Room Music, as well as humble TH-camrs like Abigail Houston/Melodically Memorizing. They'd be great for an interview. Another contact is Phil Walker, missionary in Indonesia, whose primary focus is encouraging scores of people to memorize Scripture through song. They sing in their native languages and also as a way to learn English.

    • @BibleMemoryGoal
      @BibleMemoryGoal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, Mary! I'm hope this ends up being useful as you finish up Romans. You can do it!
      Also, I appreciate the recommendations for people to connect with. I'm already in touch with Phil Walker but I'll have to check out Seeds Family Worship, Corner Room and Abigail.

    Simple and brilliant! A great memory 'game' AND makes my written notes shorter, more accessible, as well as providing the overview idea. Thanks! What if I used the blue for the 1st, 6th, 11th, etc verses? Would that work? Then you'd have the start of each chapter 'hinged' in your memory? Might try it.

    • @BibleMemoryGoal
      @BibleMemoryGoal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely. As with any memory technique, I think that it's something you always need to adapt to your own needs. If you want to make the 1st, 6th and 11th verses blue...then you do that!!

    Can anyone elaborate more on the usefulness of coloring every fifth verse? If your grid has five columns, then you can easily visualize every fifth verse already. It seems like it might be more beneficial to color code boxes based on things like a new section in the argument or verses that begin with a contrastive. In any case, thanks for all the great content!

    • @BibleMemoryGoal
      @BibleMemoryGoal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Trent! I appreciate not only the comment, but your ideas as well. While you're correct that the grid provides a visual cue already, I think the blue box just adds another dimension to help solidify the location in your memory. And I really like your idea of using this for more than just verse number location! I think "more beneficial" is subjective to each person who is memorizing, but it's a cool idea to create markers for different reasons.

    I LOVE THIS!
    Two apps, that I know of, uses the first letter for memorization, and it really helps me.
    -Bible Memory
    -Memorize by Heart (can use for more than scripture)
    However, The idea of being able to have a whole chapter on one page, whether on my phone or not is pretty awesome. Plus, doing it by hand would be faster than the way I'm currently doing it.
    I'm curious to learn how my mind will differentiate the blue boxes, since blue represents 5, 10, 15, etc.
    The gentleman is saying "a color" so I'm wondering if 5 can be blue, 10 be green, and so on.
    Ps- The Book of James, is currently my favorite book in the New Testament.
    A lot of the verses I've been using for the past few months to resist temptation, and stay close to GOD have been from the Book of James ❤️

      You don't have to, but since our brains tend to remember patterns, as you memorize you'll start to remember that verses 5, 10, 15, etc. are shaded blue. In this way, you can get a sense for where verses are within a text without having to memorize verse numbers. Does that make better sense?

    So Mnemonics? fairly simple, I memorized everything using Semiotics as a whole, given the fact that it's like a book of Philosophy with Mathematics and Geometry inside of it. Also Started with Hieroglyphs, than Babylonian Cuneiform, and after Studying Latin and Sanskrit, everything became a lot easier to understand and memories sense it's all somewhat polarities with pattern recognition built in. I guess in a sense, God is formless but can show himself in many ways throughout time and space. Like a dog always noticing it owner even if they dress differently, but sometimes people don't notice our creator when they dress differently. Very interesting use of Mnemonics though. Id rather use Mathematics and Symbolic understanding.
