relaying target location outside of the railgun view range to your gunner and watch the orange emp cloud appear as the nuclear shell hit the target has to be one of the most satisfying things to do in this game
Hold up, how do you tell a gunner to fire at a specific location ? I assume it's one of the emergency commands. Could also be useful even when not using nukes, I was doing multiplayer a while ago and found a blocked cave entrance, I had my friend blow it open with a coilgun.

Pulse ammos is super easy to make. Deconstruct batteries from pirates/wrecks/abandoned outposts and get the alien blood from just about ANY monster you kill.
Regular (green) and abyssal (blue) diving suits provide 100% reduction to radiation sickness taken - get your crew to whip on their suits before going nuclear and you’re fine
Wares should have a mass though, weighing down your submarine. Also they should probably change how submarines sink, they basically fall out of the water even if only 30% of them is actually flooded. Ballasts should perhaps have like a 2 or 3 or 5 or 10 or something times water capacity you don't see, making them appear to flood slower or something than regular compartments; after all real submarines are mostly just a ballast with a bit of crew compartment in the middle.
@@hunormagyar1843 good idea on the mass part but it would be expensive to run as the game would have to calculate the mass of all objects and make sure they’re on a sub
Few things got changed since this video got made Explosive coilgun ammo went from IC4 to C4. C4 is UEX and plastic, and uex is phosphorous and sodium metal Theres also new ammo made outta depleted fuel rods, think only the electrician can make those Flakgun is new too but i aint used it yet Theres also double coilguns now that go into "big" slots for your sub, since now theres big and small hardpoints, railgun beint big, obv
If we're going with what is best based on availability and cost as of recent updates, Pulse Laser is the strongest in slot for small hardpoints. Coilguns while cheap are nowhere near as devastating in terms of damage. Simply resupplying with the dead and spending some extra marks on batteries and getting your hands on as much lithium as possible is very helpful. Especially considering how vending machines can have batteries. As for the large hardpoint, the Flak cannon is my personal favorite as it is a monster in dealing with most everything I've come across so far, and its ammo isn't difficult to find or make.
Fun trick: attach an oscillator through your periscope that is turned on by the trigger and then attach that to the turret to make a machine gun. The delay between shots is on the periscope not the gun.
very nice video! here are some corrections: the penetrating capabilities reduce a % from another % of damage reduction an armor has. (it's not a chance) exploding coilgun ammo might say it only has 40 burn damage, but the way explosion works in this game makes it so it multiplies it's own damage on each limb it hits, so if you hit a mudraptor in the legs, you hit 4 limbs at once dealing 160 frickin damage, also burn damage ignores all armor leaving piercing ammo in the dirt, in my opinion turning exploding ammo into not only the best coilgun ammo but the best ammo in the game. you can deconstruct incendium grenades (which are pretty damn common for some reason) for incendium bars piercing ammo hits twice per bullet giving it 16 total damage per shot, and also making it so reaching weakspots behind armor is easier physicorium shells have the ability to 2shot every single monster in the game with a little accuracy, even abyss creatures. (decapitating endworms with higher chance than the common shell and dealing 4000 damage out of the 8000 hp the charybdis has if you hit the mouth) you can also get alien blood deconstructing blood bags you can buy fulgurium batteries in every city outpost, and deconstruct them for fulgurium bars. you can buy physicorium chaingun ammo at the military outposts every nuclear explosive actually has less damage than the physicorium shell when it comes to single targets. nuclear explosives are not as good as you'd think when it comes to killing multiple creatures, since it depends on explosive damage which in this game has a ridiculous damage falloff. But it's still very formidable when it comes to destroy other submarines or structures in general, including thalamus infected wrecks. I like railguns due to the sole fact of their nostalgia, back in the free to play legacy version, the only turret available was the railgun, the shells operate the same but moreso used to resemble torpedoes more than ones now which are more slim and missile like
I use the nuclear depth charge all the time for killing wrecks that I have to salvage, or pirate ships that I've sunk but not killed yet. on the Typhon 1 the depth charge is linked to the nav console, so I can back away, line up my bomb, and drop it from a safe distance. It almost always kills the thalamus hiding inside wrecks, and certainly finishes off pirate crews. On rare occasions I like the nuclear distraction charge for bigger targets like the Charybdis, as it lures the big monsters away until they ram it and explode.
Yea laser is pretty cool and I'd say it's actually worth the money in contrast to the chaingun... Chaingun bullets do litte to no damage, plus the ammo box capacity isn't even much higher either, it depletes very quickly.
There's already at least one new ammo type (Shredder ammo) and when the next update hits this guide will need a major overhaul, because the Flak turret is coming.

It's a wonder they haven't added them this whole time. Even mods fail to produce actual torpedoes. It should be simple enough. Who's ever seen a submarine shooting railguns and lasers underwater anyways?

