At least for older generations, people weren't as prone to calling the police or getting them involved, except for medical emergencies. It's partially bystander effect (thinking someone else will do something) or wanting to do things on their own, without bothering others for help. I think people are more willing to rely on police now, but bystander effect still happens a lot - or worse, people just take photos/videos and just think, "wow, can you believe what's going on?"

I understand your feelings. I feel the same way… and yet, I choose to give the neighbor grace- he really didn’t understand what was happening to Taylor. It might have been Taylor leaving the apartment to search for her mother during the day that led to her being locked in a closet while her mother was at work. Whatever happened, because of what he didn’t do then and wishes he had done now, I’m sure that his inaction will plague him until his dying day. May he find a way to forgive himself. And may we all learn to SPEAK UP whenever we see something that isn’t right. The “inconvenience” of a police visit, and the anger your neighbor at you for you calling it in, are both far less punishments than the guilt I’m sure this man still carries to this day.

😢 and it is especially disturbing when the moms are seemingly functional and capable, Brianna graduated HS with good grades, and had a good record at work. She came from a good home, unlike many mothers who kill their kids severely abused or neglected by their parents. She removed her from child care just to let her starve and languish in the same pair of pjs? Even if the mom has all of the mental/emotional issues as the defense claims, she was still able to keep a full time job that likely had above average level of responsibility ( since she was military) and a roof over her head so she should have been able to at least give her daughter the minimum of feeding , clean clothes helping her learn hygiene

    • @DriedVix
      @DriedVix 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +91

Not defending child abuse at all. But after a child is a year old you can’t just ‘sign rights away’. You have to legally abandon them which is a crime in itself and can lead to fines, jail time, etc. Not to mention it’s a felony charge so it can greatly impact your life and ability to find a job moving forward. I’m sure if bad parents could simply ‘sign there rights away’ many of them actually would, but it’s not as simple as going to a fire station with older children. Some of them (like this woman I’m presuming) let the shame and stigma of needing help parenting keep them from doing what is right until the worst happens. Society creates its own demons at times.

If I had the time, I would have probably got the little girl some snacks and waited outside her door with her. I would also ask the other neighbors if this had happened before and if so, I'd definitely report her. Also depending on how long she was gone.
My best friend's neighbor left her children (3 and 5) home alone to go drinking, they were shouting from the window because she locked the kitchen and hadn't been back in 2 days- in that case my friend called the cops immediately and it was 100% the right thing to do.

There are insane numbers of children in America and elsewhere where children in Foster care are the victims of awful abuse and many many children taken into the system completely disappear.
It's something that has a lot of evidence and whistle-blowers but you won't find such exposes on mainstream news or TV.
Trafficking is the single most profitable illegal industry on earth far exceeding drxgs and even war, which is saying something indeed.
Corrupt governments are responsible for this disgusting evil. Its been the same since forever... the cia supposedly fights drxgs and drxg trafficking bit its been shown that in fact it was the cia who flooded America with cxcaine and the so called war on drxgs is in actuality a war on the people and a war on any independent group attempting to get their slice of the pie.
I'm going to state my probable controversial opinion that the so called "war on terror(ism) is a good example of what I'm saying - the war on terror is actually a war against anyone who won't voluntarily submit to the "democracy" of the USA and allies. The definition of terrorist is literally what the USA does in other countries. It destroys civilians including children with such atrocities as white phosphorus etc and yet if any group fo anything even a fraction of that horror, they will be named txrrotists . When it's obvious who the real ones are.
I know some will find what I've said a tough pill to swallow and might think I'm insane and need a tinfoil hat. However, being on this earth 50 years and witnessing what I have as well as researching some deeper subjects and becoming aware of what happens behind the scenes really does open the eyes to the truth. Its not true when people say the system's broken. It isn't broken, it works precisely ans exactly how it was designed to work. Which is absolutely and completely for the benefit of people other than the general public, those with all the resources, wealth and power. The system is there to advance their agendas by holding us back and keeping us in our place.
Anyone who is laughing at me right now I dare you to spend a month trying to prove me wrong by researching yourself.
Start with the residential school Queen Elizabeth visited in the 1960s with Philip. Look into the children that "disappeared" during a picnic the "queen" and her consort took the children on, which they didn't return from, never being seen alive again.
Look up some of the crazy info on child protection agencies (in America) that have been profiting from placing children in terrible situations and how many people who were good parents with no reason to lose their child but have them removed and never see them again.
The many good people who initially want to help and so begin a career with these agencies are soon educated on reality, how the system is set up to do the opposite of what it purports and how they're fighting a losing battle. That's why staff turnover is so high. They're underpaid,o overworked are up against the biggest hurdle of all - their own agency (in the form of bureaucracy).
So people please look deeper at things. Things are not what they seem ht in my opinion we are seeing more and more of this deception come into the light now and it Will continue to.increase as sadly will the awful evil things going on in this world.
I for one can't wait to go home. 😢

