As a collector of antiques and artifacts, if i could have any of Palpatine's expensive possessions, I'd probably choose the statues of the four sages. Not only are they cool looking, but being from the dawn of the republic they'd be at least 20,000 years old
One thing I'm kind of surprised about is that while the Jedi are against relationships, I'd figure the opposite of that would be to indulge in lustful relationships as Sith. I haven't seen any of this though from the Dark Side. The Jedi live more simple lives, and abstain from sex. Only makes sense (to me) that the Sith would indulge in wealth, luxury, and sex.
A smart Sith would have nothing to do with the light/dark thing. They'd use their power to set themselves up in a company so that they're not so high up that there's eyes on them but high enough that wallowing in opulence wouldn't be out of the question with them having force abilities being their biggest secret. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Wallstreet legend. Darth J. Powell was a Dark Lord of the Wallstreet so powerful and so wise, he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create... money. He had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could even keep interest... from the ones he cared about *Anakin:* He could actually... save people from paying for their debt? *Palpatine:* The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. *Anakin:* What happened to him? *Palpatine:* He became so powerful, the only thing he was afraid of was inflation... which, eventually of course, happened. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice margin called him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from debt... but not himself. *Anakin:* Is it possible to learn this power? *Palpatine:* Not without a money printer.
Palpatine doesn't need to pay huge amounts of money to have something. In his book Shadows of Empire, he included an employee who accepted a higher paying offer into his retirement program.
You should really know your protocol, young padawan ;). A king is "his royal majesty". Whereas an emperor is always styled "his imperial majesty". An imperial majesty outranks a mere royal majesty (i.e. king). In the old day a king wasn't even adressed as majesty, but as "your grace". But as the European kings grew envious of the Holy Roman emperor, they copied the title of majesty, necessitating the present-day distinction between a royal (e.g. King Willem of the Netherlands or King Charles of the UK) and an imperial majesty (e.g. emperor Naruhito of Japan).

I absolutely lovvvved this video, definitely do more topics like this. I really love getting down to minutia of the star wars universe its political sphere its finances the technology and also the characters and what happened between major events why they do what they did, how they do what they did, their motivations but also how thier day to day actions amd how those actions led into these massive iconic events we all know and love. I know alot of people hate all the politcal stuff in episode 2 bc it makee the movie drag in the middle but i think it wouldve actuwlly been really compelling and interesting if it had been spread over like say a couple seasons of a snow. Showing the different senators and their motivations and the back stabbing subterfuge but also good senators trying to do what they felt was the right thing but also the ones that appeared on the side of good but had secret nefarious agendas for personal gain, to a lesser than palpafine as hes the master of that but still probably compelling and huge in scale bc its over a whole galaxy. Even papa palps in all his immense power couldnt rule the galaxy without tons of delegation. Sorry i began to rant but thats why i love tnis channel bc it goes into the little tiny things i wonder about the star wats universe its an almost 50 year old icon of pop culture so it has so much buried deep in the cracks and layers that isnt explored that much or that deeply by other channels
I really love all these videos! Thanks for the great work!
Also, the ways in which the narrator is pronouncing some words is driving me up a wall. 😆
Who was wealthier? The House of Palpatine or The House of Count Dooku?
Probably Dooku. Ruling an entire planet for generations will have to compound quickly.
@@thomassaxon8254No way
Merry Christmas Stupendous Wave. And great video too.
Happy holidays!
@@TheStupendousWave---thank you
Merry Christmas can't wait to see that video when palpatine took over and changed the Jedi temple
So the Jedi were jealous of Palpatine because he had that exclusive apartment and most likely Anakin got to go there.
He’s the richest man alive, and yet they still couldn’t get Vader properly fitting boots.
Merry Christmas!
I hope you do a Video about more Objects of great value.
I think I would only want. His shuttle. & the create of metal. That survived the destruction of Alderaan.
Amazing video
I would’ve been happy with just a Super Star Destroyer, a customized Eta 2 Starfighter, a penthouse on Coruscant, and a lake house on Naboo.
Palpatine is rolling in 💰
Id expect his military expenditure was psyed gor by the treasury, tax payer's. Senate.
Palatine sold his family home ( convergence) before he became ambassador at large. And senator. . He got an luxurious apartment in theeed
This is a instant stupendous wave classic
Papa plas had bands fr I think I remember hearing somewhere the cost of 1 clone was around 200000 credits. I could be wrong
Scimitar: Sim - it - tar
Now you need to make a holocron on Marka Ragnoses wealth after putting this idea in our head. Very interesting video. Keep it up!
*Anakin:* My Lord, how did you finance the Death Star?
*Palpatine:* Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Darth J. Powell from the FED?
*Anakin:* No.
*Palpatine:* I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Wallstreet legend.
Darth J. Powell was a Dark Lord of the Wallstreet so powerful and so wise, he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create... money. He had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could even keep interest... from the ones he cared about
*Anakin:* He could actually... save people from paying for their debt?
*Palpatine:* The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
*Anakin:* What happened to him?
