John is grip and rip type of puller so adding straps for him to use actually would make him weaker. John would need to change his deadlift style for strongman.
John Haack already outdeadlifting strongmen (who are usually doing elephant deadlifts, tire deadlifts, silver dollar deadlifts, ..., etc) with suit and straps and weighing more than him also.
How much you guys think john could deadlift in strongman style (suit & straps)? Honestly i think that he could get 1000lb with a proper planning.
Maybe if he gigabulked, but he never has gotten over 220 lbs for even a prep without a cut.

He would do 1000 pounds in one month. Suit gives you like 70 pounds, straps probablylike 20 pounds.
Thank you for posting this. First video I could find of John’s whole performance.
Its my pleasure bro, enjoy it 😊💪🏻
that 3rd deadlift grind was so sick!
yeah he has the cleanest and most impressive dl out of everyone imo..i think 1k LBS is possible after a few years + weight gain
John is just the GOAT period
John is just amazingly strong. Beautiful squats, bench, and deadlifts. No cheater low-bar squats and sumo deadlifts.
Какие там красивые?) Я тут увидел конкретные недоседы.
4,5 times bodyweight deadlift is out of this world
And this as a LIGHT 220er.
Hour long bench pauses should be banned lmao. Why did he make him wait like that?
agreed
Total bullsh@t, some of these head judges seem like they never compete before, command should be instantaneous with the pause on the chest.
You are right, quite long these pauses
yeah that was shit
Watch John's official post in other angle, its not that long pause. Judging by watching stream is not ideal.
less weight cut = insane squat
that makes me wonder what he could squat if he went 240lbs
Imagine this 850 squat, 600 bench, 950 deadlift, for an 2400 lbs total under 242 lbs
@@TheLegMan1just crazy😅, John is in whole another level, no one is close
@@TheLegMan1 Definitely way over 600lb bench...
