- Sports Card Investor, Geoff Wilson, and Sports Card Radio have been at odds for years now. Geoff Wilson has one of the biggest Sports Card TH-cam Channels out there, if not the biggest. While Sports Card Radio has a unique hobby following as the watchdogs of everything sports cards.

@sportscardradio rely on Wilson for content. Without Wilson their program length gets cut in 1/2. They used to trip on Goldin as well, now they just cruise the Goldin platform while doing their show. Basically, they now promote Goldins' site to their slew of Yes Men. Keep in mind Goldin is a guy they were once Hellbent against.
Geoff Wilson used PPE funds illegally.

Ive watched both channels in the past and have to say im on the side of sports card radio. Without them I wouldnt know about all the shady stuff in the industry. Geoff sets off my spidey senses. Feel like his persona is an acting job to hide his shady intentions. Don't know if its true but thats how he makes me feel.
I'd say my read is pretty equal to everything you said.

Let’s not forget how Geoff Wilson publicly trashed Topps Project 2020 and his beaf with Blake Jamieson.
This set brought more attention and fans of the hobby to Topps than any other product at its time. It was artistic and bold. Cheers to all the artists who made it a great set to collect.

I’ve watched SCR for awhile. Well before the pandemic, I think the lives are annoying. They stretch the truth and talk about a story over and over again just to have something to talk about
It’s funny how bad they bashed Goldin and looking back talking about how everything was shill bid , but now they’re on every live stream buying cards from the very site they told everybody shill bidding was rampant, it feels like they spent so much time bashing Ken and now all of a sudden they don’t care. It’s not even the fact they buy cards on his site . They completely stopped talking about him., but they claim they weren’t paid off or threatened? That doesn’t make any sense
I think the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan drama went over the line. All someone has to do is spend 15 minutes on educating themselves how the program worked to know there was no basis to accuse Geoff Wilson of any wrongdoing. Sports Card Radio relied on people's willful ignorance to get views and clicks. There are people to this day that think Geoff Wilson is under investigation over the PPP loan fake controversy. There's enough stuff to criticize Geoff Wilson about without needing to make stuff up about him. I despise the man and what he represents.
I watch them both for the entertainment. some people / companies do need called out tho. Also, i don take geoff wilsons advice on any investments. too many L's imo.
I was watching a Ken Goldin IG live post when I commented "Sports Card Radio is Undefeated" ...he got baited into calling them "Jack Off's". SCR predictably pooped themselves over it

It is a microcosm of the real world. Imagine what gets attention vs what really should.
The problem with Geoff is his advice is laughably bad. A lot of his trades are shocking and when he talks about cards there are a lot of factual errors. If he was giving out stock tips he would have been laughed out of the finance industry. To be fair he’s not the only one. There are plenty of TH-cam channels that popped up during lockdowns who are similarly clueless.

Been following Sports Card Radio since 2018. They came a long way from just their website and Apple Podcasts. Glad they have blown up because all they ever have done is expose scammers and frauds. We need SCR in this hobby !
They are bullies. All they do is talk shit about people. It USED to be they would call out the BS but now its personal and they just talk negative about others. Its disgusting. Shows who they truly are.

Sad to say, but all of these breakers have ruined the hobby for me. Can’t stand Geoffey, Goldin, Stryker, Slob Stack (whatever the name) and a few others. Very Shady, Slimey individuals!! Throw Fanatics into the picture as well. I’ve turned my attention to the Silver, Precious Metals market, much more stable. I’ll still dilly dally with some baseball and hockey cards. I’ll say this much, I have more knowledge about the 4 major sports leagues than probably 98% of these idiots doing breaks.
I like both channels. Geoff investing a few million dollars in Card HQ takes big balls. I think and hope he does well.

The PPP stuff made for some entertaining content, but the accusations of misdoings with the funds were baseless. Businesses that took out those loans had to show how every cent was spent in order to qualify for the forgiveness. Geoff says some laughable stuff regularly but I think he’s above the board with how he operates and probably is well intentioned.
Does seem like SCR did a 180 on Ken Goldin.

