I always spent half a space battle repairing the shields, since that's the only thing on your ship that's repairable, and I thought that actually helped

Not only does ot let you mox factions, it also adds a few new units to the game, remixes the classes, adds a ton of new heroes, and even adds in the superior Battlefront 1 maps, as well as some of the cancelled Battlefront 3 maps I believe.

Eventually, General Grievous got sick and tired of negotiating, and decided to send Droids to Kashyyyk to intimidate them into joining. These Droids proceeded to kill the Wookiee King's son and Crown Prince when they spotted him on a hunt. The King, understandably a bit peeved by this, proceeded to throw in with the Republic. Basically, what you were saying is actually 100% correct; General Grievous got impatient and caused another front of the war to open up.
how do the trandoshan slavers from republic commando factor into this? were they already trafficking wookies before the war or were they used by the seperatists as a deniable proxy force?
@@hankmarlboro7309 IIRC the Trandoshans and Wookies have a long standing rivalry (bit of an understatement to be honest). If the lore hasn't changed, both species live in the same solar system but on different planets. Both species absolutely hate the other. So the Trandoshans could've been paid, or they were doing there normal thing of capturing Wookies to sell them as slaves.
I used to camp on top of the ring structure surrounding the skiff as Han and Jango. It turned out that hokey religions and ancient weapons were no match for a good blaster by my side. The detpacks and wrist rockets helped too.
For me it'll be the moments where my tickets are down to 1 point, all my allies are dead, and somehow I survive long enough to capture command posts to distract the enemy, and whittle down enemy units til there's only one or two left, capturing every command post I can get to while rushing over to the nearest point being captured by the enemy til I clutch with a final kill.

So protip from someone who plays this game too much: pressing the F keys (F1,f2, etc) gives orders to AI allies. Things like follow me or stay here. You need a few kills for this to work but it massively increases the odds of you winning in conquest modes.

The Legends version of the theft of the Death Star plans (Operation Skyhook) is several different thefts eventually having their parts of the plans be combined together. I think Empire at War attempted to justify this by having Papa Palpatine say that he split the plans on purpose so one theft wouldn’t compromise the whole thing.
It’s a complete mess in legends to be frank, everyone and anyone seemed to steal the plans, Kyle Katarn, some chick who was an early love interest of Han I can’t remember her name, this, I mostly prefer legends to new canon but the Death Star plans are one thing where legends is far worse than canon
@@roan9914 Disagree. I found the stories of Kyle Katarn, et al much more engaging than Rogue One - which just never connected with me. Maybe it's something to do with actually 'living out' the story by playing it vs just having it 'told to you' onscreen. Plus, I can't remember anyone from Rogue One other than Darth Vader, which is a big problem.

Disney just werent brave enough to give us a Legends-accurate stealing of the Death Star plan, by having Kyle Katarn run around an imperial base for 20 minutes punching hundreds of stormtroopers to death and not caring how many times he gets shot. My favourite part of the movie would be when he gets lost and runs in circles for a while.
In the Naboo section I had no help from my allies too, they all died halfway thru the mission and I had to finish the rest of it alone like 4 hours later.
re: Droids looking like bipedal cockroaches, they're designed after the Geonocians. Like their body and facial structure is supposed to evoke Geonocians just like how humans design robots to look like humans.
My brother's and I meet up once or twice a year just to play this game. If anyone of us die/friendly fire, we would restart the entire playthrough. Beautiful masterpiece.
You know, the award shotgun just absolutely shreds the jedi. The engineer class in general is really powerful on Knightfall. The shotgun can usually one-shot jedi if they aren't guarding, they will just run straight over det packs for an easy kill if you bait them, and the repair tool makes the library pretty simply if you just camp one or two bookshelves. My usual strat is to start with a standard trooper until we capture the council chamber, then switch to engineer for the rest of the mission, using anakin when he's available.

the problem is the a.i. always targets you when your in range even if they are surrounded if you aim at them they know and will move its pretty ridiculous because no real human would ever act that way or know that information
Fun fact: Aallya Secura has always had just 1 light saber, she's holding just 1 on the box art, but she was only given 2 because the Devs wanted a light side dual bladed character to counter for grevious
A tip on the Library section in Knightfall: As engineer you can repair the bookshelves, and also the shotgun is REALLY effective against jedi, so I usually hug a bookcase with the shotgun and repair when I need to

Kashyyyk's natural resources (including the wookies) were massive and its location in the galaxy makes it a great strategic foothold if you were attacking the core. That's why people kept trying to conquer it and failing in every era lol.