Be just as furious with the men who do not step up to be good fathers, the men who just plant their seed and then bugger off, the men who make no attempts to remain in their kids' lives once their relationship with the mother is over, and the men who do nothing around the house to prove to their kids that they matter enough for Dad to get off his arse and take part in actually raising them. I say these things as a man myself, having seen far too many other men do as little as possible within their family, lazily watching television while their partner does all the household and child-related tasks. Be just as angry with the so-called fathers. Raising kids is bloody hard, and doubly so when done solo.
I'm not excusing this 'mother's' actions in the slightest here. I have two kids, and I can't imagine locking them in a dark closet alone for hours each day, starving them and having to look them in the eye while eating decent meals myself, and listening to their whimpers of hunger in the night, as this 'mother' must have. The very idea is haunting and terrible. I simply maintain that the fathers need to be doing a hell of a lot more stepping up.

Because at the end of the day WE have the final say on who goes in and out of our vaginas! WE have the final say on who we let impregnate us!And I say this as a sexually active woman in a committed long term relationship.
It's our duty to reserve ourselves only for the men we genuinely love and grow a healthy bond with. Not for fuck fests like it's a damn hentai! your dude refuses to wear a rubber? Then YOU do the best you can to cover your ass and go on birth control, for your sake. If you don't want to do that? Find a partner who will compromise with you on condoms. And if that's too much work for you to do,then women just have no business engaging in sexual relationships period!
This is stuff we learned in middle school, but these foolish women out here that continuously spread their legs for Peter,Paul, and Mary with no precautions either don't give a damn or were never taught any better. Which results in unplanned children being treated like garbage or murdered like this angel in here. Agreed with part of this - but to correct you (because there are tons of misinformation about us) it is NOT free. We absolutely pay for childcare. However, we are blessed to pay very reasonable rates (like 90% of the world), instead of the sickening inflated rates in the US. And military daycares are far better regulated and demand higher standards of staff compared to most civilian daycares. The rooms are also small - if my son is missing a day, they question. Taylor would have been treated well in daycare so for her mother to deny her that, is disgusting. They would feed her, teach her, etc. All the things her mother denied her. So sad. Her mother’s BS about mental health - there’s no excuse. Bases & Tricare & commands provide ample support for counseling, psychiatric & medication, and resources. We have resources that literally give her NO excuse. Could have adopted, or covered the flight of Taylor to her mom’s if she didn’t have funds (Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society), etc. etc.

This girl could've been saved if the neighbor, family and daycare had contacted authorities. There are no words for this. It's beyond inscrutable understanding.

One thing I love about your channels is that you really let us know about the lives of the children that have been lost. Its nice that you dont gloss over them, as they were real, wonderful and important people.

I feel so bad for this baby. So many people care for her now ♥️ when no one cared for her when she was alive 🥺 thank you for covering and telling her story.
