      I got a 6600xt when they came out cause I needed something to run my new monitor and I didn't wanna pay the same price for a used 2080.... In hindsight probably not my best decision. For games it works but it's a bit anemic. The real problem is a lot of non gaming software just isn't designed with it in mind and will either use it inefficiently or worse will try run on the CPU instead.

I did a CPU upgrade the other day, and all I did was remove my side panel, undo the block, clean, pop out the old one, stick in the new, re-paste and refit the block. Gotta learn how to maneuver them but otherwise awesome 1440p144hz experience at a much cheaper price than the 3080 in current real world market. You're also right the newer drivers make a big difference compared to early benchmarks. I've already seen multiple games where the 6800xt has closed the gap with the 3080 from those initial reviews such as in MHW where the 3080 once had a huge like 10% lead now theyre neck and neck.

      @bruh meme it really depends on the gauge of wiring used for the cable more than anything. so as long as you're not overloading the wiring it shouldn't really be an issue.. remember that the total power draw is balanced across all 3. so lets say the cards pulling 400w, between 10-30w(but can draw up to 75w) is being drawn through the pcie slot, leaving each 8 pin to draw roughly 123w so daisy chained 1 cable will be drawing roughly 243w which is well within spec as long as you're not using some garbage 50 dollar amazon special psu.

    I've been daily driving a full amd system for a little over 2 months now. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Given I don't do any editing on my rig (yet anyway may change). Gaming wise I have pretty much zero complaints and any complaints I did have were resolved with a bit of trouble shooting and maintenance in terms of driver/bios updates

    Ought to offer a JayzTwoCents koozy for the store for the cold beverages people don't use a mug to drink, BUT ask for a sample from the manufacturer sized for like, that tubing, then use it as a foam connector over that junction so you can't see the metal, and it adds your logo to the build.

    20" box fan with a 20x20 inch hepa filter on the input side. Build it into a box with 5-6" of gap to the fan ... it pumps *clean* air into the system (positive air pressure). So you *can* help at least a little.

      Same, I've used AIO water systems over the years in the past with a one failing on me, causing coolant to onto, and kill a mobo, and never really giving much better performance than a good air cooler, and even once did a one off fish tank style mineral oil build(Intel 4770K, and Nvidia 750TI in mid 2014) for a friend of my family who's a lawyer for his office as he wanted something to show off to his clients, but his now ex-wife came into the office drunk one night after going out, and cheating on him only to knock the build over, and cause havoc. So over the years I've grown a distaste for the hassles/worries of water, and other exotic forms of cooling, and stick to PC cases with good airflow with intake fan filters, and just take my systems both at home, and work outside, and blow them out/brush down with my mini shop vac as needed, as well as doing a thermal paste refresh every couple of years to extend my systems lifespans.

    Coolant of good quality doesn't really age. I'm literally running 9 year old coolant in my newest build, not "PC coolant" though, but automotive "red VW" coolant based on ethyleneglycol. It's made for way worse environments than a PC, it'll be fine for decades. And it's nice looking, too!

      I've been running G11 car coolant premix (the blue stuff) for a little over 2 years now (since Zen2 came out). No discoloration, no gel-ing, no clogging with residue.. it just works. Honestly sounds kinda awful in terms of taking care of my stuff but the only thing I've done as far as maintenance is concerned was clean the fans and blow the dust out of the radiator and whatever ended up elsewhere in the case a couple months ago. Coolant looked fine, average and max temps haven't changed beyond margin of error so i just left it 🤷‍♂
      Kinda tempted to refill an older AIO in my 2nd rig with this stuff cause it seems to have a lot of air in the loop by now

  • @teapea8184
    @teapea8184 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tbh, if anything that kinda makes me happy. Rather than waste more tubing you re-used what you had. And what comes to soft tubing, I run it myself nowdays with no dye in the system. I used to do hard tubing, but in the end this so much better as a maintanence and ease of use, that I just prefer black soft tubing and really it doesn't look that bad. In the end we go for watercooling mostly for massive heat soak and more efficient cooling.

    Hey Jay, I know you were asking for suggestions a bit ago for new vid ideas and something kicked in the back of my head. When I first started watching your channel early last year, I remember a video where you were overclocking (I think it was one of the RipGN series) and you said you wouldn't show what you were doing so people didn't fry their shit, etc. I know you've done some stuff in the past about showing how to use MSI afterburner, but what about a series of vids where you go through the mechanics of OC from CPU to GPU, show why you might change X and this is what happens, change Y and this is what happens. A lot of times you'll skip past what you are doing except to say you changed voltage control or whatever, but in these go into why you changed the voltage, etc. Just an idea, love the vid as always.

I now have a 6900XT (watercooled AIO version) and while I can't compare it to 3080Ti/3090, the performance is crazy.
