Slow pitch jigging in the UK for bass. Mix speed to entice hits when tide is slow, uk sea fishing
The third part of this perfect June day, slow and mixed pitch jigging. I'm half way home and it's the last wreck i'm going to fish at. There's almost no tide but the bass get bigger and some lovely dolphins come and say hi!
Im a charter skipper (Silver Halo Charters) with my own brand of fishing tackle (JOKER Jig and Lures).
All the gear I use can be found at my JOKER Jigs and Lures website or if you fancy a charter please message me in the comments or see my charter website.
Please let me know if you find my videos useful and if there's any other tips/methods you'd like to know more about?
Thanks for watching, please like and subscribe!! Cheers Matt.

Slow pitch jigging in the UK, is it better on a neap or spring tide?
มุมมอง 1.4K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Some slow pitch jigging and just 1 drift over a wreck in Lyme Bay on a neap tide. A nice big fish caught, but I really prefer the tides to be much bigger and faster for my jigging and lure fishing. It helps concentrate the fish into tighter areas and they feed harder, it just up to the angler to get the jig into that area and fish it with the right action. Neaps are easier but everything is muc...

Hi Scott thanks for you're comment. So all the JOKER jigs are made of lead so even when the paints removed they dont rust. These are bigger jigs are for very deep water, not so much in the UK. The other JOKER jigs are more suitable for UK use, most commonly 100 to 180g

Hi Robert thanks for the comment and question. Im right handed and use a right handed overhead reel. I started fishing at 9 years old with a fixed spool reel and that was left hand wind so its what I used for a long time before moving into boat fishing. The vast majority of reels were right hand wind so I had to switch, Im so used to it now and actually hate using overheads with left hand wind but the fixed spools I still find fine!

hi Jeff,. thanks for the comment. Throwing the fish in head first hopefully gives them some momentum to get there head down and swimming back down. Nice video matt .the joker mayhem is a great fish producer. We were trying the 80 g ones yesterday as I left my 60g in the bloody van . I prefer the 60g at my neck of the woods ,they seem to have that nice flutter in the shallower water colum in the bristol channel. Having said that the faster dropping 80g caught us bass once the tide started to run. Verry addictive style of fishing that's for sure .no booms or long traces to tangle .

Umm I think you may get away with a hook on each end but not just 1 hook. If only 1 where would you attach it, you going to miss fish for sure

haha, no if theyre close to 10lb I reach for the net! I just hate the assists flying around in the net it's a nightmare with tangles so try and lift them out, that usually goes to plan haha!