I've also done this challenge in my own way. Order 66 in the Jedi temple was by far the hardest level, I ended up going shotgun sniper to finally beat it. Felucia was also a nightmare due to things being practically invisible. Death Star was also a pain.
You know, my strategy for defending the AT-TE on felucia was always to just switch to engineer and shove my fusion cutter into it's tailpipe until time runs out. Occasionally I'd fend off any droids that got too close, but just letting the tank, well, tank seemed a good enough strat
Frog you should try the story missions for Battlefront 1 2004, the Clone wars ones especially are incredibly punishing. I couldn't imagine a no death run, even beating some missions took over 40 attempts (Geonosis). The droids' top 4 or 5 units are always droidekas and they have like 25 kills each
The one great thing about battlefront 1 and 2 campaigns is you are practically the game changer of the battlefield and there are only a few times something can really one shot you either snipers a rocket or grenade. Others would probably be Torrance the jungle mission with the beast and a character leader.
I always played the engineer. He can heal himself with his health packs so you can camp near the Gonk droids and become unkillable, not to mention the shotgun is a one shot.
Dude the Kamino level is deceptively tough. It’s worse now because the troopers can phase through the floor in the DNA room so occasionally you’ll be walking around getting blasted with an auto cannon being shot from BELOW the floor.
The command post abbreviation does hit different now 😂 this is still probably in my top 5 games of all time, the graphics are some of the best for the og xbox/ps2 era and the gameplay is endlessly fun
Makes me wanna see you do a 'No Death' run, where you restart the entire campaign when you die. Just for added fun, you should do a new save file for every death, so to make sure those weapon upgrades don't lend any assistance.
I loved doing this, I also do it for galactic conquest. 1 death and complete restart, only won it once in like the 3 years since I started playing like that, super stressful. 11/10 would recommend
Yep, just have to be mindful of the side entrances, because I've had enemy infantry come and start shooting me every so often when I'm focused on keeping it repaired
I use to do this all the time when I was a kid, I would play full scale max unit battles and never die, I had all the patterns down pat. It's easier then you think.

Frog you should try the story missions for Battlefront 1 2004, the Clone wars ones especially are incredibly punishing. I couldn't imagine a no death run, even beating some missions took over 40 attempts (Geonosis). The droids' top 4 or 5 units are always droidekas and they have like 25 kills each

The one great thing about battlefront 1 and 2 campaigns is you are practically the game changer of the battlefield and there are only a few times something can really one shot you either snipers a rocket or grenade.
Others would probably be Torrance the jungle mission with the beast and a character leader.
Enjoyed this tremendously, I might have to go through the campaign again for old time's sake.

I always played the engineer. He can heal himself with his health packs so you can camp near the Gonk droids and become unkillable, not to mention the shotgun is a one shot.
Dude the Kamino level is deceptively tough. It’s worse now because the troopers can phase through the floor in the DNA room so occasionally you’ll be walking around getting blasted with an auto cannon being shot from BELOW the floor.

I have a BFII profile lying around with all medals on legendary, and zero deaths on the "career" tab. I guess I had a good childhood.
The command post abbreviation does hit different now 😂 this is still probably in my top 5 games of all time, the graphics are some of the best for the og xbox/ps2 era and the gameplay is endlessly fun

Makes me wanna see you do a 'No Death' run, where you restart the entire campaign when you die. Just for added fun, you should do a new save file for every death, so to make sure those weapon upgrades don't lend any assistance.
I loved doing this, I also do it for galactic conquest. 1 death and complete restart, only won it once in like the 3 years since I started playing like that, super stressful. 11/10 would recommend
You can repair the gate on Kashyk and the Jedi holocrons in the temple. Makes those two missions ridiculously easy especially the gate.
battlefront 2 was the first video game I bought myself on Amazon with my own money. I was not disappointed
Fun fact about the gate winch, if you play an engineer, you can repair it and get the gate to go back up.
Yep, just have to be mindful of the side entrances, because I've had enemy infantry come and start shooting me every so often when I'm focused on keeping it repaired
I use to do this all the time when I was a kid, I would play full scale max unit battles and never die, I had all the patterns down pat. It's easier then you think.
