I agree there is a cure for this disease. I've said that for years, watched my Father and brother die from this BS disease. It's in the pharmaceuticals best interest, as well as the hospital industry as a whole, to keep this cute away from the public. Our families suffer as a result of meeting a financial bottom line. I'm atheist, but if I did believe I know quite a few people in this industry that would be vacationing someplace that you would need 5,000,000 SPF I hope this young lady can give lung cancer the middle finger!
+Trews Detroit It is incredibly unfair to say such a thing. I'm going through terminal brain cancer with my sister right now and I'm very involved with her treatments. As I go through the research process with her doctors I'm learning more and more how complex it can be to treat cancer. There are no real cures because treatments cannot be standardized beyond chemo and radiation. People (and their cancers) are so very different and treatments would have to be tailored on an individual basis. Doctors do not have the resources, funding nor time to do that for every cancer patient. It's a sad reality but that does not change the fact that it's true. Yes there are cures out there but each cancer will react differently to it requiring extensive research, trials and studies. Therefore it cannot be called a cure.

I've had confirmed pneumonia 3 times this year with CT scans. A new node that wasn't in last descent CT scan. Bronchitis twice this year. Constant torso and backaches with pins and needles felling in left shoulder. Constant shortness of breath and routine fevers even when well. Sometimes 99.5° sometimes 101°. Wheezing every other month (not regularly) and dry unproductive cough a handful of times a day. I've smoked for 25years and am 38years old. I get another CT on November 11 and last one was Oct 5th. I don't know why the doctor hasn't diagnosed me yet. My white blood cells are off every test and I've dropped to 130lbs now with zero appetite. Frequent headaches too. But I rarely cough and can't see it being COPD? First pneumonia was in late Dec. 2015, or 10months ago. Will they hesitate to tell me cancer? What else could it be? Cause the pulmonologist hasn't told me yet. But I see him in two days, he bumped my appt up by two months, why? Am I dead? Why doesn't anyone know or tell me anything?
I had a doc tell me that they don't tell the patient until they are stage 2. They do the " watch and wait." I don't think that is fair? Let the patient make that call. That's stealing precious time in my opinion?
Melissa seems like a lovely young lady. I hope she made it, because the world needs more people like her.

Not all lung cancers are caused by smoking. Some are caused by breast, ovarian, or various types of other cancers. So don’t assume these people smoked

Small cell lung cancer has the poorest prognosis. I had adenocarcinoma which the Dr claimed it was gone but I am sick again!

Last artyrian blood gas test showed huge amounts of carbon in arteries. And CT confirmed Loboral Pneumonia, again. Forgive my spelling.
