@@presi08AMA It makes sense for Dooku to be there(at least in spirit). He is the former padawan of Yoda, as well as a Sith. The entire scene seemed to represent Yoda’s inner turmoil, and regrets, so I doubt that actually was Dooku(though the Force did allow Anakin to come back, so could be).

There’s theories that Dagobah was haunted by a Fallen Jedi, and student of a Jedi Master who was the same species as Yoda, that was slain on the world; so, it may have harbored animosity towards Yoda in particular, there’s other theories that Yoda himself was that very Jedi Master, and the Fallen Jedi wanted revenge, and was his first padawan.

Every once in a while something decent is added to Star Wars that isn't some shoe-horn or retcon, at least not entirely. That cave being strong with the Dark Side was probably taken by people to mean it was deceptive illusions and corruption. The most biting thing about the darkness is how much truth it conveys, including the most uncomfortable ones within oneself.

Yoda was able to stand outside the cave without going mad. Starkiller went in and when he came out, he noticed how much dark energy came out of it and wondered how this little green alien can just sit there and not be affected. Starkillwr deduced that he was either insane or a very powerful force user so he ran his ass out of there 😂

Makes complete and total sense. As the dark cave of Korribann is a crucible, that forces Jedi to confront and face the darkest parts of themselves as it was with Yoda and Luke. Though good to see that it can also be helpful as it was here in allowing Yoda to face his guilt and move forward from the mistakes of the past to train the Jedi's last great hope.

I always wondered why Yoda was so different in the prequels compared to the original trilogy. I just assumed he was going a little crazy because he had been alone on a hostile planet for years, but the dark side nexus nearby clawing at his psyche on top of all that definitely explains why he doesn’t seem like he’s the same Yoda from the prequels in episode five.

Great video and breakdown for sure because the cave shows the darkest parts of ourselves and Yoda while being all wise would most definitely fell guilt for all that had happened as he looks back and realizes he could have stopped all of it if he continued to learn. Not every Jedi is the same each needed something different in life to help them grow. Hence why Yoda seemed to give Luke very different lessons then what he would have given someone from long ago like Dooku or Obi Wan.

Didn’t Dagobah have another ghost of a Fallen Jedi, a mysterious man, who was a student of Mid (a member of Yoda’s species), that was slain on the world and cursed it..? Some people theorize that Yoda was ‘Mid’, and changed his name after having to slay his first student. To be haunted and mocked, with the form of another fallen student in that of Count Dooku, is a cruel insult.

And as soon as you got to the part where Yoda was being pulled under those skulls, I literally lost it & broke down. I have never told anyone , but that’s EXACTLY what it feels like.. all that guilt, the failure of being able to save those …. Not being able to sleep, seeing people who you know are gone.. it’s so messed up. But ; I’m so grateful cos hearing how GM Yoda was helped by the light side & comforted by hope, also helped me to see.. & also to remember important things like, I’ve paid my dues , that I’m a father & husband , that I’m loved.. omg imposing it again.. sorry bro, but I think I’ll send this now before I chicken out & delete it. Honestly, the cave seems less dark, which even the movies don't make it out to be. As all it did was test him, and remind him of the true path, pushing and pulling on him to accept the right way of the force. After all, his vision of teaching one so old, was the forces way of showing him the truth, that he must teach the new skywalker, and face his fears.

Yoda's advice was sound; It was Anakin clinging to one particular vision of the future (and in response, making uniformly terrible choices/giving up on true principles to prevent it) that, ironically sealed Padme's fate and his own.
A mirror to Yoda's vision narrowing down to hubris/complacency/the belief he had nothing more to learn. Sidious could not have succeeded solely through planning and sorcery without Yoda clouding his own vision in these ways.

Yoda actually holds more blame for the slaughter of the jedi than Anakin did .
Yoda himself said " for 800 years trained jedi , I have . " So the jedi losing their way and becoming arrogant tools of the corrupt republic all happened under his watch .
Not to mention the fact that the Wills showed him visions of the clones slaughtering the jedi and he did nothing.
He knew that the jedi's power had diminished and he did nothing .
A clone army mysteriously appears just when the jedi just so happens to need them , so instead of questioning it ........... he brings them into the Republic .
Yoda destroyed the jedi order , not Sidious or Anakin .............
The Sith just put them out of their misery.

Each Jedi is accountable for his/her own choices and actions.
When a Jedi becomes a Knight -he has to be alert to the dangers present, and dangers yet to be revealed.
What good is a Jedi becoming a Knight and he can't hold his own against any threat, that is what Jedi Training is for" always remember your Jedi Training.
Don't blame your Master for your short-comings, this" is why you must train all the time (to keep your edge). Simply because you completed your Jedi Training doesn't mean you stop training! Don't make excuses" you have to be ready for ANYTHING (YOU'RE A JEDI KNIGHT)!
When you become a Jedi Knight" your Jedi Training will be completed, -your Master is no-longer responsible for you, you will either stand or fall with your own strength (even be you true to The Jedi Code) THIS is how all Jedi have come and gone.
YOU have to strive to make your Master who trained you -PROUD that you were his Padawan.🌈🤓

I thought it was because he was supposed to finish his training to manifest himself after his death as a force ghost.

The fact that he spent YEARS alone.. such a thing USUALLY alone by itself does that to most people an would assume most alien beings too. Would think all of this is LESS of the Nexus which supposedly he was so Lightside strong it DIDN'T EFFECT HIM. Allegedly.
seems to me it's guilt over all that happened with the war an the OT WHILE he was trying to get his motivation an spirit back especially near the end. Just prior to meeting Luke An perhaps even Starkiller in Legends an helping to guide them both as the Master we know

Yoda refused to make Anakin a Master but put his side piece Yaddle on the council. In any modern organization he would have been removed from power if not arrested.

Like Qui Gon said, "Had he been born in the Republic, we would have identified him early." As in before forming an attachment to his mother. He would probably have been taken from her before he had solid memories of her. He was a child, yes, but one with issues that had he not been born where he was wouldn't have happened.
Luke had the same issue. He started his Force training as an adult instead of as a child, when he would have been more open to learning. He has his "rules" for the galaxy, ones that using the Force would contradict and thus make it harder if not impossible to learn.

The problem is that he thought he's the main character. He was just as arrogant as the Jedi Council, and help create a war across the galaxy.

I believe the title of this video is misleading. The cave was not his undoing, it was his final test to be ready to teach Luke and become a ghost. Having to watch those demonic visions and letting go of his guilt and grief is an astonishing story.

This is why I hate these kind of stories where you're looking at Yoda after the fact. They make it seem like Yoda is actually grown but you can see in the movies that he's just as dogmatic as he was in the prequels. He refused to accept responsibility for his part in the Sith schemes and only blame them. You can see that in the dialogue of The empire strikes back.

  • @scottmccrea1873

Yoda _SHOULD_ blame himself for the destruction of the Jedi Order because he's responsible. He's the most disastrous leader the Order ever had. He led to a level of destruction never before seen in the Galaxy.
His arrogance blinded him to the Sith standing a meter in front of him for 10 years.

Good for the cave tbh, Yoda fucked up a lot and really should have to deal with his mistakes; if he hadn't messed up so many times then the Jedi order wouldn't have fallen.

A good story basically, but I think that when one is tormented with demons of darkness and guilt, only God can get you out. Of course in Star Wars world, that is the Force. A special grace has to be given, a salvation. You cannot do it yourself.