lithium=recycle batteries , alien blood= recycled blood packs , both are sold by most/all stations , battery costs about 109 , bloodpack 224 , it might seam pricy but you will be left with saline , stabilizone and zinc , saline and stabilizone can be pass to medical , or you can sell all 3 for 83marks , its not cheapest ammo but railgun if it misses (especialy if it has filler) can be costly , meanwhile pulse laser can relialably kill moloch or other big things with ammo to spare , not to say moloch will need 4-5 railgun shells , maybe even a filler
Yea i saw that on the wiki, and i did want to include it in the video, but i thought i would keep it vanilla for now ;) Thinking of making a upgraded sub video as there's been a few comments on tips and suggestions that sound super cool, will be sure to include this one.
Since I'm 11 months late to this video I'm sure plenty of people have already shared the correct pronunciation, and regardless it was a great video, very informative. My 2 cents tho, in physic-orium the physic part of the word comes from physical or physics.
Alien blood is can also be achieved through deconstruction of blood package (looted from pirate ships and derelicts), and also from red paint (yeeeeeeeeeah) which costs about 54 mark in store. Glory to the laser!
You can only do it at stations, There has been a major update since this was released as well, so some of the info is out of date. You need to head to the upgrade mercahnt at a station, green icon with upwards cheverons. look for the weapons tab. There are two types of hardpoints, large and regular. Large ones can change to double coilgun, flak and railgun. The regualr ones are coilgun, chaingun and laser. Hope it helps.
Chainguns should be buffed I think. Their hit damage is disappointing for the amount of bullets you have available. And you can't even singletap enemies to conserve ammo like with a coilgun, atop of that it's extremely inaccurate. Funny thing is you can in fact use chaingun ammo in coilguns, making them equally inaccurate and low damage. Not sure if it works the other way around...
@@IronicandDead Both chain- and coilguns use the same electromagnetic launch technology, according to game lore. Though I do wonder about muzzle flashes then... But I mean the game genre is basically science-fiction, it can be forgiven even if it's wrong. Even the weird Earth-like gravity is explained by lore as an anomaly the first scientists were studying on the moon, and it would make for a pretty weird game if everything and everyone floated half the time they tried to run or something. Though it could be presentable in 3d as people would probably "sprint" helping with their hands on the side walls, so to cancel out unwanted vertical motion. Plus jumping would be much more effective. Wonder how low-gravity high-pressure water works though, swimming could be pretty interesting. But Earth gravity is a good game design choice anyway.
from what it seems, chainguns seem to be a good way of tearing up hull, or hitting weak points. It seems more like a "right tool for the job" kind of thing than the versatile coilgun.
First time I witnessed a nuclear attack was when my AI crew mates randomly loaded one nuke shell into the railgun, and thought it would be a good idea to shoot a spineling with it at less than 3 meter range.
Im having issue where chain guns rotation speed is abysmally slow, making it almost impossible to track targets. My character has 100 weapons skill, so im not sure why this happens.
@@IronicandDead We have 2 upgrades, but i wasnt sure if this affect myself, as I have maxed Weapons skill, and the upgrade stipulates only those with inadequite skill levels. I do have a gunners hat.
@IronicandDead Nvm, I checked and it's just Phsyicorium ammo. When I found it I was unaware of that type of ammo and it sounded and looked alien to me, especially with that hexagon texture.
Super helpful, thank you. However I missed electrical discharge coils, did you mention it? I have installed the electrical canon, but I don't know where or how to load ammo in it... Thank you
Your welcome. The discharge coils are are usually located on the top or bottom of a ship and normally activated by a button that should be near either the weapons deck or the navigation room. Which ship are you on with the laser turret? I can maybe help located where the ammo is for it.
In my campaigns I prefer to use as much HE as possible, it melts hammerheads and groups of soft targets. The only time I really switch off is for molochs that are facing hard-side to my gun.
In campaign, playing with comrades, i already used several nukes almost FOR FUN and i dont have any regrets using my nuclear arsenal against Europa's fauna
I would say the chaingun is probably one of my fav, but if you need to save on lead then laser turrets, for large turrets the double coilgun with explosive absolutely shreds.
I'm not sure where you got the name Phsyicorium from. Multiple points in the video, you hover over Physicorium items with the proper spelling. It seems a little strange that you'd record the entire guide without confirming a typo.
Friend and I got 3 turrets, made it about 25% into the game. We finished a mission set and when we started a new set 2 of the turrets disappeared. What happened? Do they wear out? Help!
Does anyone know if you can move turrets to different hardpoint spots? Saw i want to reposition my railgun to a different spot for better coverage. So far, from some basic testing, once i uninstall a gun, it dissapears, neither selling or being able to be reused.
So you can achieve this by creating a custom sub, or editing one of the per-existing ones. However this also may be possible in the next update, will need to wait and see.

lithium=recycle batteries , alien blood= recycled blood packs , both are sold by most/all stations , battery costs about 109 , bloodpack 224 , it might seam pricy but you will be left with saline , stabilizone and zinc , saline and stabilizone can be pass to medical , or you can sell all 3 for 83marks , its not cheapest ammo but railgun if it misses (especialy if it has filler) can be costly , meanwhile pulse laser can relialably kill moloch or other big things with ammo to spare , not to say moloch will need 4-5 railgun shells , maybe even a filler
iiec you can have multiple loaders for each gun, allowing you to combine ammo types to get multiple effects
Yea i saw that on the wiki, and i did want to include it in the video, but i thought i would keep it vanilla for now ;) Thinking of making a upgraded sub video as there's been a few comments on tips and suggestions that sound super cool, will be sure to include this one.
