  • What makes for an effective outbreak response? Explore successful systems from around the world that prevented epidemics.
    --
In 2013, an Ebola outbreak began in Guinea. The country had no formal response system and the outbreak became the largest Ebola epidemic in recorded history. Guinea then completely overhauled their response system, and were able to successfully combat another outbreak in 2021. So what does an effective epidemic response look like? George Zaidan explores how different communities have taken action.

This video is very important specially when we consider how the majority of news are skewed to scary, sad, violent, or otherwise bad stories, since that's what sells. What we don't realize is that the good news happen all the time, but are just not reported enough.

That's true to an extent. But good things typically happen because people make them happen. We can't sit back and wait for someone else to make something good happen - we need to contribute (directly and/or indirectly). In this case, everyone can't be an epidemiologist. But we can demand government policies that support epidemiologists and other health workers, to allow them to try to protect the rest of us. And we can follow the guidelines of health professionals. And we can talk to people in our social circles to try to point them toward valid medical and scientific information and away from "alternative medicine," pseudoscience, conspiracy theories, religious nonsense, and politicized nonsense.
*I'm not suggesting that all religious beliefs are nonsense here. But faith healing, medical conditions being caused by demons, refusing blood transfusions, fasting oneself to death, etc. are religious nonsense.

Hold companies like FOX and CNN responsible for ANGERTAINMENT these profiteering gluttons will stoop to any level for ratings boost they are ANGERTAINMENT NETWORKS not "news" networks. Anyone with an ounce of integrity as a viewer would realize that.
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why people like Tucker Carlson and MANY OF HIS CO-WORKERS have no integrity, do not fact check and are not WORTHY in the way of the key virtue a decent "reporter" needs most of all. INTEGRITY...
In recent times both FOX and CNN have shown us they have no integrity what they are is angertainment seeking fear mongering fascist supporting profiteering GLUTTONS.

I don’t think they emphasized the amazing difference enough; it’s not even the fact that it costed 0.2% as much in 2021 as it did in 2023, tens of thousands of people, potentially more, were saved by the work of these nurses, epidemiologists and administrators. It’s an amazing step forward, and I hope we can all learn from this success.

And even with something that the overwhelming majority of Americans support, like universal background checks for firearm purchases, we ultimately don't replace politicians who don't do what the overwhelming majority of people want (including most gun owners). We're our biggest problem. Until we start behaving responsibly, we shouldn't expect significant positive change.

    • @loki2240
      @loki2240 ปีที่แล้ว +6

We should be spending our money on our people, regardless of labels. It's the right thing to do, rather than supporting plutocracy.
Even the wealthy will tend to have a higher quality of life from everyone who wants to contribute to society being free to contribute to society and being supported in their efforts. We can look at past eras with societies with extreme wealth stratification, and wealthy people often had lower qualities of life than middle class people in many countries today. Yes, modern technology is a huge factor. But less wealth stratification allowed more people to become educated and produce a lot of that technology. If we were completely reliant upon the wealthy for advancements in science, medicine, etc., we (including wealthy people) would be far worse off. We should invest in our people, within countries and across our species.

About the Brazilian case: the video says Brazil quenched the yellow fever outbreak "primarily by mounting a massive vaccination campaign. That strategy worked well because ... its population was accustomed to regular routine vaccinations".
That used to be the case, before 2020. Unfortunately, Bolsonaro painstakingly worked to undermine the Brazilian trust in vaccines during his time in office, and had a lot of success. Today antivaxxers are a real threat to our country, thanks largely to him.

Are you saying that some random dude has access to your account?
Go to your Google Account page, select "Security" on the left navigation panel. Then, on there, scroll down to "Your devices" and select Manage all devices. You can sign out any device you don't recognize.
There's another possibility which is none of this is actually because of some psycho.
Sometimes, TH-cam doesn't send a notification to a reply to your comment. TH-cam also deletes comments with links in them. Spam-like comments get flagged into a TH-camr's "Held for review" section, but I seen a fair share of normal comments being in it. You could also have been blocked by a TH-camr, so your comments are blacklisted.
Your clipboard being cleared could be caused by spyware, but it also could be caused by shutting down your device or restarting.
Recommendations are based on searches, videos you watched and also comments you made. So, unless somebody did all of that, there is really no reason that TH-cam's algorithm would serve you those types of content. Either way, you can click on the 3-dots next to the title of the video then click "Don't recommend channel" ("Not interested" should also work, but in my experience, it just serves you other types of video similar to it).

God loves you and takes care of you so that this message reaches you. God is the one who created this great universe and has complete control over it. And the greatest loss that a person loses in this life is that he lives while he does not know God who created him, knowing the Messenger of Muhammad, the last of the messengers, and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions. The great intelligence, before you believe in something or not, is to read it, study it, and understand it well, and then you have the choice to believe in it or not. I advise you on this now before you do not have time to do that.

Ah, the illusion of control. Everything seems so simple when you blame it on some grand conspiracy instead of a complex messy reality that you have zero control/understanding of.