What I think he is trying to do and has done is make sports card investing less of a hobby and more a business mentality. Which I think is a good thing in the long run. I think his card shop is going to push boundaries of what we think of as a LCS. I think overall he is trying to grow the hobby and build a long lasting business...i dont see how any one can hate him for that.

Gelp Wilson is nothing more than a slightly polished used car Salesman. He is only in this for the $$$, he doesn't give a rats *** about the hobbyist, his focus is and always has been on the children, the young or new collectors/investors. When Gary Vee came a knocking pushing his Zero Cool Crap, Gelp Wilson immediately started defending Gary when people who had been in the hobby 40-50 years would say anything less than positive about Zero Fool cards.

I live in Atlanta and have been a baseball card collector/investor since the late 80s. It took me the third time to get so frustrated I told them yall will be done in a year. Sports Card Radio takes the win. Dont forget about Geoff's Desmond Ridder graded card lol.
Fatal Attraction Radio = Sports card radio. They used to be a respectable watch dawg. Now they are just fake news, overly biased….every piece of content is based on Wilson. I have challenged them many times….to come up with content….at least a couple shows (i would settle for even 1 show!) without mentioning anything about Wilson. they cannot do it! Everyone also is aware….that the beginning intro of any content…is always the most important/valuable--and, they even have their Wilson song in their intro. Wilson owns them, and the space in their head. Sad. They used to be respectable. And-to say they are the biggest….is also a joke. They have been around for 5 plus years….and have VERY weak numbers. Dan the Card man is so much more quality and fair. Fatal Attraction Radio…is a joke. The only response they have to anyone that questions them, is: “you must be a WIlson fan”……which means…they dont have any reasonable response.
SCR brags about being the longest sports card channel but at only 28 k subs im not sure its something to be proud of. I see them staying at 28K for a while as their channel shows little growth in subscribers. Unfortunately their channel will never be more than what it is now. Which is not much.
For a troll channel those numbers are exceptional

I almost forgot but I will basically guarantee that cards hq will fail. The only way he has 300k TH-cam subscribers is because there’s tech companies that make bots that people can buy and use AI to comment and subscribe to their TH-cam or any of the social media platforms and other types of apps and sites. In person people like him pay people to pretend to be friends and on the internet he can just easily “invest in tech companies” (his words not mine) by buying their bots to follow him on TH-cam and social media. 😂
SCR when criticizing Jeffs card shop should always have to put out a disclaimer that they themselves are two failed card shop owners.

As a almost failed card shop owner I despise Geoff opening a store because my distributors who I have been dealing with for 5 years don't care about me cause I don't have enough capital. When people like Geoff can come in and push out all the little guys and get all the good deals from the distributors it makes it like Walmart vs your local grocery store, we simply cannot compete with the deals they get because they have millions in capital.

@@kmik4466 I feel like wholesalers/distributors should have to sell product for the same price to the small shops and large shops alike but that's not what happens. It creates a industry where backroom deals and kickbacks are the norm.

SCR and Dan the card man do a great job exposing the Geoff Wilson's of the hobby. I appreciate the work they do. Unfortunately there are a lot of shady dealings going on in the collectables world and Geoff is no doubt one of them.
They can be completely separate companies-and one company hires another for their services. When people try to use Wilson’s clips of him saying these things…..aren’t exposing anything…..to the viewer that has common sense. I’m not a Wilson fan--but, he can still be saying 100 percent truth. They can be completely separate…..and, one be properly hired to provide services to another and help build another. Geez….dont be one of those pages like “fatal attraction radio” that spreads fake news
We will never know the truth. Sure he could of used all $2M creditably, he could have used some of the $2M nefariously. I think my breakdown was plenty fair to both sides. Overall SCR channel can be a one song album. However they do their homework and our the leaders in the "card watchdog" space.
A sidenote, that is a lot of money. Not $2K, or $20K, but $2M. I'm not saying Geoff did, but many people spent that extra cash floating around in COVID time on improper things. That is part of the reason the card market peaked at crazy highs during that same period.
