Baby Base 10 : Solid Booster, Magma management, F for Sweepy : Oxygen not included

- The rocket silo is to hot to enter without atmo suits, so we end up going the long way round to try and service the silo. We squish up the magma tank at the bottom of the map so we can enlarge the silo. While also finally tapping into the Oil well at the bottom. The constant trek across the meteor top of the map becomes to much and we install atmo docks outside the bedrooms and almost accidentally suffocate our dupes as we suck to much O2 out of the map to fill the docks. But finally we have a solid rocket program and petroleum rockets are just around the corner.

Your tutorials have helped me so much with the “mid game hump” especially with cooling. Thanks a lot you made the game so much more fun
Love hearing that, this game has so much fun locked behind the mid game and not enough people get to enjoy it.
You didn't have to kill the sweepy. He could have stayed after all his hard work... You monster, you.
I know, but I needed the space. They did amazing work and deserved better.
I know. I was like "F for.." Oh. Haha. A dupe got killed. Well, it happens. Or maybe he finally "evolved" all the pips that were in the way of the rocket chimney? Naughty Pips. Let's see what go... "F for Sweepy." Francis. You MONSTER! NO WHISKEY FOR YOU!

"the only downside is that, occasionally, this path is rained upon by meteors and is turned into an unlivable hellscape"
Again, not the worst you have ever designed XD
ahhh thanks, that means a lot.
The beginning of the next baby base: "Well, half my duplicants started pissing themselves because I blocked their access to the only toilet on the map." Very ONI.
LMFAO I just realised that. That's funny as hell.
Based on the fact that there were some dubes cooking in exosuits above, he most likely made the door to the right of the bedroom impassable, and forced the dupes to walk though the kitchen to pie while still wearing the suite
@FerrybigGaming Thank you for filling in the bits I failed to mention, also hell of a deduction.
Francis John I found an anti entropy machine and tried using it to cool the liquid from a cool steam vent, instead of the oxygen coming from my SPOM. I had it all setup and then just boiled my base with 70c oxygen. Cycle 97. One day I'll make it!
Your ranch nugget video saved my life by the way. Love the videos!
This map has to be killing Francis John, I mean, he's made Rodruigezs' bigger than this base before lol.
JK, I'm sure it's a fun challenge.
You can see him die inside a bit every time he has to manually do something that even new players can easily automate on normal maps
Without the challenge it would be just another plain old play though.
@@TheLoiteringKid if he plays it, I would watch him every single time xD
@@xarzneimittel8220 100% agree, his playthrough isn't a normal noobie oni player, he is a professional with really great tips plus its enjoyable to watch, every Monday I eat my lunch watching his newly released oni video
Remember your earliest games? when you kept having to rebuild, change things, squeeze things in here and there to make pipes fit. Fit things into spaces they should not fit.
That is this entire map. I dread recording episodes because I have not idea what I'm going to do next, but at the same time I love recording them because I have not idea what I'm going to do next.
This episode starting around minute 10 is EXACTLY how most of my games end up. Francis bases are usually well built and safe, but these bunker doors getting destroyed is like my base every other cycle.
I had completely forgot about that goal of flooding your entire rime map and was wondering how that's going?
He gave us a little sneak a couple of days ago. 🕵️. He made a comment about being logged in to his rocket chimney map 🤓
I just binged 3 of his playthroughs
Ouch, to recover I recommend a bacon cheese toasty, dark chocolate and depending on the laws in your area a nice whisky. Followed by a very very long nap.
Francis John haha, im at work right now literally watching your rime achievement run again.
"Nothing horrific happened." Famous last words.
this base is like the Nostromo in Alien, mess dripping everywhere, animals running around, steam eruptions lol
Those are not meteors, they are homing missiles.
Atmo suits have huge magnets built into them, makes sure the meteor gravitate towards them.
One idea, and one question
The idea: Build a Rocket consisting only of the Engine, a Solid Booster and a Cargo Module. With this setup even a Steam Rocket can barely farm resurces from the first Planets. So you could grab Niobium right now.
The question: Shouldn't you be able to build a Petroleum Boiler powered by the Hydrogen Vent? The Hydrogen emitted is 500°C, so hot enough to cook Crude Oil, but also cold enough to not cook it into Sour Gas. The throughput might be miniscule even during the active phase, but it should work nontheless. I know that this map in particular isn't large enough, but maybe try it as a proof of concept in a future playthrough.
The hydrogen that comes out has barely enough energy to keep one steam turbine operational sporadically. It won't have the heat energy to boil any more than a few kilograms of crude oil into petroleum at any time. It's more efficient to just make sour gas --> Natural gas and feed it through natural gas generators.
That hydrogen vent is annoying to deal with, it's to hot for steel but has so little mass that it can't heat anything of value. I will be building a boiler but the heat source will be a therimum aquatuner running supercoolant. I played with the idea of running a solid fuel rocket but they are so inefficient I just could not do it.