*Palpatine:* He became so powerful, the only thing he was afraid of was inflation... which, eventually of course, happened. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice margin called him in his sleep.
Ironic. He could save others from debt... but not himself.
*Anakin:* Is it possible to learn this power?
*Palpatine:* Not without a money printer.
See! They say billionaires can't be ethical, look at this sextillioniare!
Could you do a video called, what was Palpatine’s credit score?
Ah yes, can't forget the good old Skimitar.
sidious lightsabers will always be one of the major ones to me
Palpatine doesn't need to pay huge amounts of money to have something. In his book Shadows of Empire, he included an employee who accepted a higher paying offer into his retirement program.
Imagining Palpatine in a pool is…unsettling
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS
You should really know your protocol, young padawan ;). A king is "his royal majesty". Whereas an emperor is always styled "his imperial majesty". An imperial majesty outranks a mere royal majesty (i.e. king). In the old day a king wasn't even adressed as majesty, but as "your grace". But as the European kings grew envious of the Holy Roman emperor, they copied the title of majesty, necessitating the present-day distinction between a royal (e.g. King Willem of the Netherlands or King Charles of the UK) and an imperial majesty (e.g. emperor Naruhito of Japan).
I'd also imagine he was able to use mental manipulation to get an advantage in business dealings.
Spice and twileks
Bro got sextillion credits and walk around in a dirty ass towel🤣
Palpatine the GOAT
How many 1/2 naked Twi'leks would he employ to dance for him at once...or better? 😄
Do anything the f*ck you like when you're an insanely wealthy, poweful and Emperor!
That’s actually pretty funny. Since it’s been confirmed that Darth Sidious is attract to Twi’lek women.
@@kingnamor777 that explains why Shaak Ti was often guarding him...
@@jayo1212 lol😆 nice one
I bet one of his ships was a "love boat"!
@@fsdf4311c He had kids.
Merry Christmas all
Happy holiday
11:43 By beginning days, I'm assuming you mean post-Ruusan Reformations, as the Sith Empire was completely unknown to either the Republic or the Jedi Order at the time of the Republic's founding circa 25,000 BBY.
As Empress, we could go on marvelous vacations, eat fine food, and sit in the Jacuzzi. Even more fun, we can zap things together.
Scimitar- si -muh-tr
Thanks for enlightening me on how much Palps was worth; I knew he had to get the money to fund the clone army somewhere. I wonder if we’ll ever get a film adaptation of Palpatine’s life.
I would want Revan's mask and lightsabers
Damn, Palpatine is so extra. Which is funny once you realize that all you have to do is shove him down a flight of stairs to end his reign.
Hyped for the Temple vid
What would I want out of all Palps' stuff?? One of his ships.. the Scimitar!
Have scrolled the comments for somebody wanting an island to steal life force and torture kids into Inquisitors but.. no sickos here haha
A man of culture I see.
the more i binge the more calling us 'acolytes' gives me PTSD. please stop using the word lol
You’re soft
One of his big ships with lots of technology to reverse engineer.
I wonder if they ever did a TV show during Star Wars Legends kind of like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and did an episode for Emperor Palpatine?
Having the massed wealth of the galaxy and the accumulated wealth of the Sith over a thousand years. For Sidious was nothing more than a means to an end, enabling him to buy and maintain power in many different forms and means throughout the empire visa either new dark side knowledge and power or military might of his forces.
I love the way the narrator in this says "Fat stacks".
What was that? A road wide enough to accommodate 8 ATAT,s or 80 ATAT,s.
My soul einced each time he said scimitar lol. Otherwise a phenomenal video and definitely giving the channel a subscription
I like to think it’s like Seth McFarland did in robot chicken
fish
His net worth was basically the star wars galaxy
Rule of 2 really made it all possible
I imagined he spent it all on walking sticks and designer robes 😂
How are you the emperor of the universe and still be broke. Get your bread up palps
Palpatine is emperor of 1 galaxy, not the whole universe. If there is a universal emperor, then it's Horde Prime.
Out of curiosity does the different media explain what happened to the other lesser temples prior to and after order 66?
Laying in ruin waiting for new Jedi to discover. 😃
@@hackman669 thought so but wasn’t sure because I knew that in other eras the other temples were in use at the same time as the Coruscant but by the time of the clone wars we really only hear about the Coruscant temple so I wasn’t sure if some of them had been hold outs any time during the purge. Thanks 😊
Those Death Stars ain’t cheap.
It may have been done, but could you do a video explaining how Padmé went from queen to just a senator of naboo.
1:33 wasn't that art created for the Templin Institute?
Ohh I visited his house on Naboo! In Star Wars Galaxies in 2005. heh :D STARSIDER SERVER FORVER! ^^
Honestly, I imagine being Emperor of a Galaxy such as this a very boring life.
Man, he had some serious cash
Palpatine probably had an old WIndows 98 XP PC and he played old games like Unreal Tournament, Half Life and Quake 3 Arena.
Imagine getting your home blown up and then getting used as a AA battery 💀💀
