Star Wars Battlefront 2 was my favorite game ever as a kid, I would play it for hours and hours! Still one of my favorite games of all time! Great video! I did not know the Xbox version was the best one, that’s the one I’ve been playing for years!
I never played Battlefront 2 but my buddy loved this game. He would play it on his PSP during our breaks in high school...almost 2 decades ago. I'm old.
Been waiting for this video since for weeks!!! Great video! I had a Gamecube back then, and used to go to a friends house to play just Battlefront 2 in his PS2. As soon as I got my first personnal computer this was the first game I installed. Good memories.
I did have Battlefront II for the PS2 as one of the first games we had for the system, but I never played it because I was too young at the time and didn't appreciate Star Wars yet like I do now. I also had the newer Battlefront II for the PS4, but from watching this video, the original looks like it was a lot more fun and unique. It kind of makes me wish that we had gotten a Battlefront III as a sequel to the original II. I mean, with all the Star Wars content that came out in the past DECADE, we could have had stuff from the sequel trilogy, Rogue One, the Clone Wars and Rebels TV series, The Mandalorian, etc. Also, you should do videos on the handheld spinoffs Renegade Squadron and Elite Squadron, as well as the X-Men Legends (the first of which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year) and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games!
I actually grew up playing a demo of battlefront 2 from an xbox demo disc. All you could do was take part on a dog fight above coruscant or fight as a clone on utapau, both of which were timed. You could play as obi wan on utapau once you took over two command posts, but his play time was limited as his lightsaber meter would gradually decrease, and once it ran out you were back to playing as a clone.
Ah yes. My favorite SW game of all time... The amount of content for both MP and SP is great and the PC version definitely has one of the greatest modding communities. It would be great if you covered some mods in the future.
The best thing about playing the PC version are the graphic update mods. Galactic Civil War hits different with different Rebel alien species and shiny reflective death star floors.
I wish I could try Galactic Conquest against someone. Have some actual strategy and play with someone instead of just easily destroying the AI by myself😂
I had this game on both PS2 and PSP when I was a senior in high school, and it's seriously one of the best Star Wars games ever made. I have many fond memories of playing this until 2am when I had to be up by 6.
I used to spend hours just launching myself off the kamino platforms with thermal detonators. My brother and I would see who could launch ourselves the farthest. Lots of fun to be had doing dumb things in this game.
The 2005 Battlefront is my favourite installment in the series. The story mode, the gameplay mechanics, the amazing maps, and the space battle mode made this an instant hit. No other Battlefront could replicate the atmosphere. However, the contractors modders are amazing and managed to replicate the OG Battlefront feeling in VR. Anyway, great video haha.
Still my personal favorite Star Wars game and just video game in general of all time. I still play it at least 2-3 times a week when I just wanna relax and have some casual game time to unwind and when my brother comes to visit, this is our go to game to relive memories of when we were kids. Still holds up well to this day.
I LOVED this game. Was the first game I ever played online, used to play this all the time whenever I had free time away from school. Got so good at it, was part of one of the top pc clans, clan wars on this game were so much fun. I don't care about being the best at games, but I'm glad I was good at this because it gave me so many memories, the competitive community in this game was awesome.
I remember getting this game when I was a kid. I was at Taekwondo practice at the age of around 12 I think, and I had bought Battlefront 2 for PS2 with my birthday money before practice, which made me think of just the game, as I knew my dad was holding onto it while he was watching me and my sisters practice. I also farted when we had to do stretching and sit with our legs in a crossed-like position.. I pointed at my sister and blamed it on her, but she was on the other side of the studio.. so that didn't go too well. I couldn't get my head straight since I was so psyched to play it.. :P That felt like my longest training session ever which just lasted an hour .. Good times.. I miss that feeling of going into a Gamestop / EB Games or going to the preview booths etc.. Almost 30 and none of this exists..
