I’m a woman. Live in Illinois. Don’t fish. Why do I love this channel so much?? Love your enthusiasm and the fact that you take your sun protection seriously. Love the fish cam too.
I appreciate how in the first 2 minutes you tossed out a rig that will catch “anything and everything out here” it’s hard being a rookie fisherman trying to find setups that simply “catch fish” I can’t target certain species, I’m just down for anything. I like this. Thank you.
It really isn't all that hard to target certain species. - Figure out where does your target spend most of it's time, shallow water? deep water? sand bottom etc go to an area that has those attributes. A google search should give you the info on your desired fish. - Have appropriate gear (line, rod strength, hook size) for that targeted species. Bigger fish = Bigger hooks & stronger gear. Lastly you want to imitate what that fish eats. If you're targeting flounder or other sand bottom fish, you might wanna give worms and similar bait a try. If you're targeting Trout you might wanna try flies, Pike you wanna try bigger top water baits like frogs or small mice etc... At the end of the day, it's a lot of trial and error. You have to remember that that same fish will bite on different things depending on weather, water color, temperature and general mood. So what doesn't work today might work tomorrow and vice versa. Lastly, even if you do everything "correctly" it doesn't guarantee that you will ONLY catch your desired species. You never 100% know what will bite your hook. Hope that helps you out! GL!!!
A spoon or paddle tail will catch almost anything. If you can find fishbites near you get them I used a dbl drop rig live shrimp on one hook fishbite on other I got more hits on fishbite. I live Atlantic coast florida
Thanks for tossing the GoFish cam in. I know we fisherman appreciate ANY chance to see fish behaviors underwater as you've shown. Glad you had a good day fishing and I wish you many more.
Man, I love your videos because they give me a little fishing trip...when I cannot go....and you actually seem like you would be a lot of fun to go fishing with....
Great underwater footage if you could try using squid for bait with the cam I believe that fish can't resist the squid specially during those times when they stop biting other baits
Sandflease and fishbites work better than dead shrimp. Wont catch shit with little shrimp pieces unless you get a jack crevalle or red swim by. And squid wont catch anything edible. Fish destin beaches for 20 years.

Your videos are amazing, congratulations you are a great fisherman!👍🎣😊 Your pompano catch was fantastic We fish a lot of pompano here in Brazil, this fish is wonderful.
I've never salt water fished before, but always wanted to. Every time we go to Florida, it's just to see the grandsons. They're too little to take fishing and I highly doubt if their parents ever want them to. *sigh* The camera underwater was great! Nice to see a variety of fish.
I hope the camera on your line turns into a series. Very cool. You could strap a camera to a dock piling with lights and film fish biting too. A bag of chum with a camera watching from below could be cool also, maybe from a pier or jetty. Joey Antonelli and John Skinner have some great underwater camera set ups and videos, but there are lots more ways to use them.
I watched this video and don't even think I blinked. My Dad was a great fisherman. I did it with him all the time, now that he passed,I just can't go anymore.I subscribed right after it ended.
I love your videos. I appreciate all the work you do to make them happen. I truly enjoy seeing all the different types of fish that you catch. Thank you for the underwater video of the fish just swimming around. Truly enjoyable.
Watching the video of the fish in the surf is highly educational. It shows that fish can be in the area, but just not interested in feeding. Was this in the afternoon by chance? Inquiring minds want to know! These sort of videos have become my favorite!❤
You're living my dream! I have two condos on the Okaloosa island, I need another one to consider retiring, All I want to do is fish and make a YT channel like yours. It seems like fishermen love watching fishing videos, and I can't imagine doing anything else. I's a software engineer, so it is a little hard to go from working to retiring unless you have a passive income setup. Love watching your videos!!
Appreciate it! One secret that allows me to do what I do is these videos are just as passive as a rental property without the hassle. I have 500 videos churning money every month without really having to do much. I think the passive side of content creation is overlooked.
@@AnglerUpTv I was curious how you started, so I saw your first video. Yeah, that Batman and Robin one. LOL, now that was funny! I really liked the bloopers too! Me. A trip to Walmart in Melbourne, FL, a 5 gallon bucket, some expensive shrimp from the grocery store - $50 dollars total. Feet in multi-colored sea shells, soft sunshine, so beautiful I almost wept. Caught two Pompano. A day I will forever remember. Now back in East Tennessee.
Wow you are the only one that I have seen use a go pro. To show underwater footage. And also your narrative epilogue on all the different fish, especially seeing different fish that we do not have here in New Zealand 🇳🇿

