- A really nice bass caught on my first ever drift on this wreck.
The shipwreck is tiny and just over 25 miles offshore in Lyme Bay and I'm in 60m of water with about 1.5 knots of tide and very little wind. My 150g JOKER Imp jig stays vertical really well but I get hit really quick and straight in!
This is just a small part of my day out offshore fishing with my wife, Ren. Please see the 2 main videos from that day, we catch some good fish on lures and jigs!
Please see my other videos for more slow pitch jigging and lure fishing tips.
These cracking rods and jigs are availble for purchase over at the JOKER online store here:

Thanks for watching.
Well done for putting him back
thanks, yes I like to put a lot of fish back and encourage my clients on charters to do the same when possible.
Nice jig bro... fish on 😊
Thanks 👍
Great jigs and great videos 🎣🎣
Thanks 👍😎
nice one matt....Those jigs look deadly .great sport on that gear .
Yes Rob its a great set up, all bits working together is key
Great tune and bass👌 do you only net them when they are over 15lb😂👍
haha, no if theyre close to 10lb I reach for the net! I just hate the assists flying around in the net it's a nightmare with tangles so try and lift them out, that usually goes to plan haha!
@@JOKERjigsandlures I hate using the net, sometimes you can get a 2nd drop
@@TheBassRacer yes time is critical when theyre on the feed and with pollock the longer out the water faffing about, the less chance of them going back down too.
Very nice Matt, what depths are you working these in on the wrecks?
Hi Alex, its 60m and a 150g jig, not really any wind at that time and about 1.5 knots. The braid is really important, the proper jigging braid is smooth and thin it helps the jig stay vertical longer and allows the jig to fall more freely too.
Nice, I picked some of these as my raffle prize at the BASS AGM, thanks for donating them.
Can I ask what the music is please?
Thanks for watching Jon and congrats on your prize! I'm sure you'll do well with teh Imp its a cracking bass jig. With regard to the music, i found it in my editing software, Im using Power Director 365 and the artist has a few tracks available, I used him on another of my videos too, this track is 'some many stories' by Rocky Dawuni
What reel is that?
hi its a Shimano Ocea Jigger 1500HG Limited. Because its the LTD version theyre almost impossible to find in the UK but the standard reel is very good indeed. I dont actually know the difference other than the colour! the newer F Customs have a fall control lever rather than dial so thats a handy upgrade. Thanks for watching
@@JOKERjigsandlures i wanted to ask also why so much slack in your line when u jig? U should follow the jig down with your rod tip. U can miss a lot of strikes like that since most of the bites are on the fall.
Nice ......... Recent ?
yes I got out a few days in Jan and did a series of videos then before the charter bookings started this month, just need weather now lol
@@JOKERjigsandluressame, had a two day window in early jan for some very good bass action ..... not found them in numbers since as the weather has been stinking , fingers crossed for some good weather at the end/start of the month. tight lines
@@tessilateddragonyes I managed to get out on Sunday and Wednesday just gone but not a single bass, some nice pollock though. thank you tight lines too and fingers crossed
@@JOKERjigsandlures we had a look sunday but the colour of the water was nuts big swirls of really dark water in dark water ! so much rain coming down the rivers....
@@tessilateddragon yes I think about 20 miles offshore is required!
