I find that there hasn’t been a lot of use for EMP grenades, but now that they stun mechanical targets like the fractal Guardian, they could prove quite useful!
@@crunch.dot.73 +1250 or 2500 credits with 200 or 400 extra exp. I know you can say its not that high but for the easiest (dugong) that almost double the reward even with medium difficulty (humpback) its 50% extra reward. Its probably not worth it for the highest difficulty (typhon 2) and since all of them happen below 4 km any breach on their ship will kill everyone inside. Ofc if you have security officer with "by the book" perks and since the latest update you can pick it any time. Also I play most of the time using modified R-29 for boarding action. Pirate mission always involve force docking and followed up with close combat.
FINALLY, I died every time I tried ti use EMP and now it will FINALLY works ! Recently find out that depth charges with EMP is easiest way to capture some pirats for security talent usage.
Holy cow finally I'm actually gonna be like "YOO emp grenades are half off guys!" rather than literally not caring whatsoever. They're now practically crucial for guardians as you can do the ol' slip it through the door trick and pull a fast one on a guardian melee style.

Arguably better then having petraptors in game now. I know, how could someone even suggest anything is superior to pet mudraptors. But this, this will save you and use up grenades that used to serve very little use in campaign.
The way I see it, Rifle Grenades (Or grenade launcher) to stun them, and a shotgun or SMG to finish them off. If I get a Clear Ruin Mission again, those Guardians are toast.
Or you know just use PUCS and ranged weapons. Easiest way to clear ruin. Stem guardian doesn't do anything to you (exept for if he's in the emergency mode) and harpoon guardians are mostly harmless.

They did??? I noticed it was way faster - we did our first thalamus last night and I thought the hull was just weaker (due to being infected) or something.
Unfortunately despite this helpful video I find EMPs pointless to use against these guys because I usually am able to finish them off with an smg before I take any damage not to mention the fact that I have to time it right but why bother when I can just mag dump them Then again it could be a grenade throwing/timing skill issue lol

usually i use them to disable pirate ship since I often capture all of them alive.

Weapons skill dosent affect aoe weapons damage like grenades, it's distance
