Job description includes:
- Excellent understanding of the theoretical principles that underpin the design of great learning resources and experiences including the psychology of how people learn, user-centred design, multi-sensory design and accessibility.
- Able to develop learning solutions that tell a story, to depict and invite action and stimulate curiosity.
- Able to take input from a range of sources, applying critical analysis skills and creative techniques to create and/or curate clear and compelling materials for a wide range of delivery mechanisms and audiences.

Short brief of the role: ensure all contractual & service KPI’s and service level agreements with third party providers are acknowledged and met; coordinate and monitor the delivery of multiple small projects simultaneously; maintain excellence in customer service to the business and internal stakeholders. Whilst I am waiting to hear back, I have been invited for another interview (video interview due to COVID). This is an Asset Management Graduate Scheme, which is quite different from the direct entry jobs that I have applied for. It is for a change in career direction so I don't really know what to expect in this interview. However, they have made clear that it will be a competency-based interview.

Let me say thank you so much for putting the time and effort into this presentation.
This presentation has become my Bible, when preparing myself for interviews.
I felt so confident during the interview knowing I have prepared, and personally i think walking into a interview with a positive mindset is an important factor during a interview as it sets the tone.
The Presentation offers you the basic knowledge, and ways you should respond and structure your answers and questions during the Interview process.
The examples using S.T.A.R has given me a new way of thinking and with practice and consistency, I never doubted myself.
I was able to structure the interview in a way that I was allowed my to speak briefly about all the appropriate competencies that is appropriate to the position I applied for.
This I practiced a few days before my interview. I was more confident, more positive about my chances of success. You could tell by my body language, my voice and the calm state of mind, that I have mentally prepared for this in advance.
It's the S.T.A.R technique for me!!!!
Long story short, I was promoted to SME and i'm so grateful that i've found this video before my interview.

I've got an interview for scheduled care coordinator for the Scottish Ambulance Service on Wednesday. It's a call centre type role that involves taking calls from all sorts of people to organise scheduled (non emergency) transport for NHS purposes (to and from tests, consultations ETC. returning home after hospitalisation, things like that.) Then planning routes for the transportation vehicles taking in to account patient requirements such as mobility issues, as well as vehicle equipment and staff training and competence. Finally it entails the running of the planned route, solving any problems that arise on the day. It is largely a communication role, by phone, over the radio and face to face.
What specific questions would you expect to see?

I am having competency based interview next week Monday 22nd June for the post of Senior Personal Secretary.
following are the competency for the interview;
- Functional/Technical skills
- Integrity and Trust
- Customer Focus
- Planning
- Time Management
- Boss Relationship
- Career Ambition
- Action Orientation
I've not needed to be interviewed for a very long time. A promotion opportunity has come knocking where I will be interviewed next week against a VERY detailed and multi tiered competency value framework. I will likely be judged more about my adherence to these rigid competencies rather than how my examples outline my suitability.
I know that I'm suitable for the job, but this way of grading an interview TERRIFIED me! This video, however, has changed my perspective and I can see that by predicting questions and structuring my answers/examples I can tick off their evil arbitrary tick sheet to my advantage. I now see this interview not as something to be feared but something I can use to stand out against other candidates.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
In charge of managing the provision of consular assistance in accordance with current guidelines, for example visiting British nationals in hospital or in jail, providing support to family members following bereavement, a child abduction or custody matter, and providing advice and assistance following a rape or sexual assault.
Overseeing casework and managing to a satisfactory conclusion ensuring service standards are fully implemented;
Liaising with local authorities, members of the public and their legal representatives and British Government Departments in order to achieve strategic goals.
Designing, costing and implementing an effective outreach prevention strategy for the consular district and monitoring and reporting budget expenditure;
Proactively leading on consular issues at the High Commission, including representing the consular view at key internal meetings and activities;
Representing the British government at consular related events, including some public speaking duties.
Maintaining close links with local authorities including, but not limited to, law enforcement medical examiners, hospitals, morgues and mental health facilities.
Processing emergency passport applications.
Exceptionally, participate in call-out arrangements for emergency cases out of hours when our Global Response Centre in London requests additional support.
To lead, motivate and develop the Consular Team with direct line management of one Pro Consul.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This is awesome. Initially, I was jittery when I was told an interview I am preparing for is going to be competency-based. Having watched your video, I have the confidence to perform in the interview. Please can I have some examples related to a job as an officer in Public Health Emergency? The competencies required are 1. Moving forward in a changing environment. 2. Producing results. 3. Fostering integration and teamwork.

Thanks for uploading this video, I found it very helpful. I've got an interview this week for a Border Force apprenticeship. I've done some research and found a few people who have recently had an interview. By the sounds of it I will be asked two competency questions and the rest will be strength based. I will be getting assessed on these behaviours - managing a quality service and making effective decisions. Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

I have a counselling interview coming up, I have done 2 interviews and failed, really need your help please, most of the questions are based on:
1, How do you feel about being open and honest, talking about yourself ?
2, What can you bring to the course and classroom ?
3, What are your strengths and weaknesses ?
4, Why do you do feel you are ready for the course?
I answered all questions and there is a lot of competition, however I would like cemented
evidence in my brain and guidance so I do not continue failing, I have commitment, that
shows due to my effort, I haven't yet given in.