As we're on the topic of the good old battlefront 2 (which is very close to my heart) I will tell a little story about how I've got my hands on my copy of it too and why it's so close to me. It's actually pretty funny because my first contact with the battlefront 2 (or anything star wars related) was almost 20y ago when my cousin came to visit us (he lives abroad so we saw each other 2 times a year at best) and he brought his PSP with few games (including the battlefront 2 version on it) I've played in all of them but the one that got me really into it was the star wars battlefront 2 one, it in fact got me so much into it that I took all my savings and went with my parents to a shop so they could buy me an PSP just so I could play it myself too. Now after 20y I still come back to that PSP version of the game that suck me in this universe so much that I'm a big star wars fan till this day. I'm still amazed how they were able to make it run and look so good (back in the day) on such small device. I've got later the pc version too and even tho I really liked it (especially when you put some mods in it) the PSP version kept (and still keeps) a warm spot in my heart for all the nights I've wasted on playing in the conquest mode just to conquer the galaxy before going to sleep or to make the one man stand when I was the last one alive and the enemy still had 50 reinforcements left.
In the PSP version, Aayla Secura's green lightsaber is replaced with a pink/purple one, and I always thought that was the coolest thing ever. She was my go-to character in Hero Assault for the unique lightsaber alone!
I've been waiting for this video man this exciting im waiting to watch this on the big screen later im sure its awesome you Make good stuff man. Battlefront 2 is just the tops. It doesn't get much better.
if you're checking out mods for BF2 then I do recommend the Saga Edition mod on ModDB. it does a lot like instant action AI hero's, more planets in galactic conquest and you can also make the AI much harder in the game, it also adds several maps from Star Wars battlefront 1. and also, some units can change depending on which map is pick and more hero's to play in both eras like starkiller. certain worlds are also randomized in Galactic conquest so that means that if you where to attack Naboo and then the AI attacks it later, the map might be either theed night or Naboo plains. and the best part about the mod is that its in its own folder separate from the main game, meaning it does not do anything to the vanilla game at all. the mod also uses much better models as well and different variants of clones depending what map is picked.
I had the PSP version back in the day, and playing the PC version on the Steam Deck now brings back nostalgic feelings but with a sort of "new coat of paint" feel because of how much better it is.
I easily spent the most time playing this game as a teen. Hundreds of hours but surprisingly, I can’t play this game anymore without getting bored. Even with all the amazing mods on pc and some cool ones on the PSP that was recently made. I just can’t play this game for more then 5 minutes
I played the hell out of this game as a kid on my family's old Desktop running Windows XP. I still have the DVD for the game, but now I play the Steam Version
Yes, I still quote, "now hear this". I grew up with the ps2 verison, but my friend had the xbox verison. Star wars bf3 was retooled into one of the psp games, so the storys are the same. That being said, the game was like 90% done, so there is a modding team making battlefront 3 as a mod on bf2 on pc.
Somehow I preferred BF I over II. It looked more pleasing to look at. Like there was a filter that made everything look smoother. II had more edges graphically and less vibrant colors. Also I couldn't care less about heroes. I liked to play the common soldier and got quickly annoyed in II when either the AI or another player attacked me with a hero/villian.
The AI will only attack you with a hero or villain in Hero Assault in the vanilla version. And the graphics of the second game is much better especially if you set it right.
Excellent vid- covers almost everything. The only things you missed were the XL mode on PC, and the PS2 version having a much reduced draw distance compared to the others
And that psp and xbox version had ai heroes and villains and something like advanced ai. Ps2 and pc bots feels to be so stubid after playing psp or xbox version😅
I am only a console player but Battlefront 2 is the one game I play on PC. It's old enough that my laptop can run it, but there's SO many mods it basically makes a whole new game!
used to have it on PS2 back in the day. i remember my first time doing the Kashyyyk stage, i picked a sniper, positioned on one of the dock balconies, and singlehandedly took out nearly every threat that wasn't a vehicle. end results showed my score versus the cpu allies, and i was the leader by a mile
This was a fun game for me growing up. I Had the ps2 version. My sister and I loved playing the Hero Assault on Mos Eisley. She mainly played as Luke and Ayla Secula and I played as the rest of the Heroes. We mainly played on the Heroes side. I also loved playing the space assault mode but I mainly played that mode alone. Rise of the empire was also a pretty good campaign.
I remember playing galactic conquest with my friend on his PS2. Years later I got the game on PC and have pretty much only played that mode. Still amazing even in 2024.