I love your vids! Can we have a video on electrical wiring because i want to figure out how to optomize everything
i love watching guides for games ill never play
Since I'm 11 months late to this video I'm sure plenty of people have already shared the correct pronunciation, and regardless it was a great video, very informative.
My 2 cents tho, in physic-orium the physic part of the word comes from physical or physics.
PHY-SI-CO-RI-UM! like physics! the stuff that also includes gravity!
haha enjoyed the video thanks for the helpful information! might I add you look like you could be Elijah Wood's brother or something lol
Well new guns are coming, a Flak gun to deal with swarms & a double-coilgun
you should make a submarine guide, i mean the submarines for attack, exploration ect
Info about accessibility out of date
wait, a nuclear weapon cost less than a grenade launcher?
This video is great.
I think you confused yourself quite a bit with the misspelling of physicorium as phsyicorium
Alien blood is can also be achieved through deconstruction of blood package (looted from pirate ships and derelicts), and also from red paint (yeeeeeeeeeah) which costs about 54 mark in store. Glory to the laser!
When I see see the end worm FIRE THE NUKES
Math is not a plural word
but how do you swap them out? i cant find any guide ANYWHERE on how to switch them with other ones on the hard points
Say Physics... Now say Physicorium.
I think phyisicorium is produced like physi as in phyiscs and corium as is core so something like fizikorium
I have not tried using other ammunition in other guns, but yea i kind of agree, the low capacity really doesn't do them any justice.
Could you make an updated guide on submarine weapons?
First time I witnessed a nuclear attack was when my AI crew mates randomly loaded one nuke shell into the railgun, and thought it would be a good idea to shoot a spineling with it at less than 3 meter range.
Im having issue where chain guns rotation speed is abysmally slow, making it almost impossible to track targets. My character has 100 weapons skill, so im not sure why this happens.
The Chaingun does have a slow turning speed, does your sub have the upgrades to turning speed? and also are you wearing a gunners hat?
@@IronicandDead We have 2 upgrades, but i wasnt sure if this affect myself, as I have maxed Weapons skill, and the upgrade stipulates only those with inadequite skill levels. I do have a gunners hat.
you forgot the shredder ammo for the chaingun
This video was made before the ammo was released. I talk about it in this video during the anniversary update th-cam.com/video/Z5r1L7ZZGNM/w-d-xo.html
I mass craft piercing ammunition and thats all I use.
Nukes are just so much fun
While looting a sunken submarine I found some alien coil gun ammo. Is it any different from the normal coil gun ammo?
Should be the same, but does it say "Alien coilgun"? or just you found it on an Alien ship?
@IronicandDead Nvm, I checked and it's just Phsyicorium ammo. When I found it I was unaware of that type of ammo and it sounded and looked alien to me, especially with that hexagon texture.
Have you made a guide on the creatures of Barotrauma? If not, can you?
I think the devs have 1 or 2 more updates to go where there will be loads more, will do one then. 😀
Buy Fulgurium Battery Cells to deconstruct to fuel your tri-lasers.
In campaign, playing with comrades, i already used several nukes almost FOR FUN and i dont have any regrets using my nuclear arsenal against Europa's fauna
thanks
What would be the best turrets to run, I know at least one rail gun, but what else? I’ve never really understood the differences of the turrets
I would say the chaingun is probably one of my fav, but if you need to save on lead then laser turrets, for large turrets the double coilgun with explosive absolutely shreds.
Physi-Corium ie, physical damage
I'm not sure where you got the name Phsyicorium from. Multiple points in the video, you hover over Physicorium items with the proper spelling. It seems a little strange that you'd record the entire guide without confirming a typo.
so the pulse laser is basically a sniper rifle
chain gun's low accuracy makes it hit more often lol
Friend and I got 3 turrets, made it about 25% into the game. We finished a mission set and when we started a new set 2 of the turrets disappeared. What happened? Do they wear out? Help!
They do not unless you are playing with mods, very odd.
@@IronicandDead no mods here. We blew all our money last run now we have to ride out with one turret. This is messed up 😭
A bit late to the party but Phy makes the fi sound
So it would be ficorium
Does anyone know if you can move turrets to different hardpoint spots? Saw i want to reposition my railgun to a different spot for better coverage. So far, from some basic testing, once i uninstall a gun, it dissapears, neither selling or being able to be reused.
So you can achieve this by creating a custom sub, or editing one of the per-existing ones. However this also may be possible in the next update, will need to wait and see.
I believe Physicorium is pronounced 'Fizz-ih-core-eum' That's the way i pronounce it at least, and it rolls off the tounge better.
Lasers are bad in Air, in Water they'd be even worse
Nuclear depth charge crashed my server
