Austin you are missing a big piont here. The idea of this phone is not only that it is modular. The materiale used for this phone is all FairTrade, wich means most of the metals like gold, copper and kobolt are from mines where the workers have good working standards and good salary. No kids has worked 12 hours a day just so you could get a stupid smartphone. The point is that its good for the environment and all the materials can be recycled and used in like radios and tv's. You pay for a clean phone.

The Idea behind the Fairphone isn't its modularity. Its about building a phone which is build with conflict free recourses and good working conditions while caring about the environment. Thats also the reason why its modular. So you can recycle each part easily on its own and so you don't have to throw away you whole phone when one part is broken. They want you to keep it longer than a "normal" smartphone. It would be great if you clear this up at least on twitter. This video doesn't do the phone justice...

How do you ignore the biggest selling point of the phone, the reason it's called Fairphone, the fact that it's not made with conflict minerals or the workers at factories killing themselves like the iPhone assemblers. It's as much about being an ethical phone as a modular one.

Now Austin, not to be insulting, but the repeated comparison to flagship smartphones and the fact you never even emphasized on why this thing is called "FAIRphone" in the first place make me think you sort of missed the point of this.

Another HUGE issue is it supports only 3 of the countless lte bands (3,7,20). Also in 2019, there are only replacement pieces and no further models

The best thing is not the fact that it's modular but that it uses materials that has been gathered fairly, and it doesn't hurt the environment as much as other phones!!!
