To a certain extent, sure, but the fact that they're behind on process technology and still using monolithic dies means they might have to sell at a loss to get to the same performance:price ratio in the mid end, and that's not a good long term strategy. It's not advancing as fast as it should be due to intel and nvidia grasp on market share. Though the 5700XT competes with the 2070super well for less money, the driver support is so terrible on AMD it puts most people off. Jay please DON'T do 3800MHz(or more precisely mega transfers) on memory and 1800 FCLK as you mentioned in video, you're losing performance that way
    keep FCLK=UCLK=MCLK, that gives best performance as I'm sure you know
    if you wanna run 3800 on memory try pushing FCLK to 1900(which might be problem), or drop memory frequency to match it

    • @agentcrm
      @agentcrm 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @BrunodeSouzaLino
      @BrunodeSouzaLino 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@agentcrm If you want stability, you should be using ECC memory, not overclocking your RAM.

    • @Gigator
      @Gigator 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@agentcrm But most likely the 1:1 ratio of FCLK and UCLK at 1600 MHz each would still be faster and more stable than the Frankenstein 1800:1900 he does now. Buildzoid did a bunch of quick tests with AIDA and found that asynchronous rates are only beneficial if the delta between them is large. So if you run 3000 MHz DDR4, you get more performance from 1800 or 1900 MHz FCLK. But if you get nearer that FCLK, running them synchronous but at a lower overall FCLK is more beneficial.

I just wished that the aesthetics of these tubes could be improved. As saying if there were a way to have them trained to be a little more straighter and more defined then just drooping in the air. Perhaps some kind of a custom bracket system. Which now I'll be racking my brain to come up with. But I understand that it still needs to be easy to remove for maintenance. Don't worry I'll have plenty of asperen to get this headache of an idea out of my head. Love this build a lot. You guys are awesome. 😎👍😃💖🥂

    So your RAM is at 3800mhz but the infinity fabric is at 1800, rather than 1900? You aren't running 1:1 then and are adding latency. Going off synchronous with that amount of clock increase won't get you a performance increase, Corsair's OC guide mentions timings help more.

      @sirmonkey1985 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      semi correct.. while it's important to run 1:1 the only real negative when not running it is latency and even then the differences aren't noticable without looking at benchmarks until you try to go over 3800mhz on memory then things go down hill quick. buildzoid did a long explanation on it between unsynced Fclock below 3800mhz then trying to go over 3800mhz.