I really enjoy your videos as much as I play ONI myself! :) In my opinion, you should try the mode called "Lights Out" in your next ONI project. It is really tough and you have to change your gameplay to these circumstances. Just a suggestion :) I hope you enjoy aaand see you in the next episode!
I want to try something a little bigger next game, this map has been very measured I want to go big.
I’ve absolutely been In love with all these videos but as brilliant as you are , your scatter-brained AF. Slow down bro it’s cool we can wait a couple more episodes LOL
This map is messing with my head. It feels like I'm trying to build a piece of IKEA furniture while the furniture and me and still in the box.
Since I'm anticipating an increase in base heat due to pre-emptively forcing all of the dupes to use atmosuits while doing base activities in general, I think Francis had better hope that his critters can take the heat.
All the critters on the left hand side of the map are currently cramped so they are all going to die off, I don't really have a use for them as ranching takes up so much space.
@@FrancisJohnYT And what about the critters on the east side, such as the Pokeshells?
@@ShadowWolfTJC the lime is very valuable, they get to live in a tiny cramped location.
This baby base is awesome!
thats the first time i've ever seen a dupe actually get hit by a meteor
My dupes live a more "action packed" and less union orientated life, I have lost count of the amount of hits I have seen them take, 30 or 40 at least.
what??? its not even the first time in this series one got hit lol .
Francis, to manage the magma, what if you put all the magma inside liquid tanks and break the tanks so the liquids all drop in a bottle? That way you'd actually be able to fully automate the geothermal power by placing autosweepers within range to all the magma bottles and the liquid dropoff since I'm almost sure the liquid dropoffs can work with auto sweepers. If that manages to work you could fully automate your geothermal power PLUS store all your magma in bottles! But hey, I'm not sure whether that works or not, and its just an idea, I mean you are the one in charge here
EDIT: Forgot to add that if you are going to pump it, you'd need to use the system you made on the badlands map but not using Visco gel, which is doable but somewhat risky to start off
sounds like an idea. Problem is you have to put the pump on the right side of the magma, where the oil well already is. Easier is just to let dupes do the pumping. If you manually order the "move to" they will drop any magma they are carring. Or you automated it with a motion detector that also works. That way you can take the stuff out with pitcher pumps
@@reinhardgentz4042 Yeah but that's a lot of micromanagement, you can just rebuild the magma pump 3 times placing it uptop or squeeze some blocks to do a perfect magma pump.
You need the magma to be down and some other liquid to be at the right side, so the pump pumps 5kg/s of each but you filter the other liquid to go back to the right side right?
I know it's not the most efficient thing but that magma down their is a clock. As it runs out I have a visual indicator of my power reserves slowly depleting. Before that runs out I need an alternative power source. Solar is out, so I have only three choices. Hamster wheels which is a never so really only two choices, Petroleum boiler or sour gas boiler.
So every time I look at the bottom of the map I am reminded, get therimum, get supercoolant because if you don't you run out of power. Good think you can see the entire map all the time, it's very motivational.
@@FrancisJohnYT so you are planning on the most extreme compacted sour gas boiler even seen in oni? H o l y jehesus, that's something I'd pay to see. I know it ain't the most difficult thing in the world, I made one myself that used magma power to make 11 gens run flat-out but making it ultrasmall for fitting in your map will definitively be an interesting challenge to see, really looking forward to seeing it
Maybe put the petroleum refinery on the left of the map above the polluted water vent? That way any natural gas would get vented to space.
Also maybe use the polluted water to drip cool the left side of the map, keeping it from boiling.
Left side of the map should be a viable position now that we have atmo suits built onto the bedrooms. Also now that everyone is in suits the left hand side of the map can cook.
GG. I recommend that you remove that can of oil next to the door to the rocket silo before it changes to sour gas.
I have to figure out a way to get all the loose crude into my new oil tank.
Hey Francis. Love your work as always, but it looks like you added episode 9 a second time to the baby base playlist instead of adding episode 10. Thanks for everything!
Cheers for that, youtube keeps doing that to me, not sure why it is happening.
Scanner with zero network quality still has a good chance of seeing a rocket coming. you should set one up as a backup.
I hear a suggestion to use a timer, I'm leaning towards giving it a shot to see if it can be made to work.
There's a very useful mod that allows dupes to idle in their atmo suits, rather than returning it when they have no more work to do outside and standing around being scalded by the airlock.
It's very frustrating behaviour, with the docks moved to the bedrooms it should simplify things greatly.
can you for future move the rocket 2 tiles up (tiresome i know) but place down bunker tiles, and run pipes through them so that you can extract the heat so that you could power steam turbines?
or do meteorites damage them though the bunker tiles?
He will probably just make it into a steam tube like he did in a previous series for the power. Bunker tiles should protect them as long as they are inside the tiles.
The space restrictions are the biggest problem, finding space to attach in a steam turbine is very difficult. I was thinking of just making a mini sour gas boiler and using that for all my power, it should be relatively compact and perfectly sustainable.
