  • Using a touch up pencil kit, wet sanding and polishing to fix a nasty scratch. A good temporary solution to keep the rust away and improve the look of the car (from 5 metres+)

    Excellent job mate, big red will eventually repainted. To keep the condition in place I'll be buying kit like the one you have.

    Well done indeed. The result is certainly good enough for now. I would be happy if that were as bad as it gets.

    Wonderful and you are so sweet! 800 grit wet and dry sandpaper, and what is the "solvent" you mention? Could you list the various products you used, for us totally uninformed unhandywomen?

    • @Involvod
      @Involvod  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The solvent was brake cleaner, but even water will show you the same thing. It's been a while since I saw this video, but I got the touch up pen from Skandix using the paint code, I think that was it 😃

    • @Involvod
      @Involvod  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh and of course the polishes, I used Menzerna cutting compound which is great stuff and worth the price, and a generic light polish with some wax in it after that, Sonax I think. The sanding block was just the various grades of wet and dry sandpaper from the hardware store wrapped around a flat lighter 🙂

    • @Involvod
      @Involvod  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@englishgrandad3298 I don't really have the facilities to do it so it will have to stay that way for now, but I think the whole car could use a professional respray in good time, there's so many little scratches and dents etc

    Every time I do the second step , sanding the paint ( even after 24h ) the fresh paint is gone , if I add too much paint is tacky , I don't know what to do

    • @Ridcul
      @Ridcul ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here...very frustrating, i will try the instructions to the letter and avoid side to side buffering with the cap, and instead do the up-down pressure. If that doesn't work i guess i got a bad batch of paint? Maybe is too diluted ..no clue.
