1 buttercream, 3 flavours! This homemade cooked buttercream with flour for cakes with flavour is the perfect not-too-sweet buttercream frosting recipe, you can make different flavours with 1 buttercream: chocolate buttercream, vanilla buttercream, and mocha buttercream (chocolate and coffee buttercream frosting). You can make this cooked buttercream with flour for cakes and cake decorating, you can also make this cooked buttercream for cupcakes at home. These simple buttercream flavour ideas are easy and smooth to pipe with, and it is an easy recipe to make at home as they all share there is a chain of their own recipes. These flavoured buttercream recipes are sometimes called 'not too sweet buttercream frosting' because they are less sweet and mild. These are also named 'ermine buttercream frosting'.

INGREDIENTS:
FOR THE BUTTERCREAM
1 1/4 cups or 300 ml milk
2 tbsp or 30 grams of flour
2 cups or 230 grams of icing sugar
1 1/4 cups or 250 grams of butter
FOR VANILLA FLAVOUR:
1 tbsp or 8 ml vanilla essence
A little touch of purple colour (if you want white buttercream)
FOR CHOCOLATE FLAVOUR:
1 cup or 150 grams of chocolate (you can use more according to your taste)
FOR MOCHA FLAVOUR:
1 tbsp or 15 m water
2 tsp or 4 grams grounded coffee (you can use more or less according to your taste)

0:24 1 1/4 cup or 300 ml cup milk
0:35 2 tbsp or 30 gr flour
0:53 Boil on low heat
0:59 Keep whisking
1:12 The liquid will come to a boil
1:19 Remove when it becomes a thick custard
1:30 Pour into a bowl and let it cool
1:43 Wrap with some cling film
1:52 Remove the cling film
2:00 Blend fully to remove lumps
2:13 The custard will become liquid
2:32 Sieve 2 cups or 230 grams of icing sugar
2:50 1 1/4 cups or 250 grams softened butter
2:58 Pour the icing sugar
3:17 Scrap from the sides
3:38 Beat until light and fluffy
3:45 Pour the custard
3:57 Beat at a low speed
4:07 Beat at high speed when lumps are small
4:15 Beat until stiff
4:20 For vanilla buttercream: 1 tbsp vanilla essence
4:43 Beat to combine
4:48 The vanilla buttercream is ready!
4:56 Add to a piping bag with any nozzle
5:11 For the chocolate buttercream: 1 cup or 150 grams of chocolate
5:18 Microwave for a few seconds + mix
5:23 Repeat
5:28 Mix & microwave every few seconds, otherwise the chocolate will burn
5:37 Mix properly to remove lumps
5:45 Pour into the buttercream
6:10 Scrap + mix
6:38 For mocha buttercream
6:46 2 tsp or 4 grams coffee powder
7:13 Add to the chocolate buttercream
