Missed a couple if things. 1. Darth Nihilus drained the world of Katarr where the Jedi met, not Dantooine. 2. The Jedi (other than the Revanchists) didn't wish to intervene in the Mandalorian Wars in large part due to a force vision Master Vandar received.
Vandar is on the jedi council in dantooine in KOTOR... (I said kotor 2 above... oops) I always got the impression he was an instrumental part of the council for bringing revan back to the light side.
It actually is the reason, I believe this is just because Yoda and Yaddle were raised and grew up on their home planet and there is some reason I cant recall why their species basically has a hard time wording a sentence in a proper manner & I believe this dude probably spent most of his younger years away from their home planet

I like some stuff of Legends, but overall it was a real mess with massive powercreep and a weird obsession with one family. Another is the Descent of Exar Kun, the Fall of Ulic Qel-Droma, and the Rise of Nomi Sunrider. What a saga that would make. As for after Death Star II, the X-Wing series by Stackpole and Alston. This series takes the character of Wedge Antilles and treats him with respect, unlike the new blasphemies churned out by Darth Kath and Darth Mickey. (Totally personal opinion on this last point; but, blast it, the X-Wing Series Wedge was one of the coolest characters that made one interested in the rank and file Rebels. Imagine how many sat around the screen, playing the OT and trying to identify these other characters.) Sit vis vobiscum.

The Jedi and Mandalorians never realized they were always the left and right hand of the same ideology. The Jedi sought passive honor, while the Mandalorians chose aggressive honor, to frame the argument in simple terms. They are the perfect complement to each other.

Lets be real folks The Old Republic had far more crazy stuff happening than the current one. Not to mention every jedi and sith had light saber and force abilities that made current day practitioners look like kids playing with toys. I would love the full backstory of Darth Traya as Kotor 2 was my favorite of the series playing as the Exile (another underrated character). Her force abilities such as the one to let her presences go undetected whilst standing blatantly in front of them was one of the most interesting ones as it appears to have been the same technique that Darth Sidious used on the jedi council. The Only really good thing that the disney versions gave us was the fact they made Revan Cannon having sith troop squads names after him. Therefore … prepare for Old Republic to be adapted into a live series. Releasing a prequel storyline narrative out of chronological order seems most natural for this series it does.

I always liked Darth Nihilus, I love the scene in KOTOR II when it reveals him and he's on the bridge of the Ravager. A destroyed capital ship he commands his fleet from and holds together with the force. Super bad. I like the character design of Malak as well, they both look bad ass.
Anybody else starting to wonder if the prophecy of the one is real if it wasnt about Palpatine instead of Anakin because it seemed Palpatine set all these things in motion that if it wasnt for him we wouldn't of had Vader, Kylo, order 66 or Rey. It was him that essentially through his manipulation and downfall that cause the force to be in balance.
But that's part of the problem with Disney's sequels. They made the whole saga about Palpatine, and Lucas had said it was about Slywalkers. Kennedy did not keep true to Lucas vision and treat his character's with respect. She threw out his character's, ignored all previous work, saying basically it didn't exist.

@the Stupendous Wave to my understanding Enclaves/Academies and temples were pretty common in the Revan/Bane era. After the events of Path of Destruction the first book of the Bane Trilogy the Order seems to have began a restructuring phase which centralized the Jedi Order but even up to Yoda's era however less prominent there were still Enclaves, Academies and temples. For instance Jorus C'baoth and the Outboand Flight project was a move to branch the order out and train force sensitives in remote areas of the galaxy like the Enclaves/Academies in past eras. Correct me if I'm wrong but your video kinda makes it seem like Vandar and the Enclave was a rare thing and I would agree with ya if you were talking about yoda's era but during Vandars time Enclaves/Academies and temples were not uncommon to my understanding.
It's been a while but if I remember Kreaia wanted to destroy the force. Imagine if she was succesful, no more Vitiate and no more Bane and no Star Wars trilogy.

I remember some of this a bit differently from the games KOTOR I and II The Jedi masters died on Katarr, the Miraluka colony where Nihlus attacked and killed everyone except for Visas, who he made her "aprentice". The Jedi Enclave on Dantooine was bombed and destroyed by Malak during the Jedi Civil War. That's what I remember, anyhow

The Jedi Enclave described in KOTOR 2 took place on Miraluka, the local species of which had a strong connection to the force and could see through the force without their eyes. Nihilus thus not only drained an entire enclave but a planet full of Force Sensitives. After which the reminaing counsel members scattered until brought together by the events of KOTOR 2 and Meetra Surik, who had made a force connection to Darth Treya. Treya killed the remaining Counsel members and revealed herself as a Dark Lord. By the End of the series, the only Jedi left in the Galaxy was Bastila as well as the followers of Surik who also became in touch with the force.
I have not read any of the old Republic books (in general anything timeline wise before episode 1) WHile i know of the characters, the story is new to me I will have to read them one day. But Vandar sounds like the inspiration of Baby Yoda almost. At least the part of a member of the Yoda species that will not be raised by his species. Thanks for the history lesson.
I believe the character's story holds enough history and backstory to add to the very fabric of the Star Wars universe, I strongly believe that the contents of this video and characters alone are far more then enough storyline to create another Star Wars trilogy, the fact that the Sith band together in larger groups than just master and Apprentice is precedent enough to create a movie on its own, just a thought but perhaps pitch the idea to Disney
No, Master Vander was green with shorter ears. And it wasn't Dantoonine th as t he died, it was the Miraluka homeworld of Katerr that he and other jedi died. Along with every Miraluka on the planet due to they all use the force to see. Visas Marr says this in KOTOR II. Fun fact. 3 planets in the coruscant system is named Vander 1, Vander 2, & Vander 3 in honor of Master Vander

