In the original trilogy version on the DS, there was a glitch you could do in the Luke bespin level, where if you head out the window onto the slide before Vader force pushes you out, you can climb back up the slide with well timed jumps, and the other Vader follows you up the slide! Then there are two Vaders on screen fighting you at the same time (pre and post slide). Ngl that one was pretty entertaining to discover back in the day
That game was such a broken piece of junk. Despite that, it was honestly more fun than the objectively more polished Complete Saga for me, at least the DS version.
7:58 This reminds me of that one scene in DBZ Cell saga, where Krillin begins to wonder how sptially aware napping Goku is, so he throws a rock and it just... actually hurts Goku.
That's actually a callback to the same bit being pulled on Roshi by Krillin in Dragonball (with the same result). I guess he still thinks that his powerful friends are always ready to fend off sudden attacks, for some reason.
Thanks for actually mentioning the A New Hope bonus level from the first LEGO Star Wars game this time! When you cover every version of Return of the Jedi next week, don't forget to include the prologue level of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which basically covers the Battle of Hoth and Luke and Vader's final battle against the Emperor. Also, I kind of agree with you when you said that the first story level of Empire in The Skywalker Saga was a pretty odd choice (as well as a missed opportunity for a boss fight against the Wampa).
The first bit of Empire in the Skywalker Saga game when you’re connecting the towers, though it was a weird choice of objective, was the first time during the story that I actually felt like I was PLAYING a game. It was pretty lengthy and the puzzles and traversing were fun. The droid factory was the only part of all 3 prequels that came close. Extremely disappointing. Felt like I was playing a walking simulator
Something that really bugs me about skywalker saga, is how good LEGO Force Awakens is. Yeah it has some flaws due to only covering one movie, but the vehicle missions where super fun to me... Also you actually get to control Poes X-Wing when he shoots out the Oscillator... I was expecting Skywalker Saga to just be like that... but better...
You did actually mention the bonus A New Hope level! It kinda feels as if I made a small but meaningful change in the world. That simply means that you care about our comments! You're the best!!!
I think the best part of the Skywalker Saga is the vehicle sections. They control really well, especially compared to TCS. In TCS, whenever there was a vehicle level, I was like "let's just get this over with" but in SS, I always thought "a vehicle level? Hell yeah!"
Empire Strikes Back is my favorite episode in the game. I remember getting my Dad to help me in the Dagobah level. By the time I got to Bespin, I realized that you unlock any characters you defeat in the store, and was so hyped to finally unlock Vader. I was very disappointed when he did not show up in the store afterward.
Flandrew! Big fan of your content! I would really like to see gameplay comparison for The Force Unleashed II since the first one you made so entertaining, much love brotha 🤝
I have fond memories of playing ESB on the original game and complete saga, thanks for continuing this series flandrew! And yeah I wish Luke could’ve used the force on dagobah would’ve made that level go much faster
On the DS version if you spam the free play character select while the "I am your father" cutscene is playing, you will spawn into the cutscene. I always liked to pretend I was there to save Luke from Vader when he needed it most.
I really don't like the skywalker saga version. They could have included something cool instead od this weird first level. Also, the Bespin escape Level is so easy you can beat it without killing any enemies. But I like that the open world finally has something special. But you can't replay these open world "levels" (e.g. Han and Leia in Echo base escaping) unless you start a completely new game. The replayability is so much worse because of this. Like in Episode 1 there is this submarine level where you have to shoot the fish. You can finish this level using a single button. Very disappointing and very weird choise of Levels sometimes.
@@hermos3602 I 100%ed it and it wasn't fun at all. Playing through the story the first time was very fun, I'll say that, but once the main story is finished, the game feels like golden shell with nothing inside. The side missions are very repetitive and boring. Once you played like 3 different side missions, you know all of them are just like that, but with different characters. Luckily for the main story I didn't have any game breaking bugs, but on the episode 8 level in the prison, for some reason I needed to play with a controller to solve a puzzle to get a minikit because for some reason the keyboard input was bugged for this section only. Also it's disappointing that there is no character customisation (even after the game was released for a long time now, at least as I know), and the lack of fun extra levels. The DS version of Lego Star Wars 2 was an absolutely rushed, glitch and bug-filled, bare bones masterpiece. Every turn you took had lag spikes, broken AI, a way to softlock or crash the game, or just general messiness. And it was and still is my favourite game because of that.
Can't seem to find another way to reach out to you other than here, so here's another humble suggestion of mine. For the next video, which will complete the Complete Saga, you could mention the collectibles in the original (minikits, the Superkit, red bricks, etc.), and how they changed in the Skywalker Saga (fewer minikit parts per level, Kyber crystals instead of the Superkit). Also the number of characters to unlock and bonus features of both games. Hope it's not too much! 😊

Still a shame that the boss descriptions in Skywalker Saga are in the Star Wars alphabet (Aurebesh), which most people can't translate that fast by just reading it. There's actually some mildly funny jokes in those descriptions that the devs, apparently, thought didn't need subtitles or something since all Star Wars fans are totally able to just read this made up language that casual viewers might not even realize are letters, much less spelling out anything. Some examples are Maul having "Red dude with a bad attitude", the Rancor having "Jabba's pet monster, Pateesa", or Luke just having "Did you do it?" to lampshade the corny dialogue involved with the fight. Imagine if Zelda just had the boss's title in Hylian for no reason. It would kind of take away from the moment.