The PSP version had a control option that let you use the stick for aim and face buttons for movement. That tiny control nub still wasn't ideal, and it meant aiming with my left hand, but still felt better then the default.
I remember I forced my father to buy it back in 2005 and it had a crazy price in my country He said if I don't play the game every single day he would beat me up with the belt... Here I am 19 years later, at the age of 26, still playing everyday on both PC and PS2, and I truly wonder how many hours I've accumulated. And no guys, I've never got bored playing it everyday and still I'm not
Despite the Star Wars games not being my nostalgia act (except maybe Jedi Power Battle), I do like your vids and how you blend serious reviews/comparisons, then a good joke that cracks me
This game is one of the best games I’ve had the pleasure of playing on the PS2 and later on the PC. SO many memories of this game. Of course I still play the PS2 and PC versions.
Battlefront 2 on the ps2 was one of the most fun games I've ever had as a kid. Especially when I got to play with my sister for hours and hours just messing around.
Growing up, my parents would restrict our gameplay to two hours on weekends, summer, and holidays when school wasn't happening. My sister and I used this game and other games that had a co-op mode as a way around this rule. We'd play a total of four hours any chance we had. We absolutely breezed through the main campaign and during Galactic Conquest, we'd have foolproof strategies. For land battles, I always went after command posts while she would either snipe enemies from above or take out turrets or other types of big machinery. For space battles, I would dismantle the enemy ship from the inside while she destroyed parts on the outside. We always had so much fun. Every now and again, I'll pop in our PS2 copy and do some Instant Action for old times sake.
Just started playing Battlefront II on the PC some time ago and man was it good. It's pretty good for a game that came out in 2005, even more so than the 2017 one. And if you're wondering about the mods, there's a lot of them. Here's some I would recommend: > Anakin's Patch (Recommended) - Also known as Battlefront Remastered. It's a patch that allows you to play all of the mods in the game. Also adds a neat Anakin's Console feature you can access in the pause menu during gameplay. It's more or less a cheat console for the PC. > XBox Content DLC for PC - Adds in every DLC map and hero from the Xbox port of the game. > Star Wars Battlefront III Legacy - A large-scale conversion mod that pretty much turns the game into the cancelled Battlefront III game. This adds in many of the mechanics planned for the game and even includes assets recovered from the files of the cancelled game. > Battlefront 1035 - A mod inspired by the 2017 Battlefront II game. Adds in many units exclusive to the game, including Clone Commandos with their repulson blast ability. > Swag Swag Senate (Modder) - Not really a mod, but one of the best mod creators on the website. Makes a lot of cool mods for the game, from the Stick War mod to a Worms 4 Mayhem inspired mod.

When I finish galactic conquest, I begin another
I kept my ps2 and boot it up on there
Star Wars Battlefront 2 was my favorite game ever as a kid, I would play it for hours and hours!
Dude, I can't believe this 15:45
I've been quoting that line constantly for years and never heard anyone else mention it!
Bro predicted the future
We’ll have to add another to the list as of today!
Well your going to have to make a updated version of this video
I believe the lightsaber meter decreasing was also a feature of the full versions. It would go back up from killing enemies.
their lightsaber meter depletes over time in the full version too.
I played that demo. I also played the BF1 demo, it was on Endor.
@@growlanser5600 I got to play that too. I think it was on a dvd for some sort of special edition.
It's really annoying that the PC version doesn't have split screen or Galactic Conquest multiplayer, that would be so cool
Split screen is overrated, but heavily agree on the latter.
@@michaelandreipalon359Me when I don't have irl friends
I wish I could try Galactic Conquest against someone. Have some actual strategy and play with someone instead of just easily destroying the AI by myself😂
I the feel annoyannce after reading the comments that the pc port doesn't have multiplayer in certain modes. :(
@@mr.commenter395 You can play everything in multiplayer except for Galactic Conquest. You can even play campaign online.
My brother and I would launch each other across the Death Star platforms using Force push
@@bodacioust2121 Oh wow, I can't believe we never thought of that!
In BF1 we'd launch Luke and Vader off Bespin Platforms with grenades and such.