Vandar is all legends, idk if any canon works have even reached as far back as his time.. except maybe Old Republic video games

I remember Vandar, he was a jedi master during the time of the Jedi civil war who survived Malik's assult on the jedi temple on Dantooine as he is present at the end of the war to congratulate Revan and the crew of the Ebon Hawk, including Bastila.
This is what needs to be done more on the old republic!! And characters like this guy !!!!

I always liked Darth Nihilus, I love the scene in KOTOR II when it reveals him and he's on the bridge of the Ravager. A destroyed capital ship he commands his fleet from and holds together with the force. Super bad. I like the character design of Malak as well, they both look bad ass.
Anybody else starting to wonder if the prophecy of the one is real if it wasnt about Palpatine instead of Anakin because it seemed Palpatine set all these things in motion that if it wasnt for him we wouldn't of had Vader, Kylo, order 66 or Rey. It was him that essentially through his manipulation and downfall that cause the force to be in balance.
But that's part of the problem with Disney's sequels. They made the whole saga about Palpatine, and Lucas had said it was about Slywalkers. Kennedy did not keep true to Lucas vision and treat his character's with respect. She threw out his character's, ignored all previous work, saying basically it didn't exist.
I have not ever heard of Vandar and YOU have a SPECTACULAR day!

@the Stupendous Wave to my understanding Enclaves/Academies and temples were pretty common in the Revan/Bane era. After the events of Path of Destruction the first book of the Bane Trilogy the Order seems to have began a restructuring phase which centralized the Jedi Order but even up to Yoda's era however less prominent there were still Enclaves, Academies and temples. For instance Jorus C'baoth and the Outboand Flight project was a move to branch the order out and train force sensitives in remote areas of the galaxy like the Enclaves/Academies in past eras. Correct me if I'm wrong but your video kinda makes it seem like Vandar and the Enclave was a rare thing and I would agree with ya if you were talking about yoda's era but during Vandars time Enclaves/Academies and temples were not uncommon to my understanding.
It's been a while but if I remember Kreaia wanted to destroy the force. Imagine if she was succesful, no more Vitiate and no more Bane and no Star Wars trilogy.

I like your video about master vandar. It explains many questions I have had since playing the Kotor 1 and 2 games many years ago. What I don't understand is why ashoka tano forgot about both bandar and yadel in her comment in season 2 that Yoda was the only member of that species she had ever known about.

The Jedi masters died on Katarr, the Miraluka colony where Nihlus attacked and killed everyone except for Visas, who he made her "aprentice".
The Jedi Enclave on Dantooine was bombed and destroyed by Malak during the Jedi Civil War.

my favorite council member got betrayed in revenge of the sith and his name is mace windu along with a few others as well sidious and vader got seriously powerful an they both knew how to use the force im a vader fanboy as well as a darth sidious fanboy as well
The Jedi Enclave described in KOTOR 2 took place on Miraluka, the local species of which had a strong connection to the force and could see through the force without their eyes. Nihilus thus not only drained an entire enclave but a planet full of Force Sensitives. After which the reminaing counsel members scattered until brought together by the events of KOTOR 2 and Meetra Surik, who had made a force connection to Darth Treya. Treya killed the remaining Counsel members and revealed herself as a Dark Lord. By the End of the series, the only Jedi left in the Galaxy was Bastila as well as the followers of Surik who also became in touch with the force.
That was dope, didn't know much other than that there was a third yoda beside the two we saw.

I have not read any of the old Republic books (in general anything timeline wise before episode 1) WHile i know of the characters, the story is new to me I will have to read them one day. But Vandar sounds like the inspiration of Baby Yoda almost. At least the part of a member of the Yoda species that will not be raised by his species. Thanks for the history lesson.

I believe the character's story holds enough history and backstory to add to the very fabric of the Star Wars universe, I strongly believe that the contents of this video and characters alone are far more then enough storyline to create another Star Wars trilogy, the fact that the Sith band together in larger groups than just master and Apprentice is precedent enough to create a movie on its own, just a thought but perhaps pitch the idea to Disney
No, Master Vander was green with shorter ears. And it wasn't Dantoonine th as t he died, it was the Miraluka homeworld of Katerr that he and other jedi died. Along with every Miraluka on the planet due to they all use the force to see. Visas Marr says this in KOTOR II. Fun fact. 3 planets in the coruscant system is named Vander 1, Vander 2, & Vander 3 in honor of Master Vander

Small correction: Nihilus destroyed the planet Katarr, not Daantoine. The Daantoine Jedi enclave was destroyed during the war against Malak.