I’m up in North Carolina and fish a lot around the Outer Banks and have a lot of success with blood worms no matter what the conditions are. Just found your channel. Great stuff
Great video, I lived in Ft Walton Beach for 8 years at Hurlburt; this made me go way back when the kids were small and the water was gorgeous and warm. Thanks for the memories again.
Cool video. That some nice underwater footage right there and the fact that you saw two tarpon is insane! Love the channel. Can’t wait for another video!!

I don't know much about saltwater fishing but I do know if ladyfish won't even bite cut bait it's time to pack it up and head to the house... that fish cam is so freakin cool you need to drop it by a rig offshore!!!
Beautiful flat beach, all my beaches are deep shelving stone beaches I would love to put a go pro down to see what is actually happening a bit worried that mr big Bronzie will gulp it though.
Excelent!!! Although I am a Biologist and I dive frequently, I never cease to be amazed by underwater shots, specially about fishing, I really enjoy your videos!!, best regards from Mexico
Love the underwater camera view! Cast it earlier next time for some hook ups! Looking forward to fishing the gulf in our retirement. So many options of table fare!
I read an article about a fisherman who was having a hard time getting his bait beyond the surf break. His solution for a sinker he used a golf ball, He attached to his surf casting rod, opened the bail, grabbed his driver and teed off.
Love the video and the video of the fish!! I hope you appreciate the beauty of that sand you are walking on.......used to vacation in Destin growing up! Not sure there is any prettier sand. You looked like you were dressed for fall fishing in VA!! 😋 Have a great week bud!!
You were distracting people to look at the fish on the fish-cam and there was a cool little crab there going in and out of his hole under the bait and into the sand. That was cool.
I love the underwater video. I love all your videos! I would like to see a catch cook an preparing the fish cutting them up from the whole fish to the frying pan. Lol
Love to see how y’all cooked up your catch in that beautiful beachside condo. Melanie looked like she was up to something in the kitchen. Loved the fish cam the pompano, and learning about whitefish!
I used to beach cast my waterwolf when it came out into deep shore in the UK.....filled me with dread throwing 100 quid of camera out there. I only lost one and wish I'd put bigger safety measure on like you have lol

Just recently fished in gulf shores, didn’t catch one fish. Was using shrimp and just had a lot to f little fish eat my bait. May try a smaller hook next time.
Was that a tarpon at the 11:19 mark? It didn't look like the other lady fish passing through. Amazing how many fish swim around the bait and just nibble at it.
Hey from Destin! Trying to figure out where you were without all the tourists on the beach. Henderson State Park? The beaches between FWB and Destin on 98? Interesting to see that Fish Cam and all the fish out there. Thanks!
Great video Brant the little rod was a hopping today can't complain when you put a meal on the table pretty amazing how many different fish even close to shore like that really enjoying the beach fishing👍
Hello Brant, I don't know if you will even read this? But im just curious about the "little" rod you were referring to in the beginning of the video. That rod and reel looks like something I've been looking for. If you read this, or anyone, could you tell me their names please?

Or Bloodworms. I know a lot of people don’t like using them because they’re messy and got the teeth and all but it’s a great surf bait.
Can never go wrong with squid 😊
dead squids on beach always attract the catfish mostly

Maybe the better question would be at what stage of the tide, fish typically from my experience drop off the bite at the top or bottom of the tide.
I love your channel man. It's so easy to watch and your content just gets better and better. Hopefully I'll run into you while we're fishing one day.