How did you know they were gonna bring these back
The 2005 Battlefront is my favourite installment in the series.
Loved that Game so much. Played it all day long online on the PS2 and it was so fun
2024 the return of the classics, looks like you'll need to do a new vid
Grew up with the PSP version as a kid, I loved playing Galactic conquest a lot as the empire.
That Video hast aged brilliantly, Release vor all plattforms
I've got later the pc version too and even tho I really liked it (especially when you put some mods in it) the PSP version kept (and still keeps) a warm spot in my heart for all the nights I've wasted on playing in the conquest mode just to conquer the galaxy before going to sleep or to make the one man stand when I was the last one alive and the enemy still had 50 reinforcements left.
my all time favourite game. I had it on PS2, PSP and PC
In the PSP version, Aayla Secura's green lightsaber is replaced with a pink/purple one, and I always thought that was the coolest thing ever. She was my go-to character in Hero Assault for the unique lightsaber alone!
your videos always intrigue me, and I'm always happy to see an upload from you😃
I've been waiting for this video man this exciting im waiting to watch this on the big screen later im sure its awesome you Make good stuff man.
Haven’t heard of this. Def gonna give it a shot
I had the PSP version back in the day, and playing the PC version on the Steam Deck now brings back nostalgic feelings but with a sort of "new coat of paint" feel because of how much better it is.
Except for mapping the bloody Steam Deck PC controls to be as smooth in Space Combat as the PSP ones are with less buttons.
But def agree with you!
Never thought I’d be saying that you need to update this next month.
The release of this video is just a little too convenient considering the announce the remaster
this vid was made in janurary
Yes, I still quote, "now hear this". I grew up with the ps2 verison, but my friend had the xbox verison. Star wars bf3 was retooled into one of the psp games, so the storys are the same. That being said, the game was like 90% done, so there is a modding team making battlefront 3 as a mod on bf2 on pc.
I had the PS2 version growing up and it was so damn fun! 13 year-old me vs my friends was always the hightlight of my weekends
I needed this video today brother thank you very much
Awesome video! 😊
Just, please, when you cover the other PSP games, remember to cover the DS version of Elite Squadron as well
Somehow I preferred BF I over II.
Another great video mr Flandrew been watching a lot recently
We are watching the Wrist Rockets with the comeback of the Classic Collection with this one
PS2 version was the one I grew up with, Iplayed it constantly, I absolutely loved that game.
I love this game so much. Really enjoyed the vid. Would love a video on the mods ❤
It was always so joyful upgrading battlefront 2 with new mods.
Looking forward to this one
I remember playing galactic conquest with my friend on his PS2. Years later I got the game on PC and have pretty much only played that mode.
Still amazing even in 2024.
The PSP version had a control option that let you use the stick for aim and face buttons for movement. That tiny control nub still wasn't ideal, and it meant aiming with my left hand, but still felt better then the default.
I would take my psp everywhere and always play this felt nostalgic watching this vid
7:49 "Alright boys let's go! (gets blown up) Oh well, just like in the movie I guess."😂😂😂
I regret to inform you that you are going to have to remake this video in a few weeks.
This timing? Bro needs to buy a lotto ticket with that luck
only 3 weeks off
@@mycelia_ow Still, not bad.
“Watch those wrist rockets”, will live rent free in my head for the rest of my life.
Came here after Battlefront remastered got announced. Can’t wait for my replay me favourite Childhood game.
Man, should've waited a few weeks lol
This game was amazing back in the day with those illusive creatures known as "friends".
12:03 I have to say the menu on the console versions is visually superior IMO.
I remember spending so many hours playing this around my friends house. Had so much fun.
I remember I forced my father to buy it back in 2005 and it had a crazy price in my country
He said if I don't play the game every single day he would beat me up with the belt... Here I am 19 years later, at the age of 26, still playing everyday on both PC and PS2, and I truly wonder how many hours I've accumulated. And no guys, I've never got bored playing it everyday and still I'm not
I had the PSP version. And STILL have the Xbox and PC versions
The GOAT I still love playing this game. It needs to be remastered
.
Here's some I would recommend:
> Anakin's Patch (Recommended) - Also known as Battlefront Remastered.