17:15 Guys please stop licking the boiling hot airlock!
The genetic copies of some of earths top researchers, ladies and gentleman.
I have this untested suspicion that they might stop hanging around the atmosuit docks if they had a rec room to stand around in instead. Though why they like standing around the docks in the first place is a mystery to me xD
Not to be mean, but I enjoy watching this struggle alot :D
Not sure if i could power through.
I reckon you could just about put the oil refinery above the oil reservoir especially now that everyone is in atmos suits and just collect all your natural gas in that 1 area.
Though it will still be messy until you get viscogell locks.
What happens when the Natural gas from the oil refinery comes in contact with the Magma down there :) Sounds toasty!
You can store the magma at the left side of the map, over the polluted water loadout, make a ladder that goes down from the side, so 1 wall line to close that off, then make some micro management to the doors so that the dupes will only move from the bottom of the map to the steam turbines to cool stuff off. it seems like a long project, i know, but you don't have much of a choice if you want to do 2 rockets anyways. So, imagine that magma sideways and place it there.
That will put a lot of magma heat into the rocket exhaust as they carry it through, and they cant carry magma through any liquid lock for long.
It would need to be a vacuum route the whole way, if a magma bottle drops in a liquid lock bad things happen. Then I would have to move the power generation as well. I'm not sure I have the time, once the magma runs out I need an alternative power source in place or I'm going to be using hamster wheels.
I had an idea. You could combine the water sieve and cooling by pumping in polluted water heating it into dirt and steam. Use the turbine to turn the steam into water. This should save sand and space because you don't need the water sieve or compost.
Currently any heat source I have is sealed in, it's difficult to break in and service/modify them while they are active. Plus shortly I'll have all the science finished and I won't need dirt anymore thankfully.
@@FrancisJohnYT ok just a thought to save space since you said you were going to move your turbine cooler
26:25 new dupe, glances to the topleft, 6 idle dupes.. nice :)
I need to get them more jobs, on it.
this whole challenge has been wild.
Something really strange I found out while playing was that you can actually melt atmo suits into dirt lol. Doubt it'll be useful but very interesting! Kinda makes reed fiber + refined metal = dirt
Does that also explain how a dupe turned into refined carbon?
@@thesentientneuron6550 I believe that happens when a dupe is wearing a snazzy suit (or other special clothes) as the game defines those clothes as being made of coal for some reason.
Juuust let the dirty water into the rocket shaft and you will get diirt with the wazer gone from heat :)
I knooow... the series is over. Just for the future, at least. For others too
Can you add a manual timer for launching the rockets.
After a set amount of time, the timer will open the doors.
I like that idea, set the timer on launch and the doors auto open on return, I bet I still break a few doors but should be good fun as a proof of concept.
I have an Idea regarding sustainable energy. Drop regolith into your magma storage. Same concept as a regolith melter, just not as refined :D but you should still net out energy positive and with that never worry that your magma gets fully depleted.
automation of that process is tricky though. maybe keep the bottom 2 tiles of your rocket silo empty, to have a regolith farm place where you can do the auto miner setup from the left and right should work out without them being exposed. sweep them up and drop into the magma. i don't know how to control the amount of the magma though.
We thought about that before but we are not 100% but even if it worked that wouldn't work
Remember that a 29kw regolith melter uses 27 steam turbines, that would be bigger than his hole map
Plus we have another problem, in normal circumstances, we'd use a volcano just to Melt the regolith and use its power, so if you just drop the regolith on the magma biome it wouldn't just flash the regolith but would try to reach thermal equilibrium which could reduce by a lot your power gain Plus may even make the system not work.
Plus Francis said 200 times already in many comments that he was thinking about a sour gas boiler because a 1kg/s one can do 11 natural gas generators at the cost of 1/3 of the oil well he has
Do you have any intentions of trying the 100 dupe challenge and seeing how long it would take to get to stability. Also love your vids, just bindged a whole playthrough. Your vids got me through the mid game, almost gave up at first.
The 100 dupe challenge is next up. Once I finish up this shoe box.
I'm rather sure the problem is your door, not the sneezing ;) I never had problems making a standard airlock but with bizs of liquid instead of the full thing. Also you can drop bits of 2 different liquids so they pile up and create a "full" layer (visually & technically). But Im sure it is the door deleting liquids. It had this issue with gasses once but I don't know if it persists. If the game mechanics allowed it to happen with breath, liquids could be deleted by breath in tile bits on flat floor either. Even if you run your dupes a million times on a floor with liquid water, their breath never deletes it. Just another proof it's not the dupes deleting the liquids but the doors.
as always thanks for the video :)
Dube A: What did you do today?
Dube B: I got entomed and you?
Dube A: Me too, oh look there is a beautiful fireball coming our way.
Dube B: Maybe we should move?
Dube A: Nah, it`s gone be alright, maybe?
Dube A got entomed. Dube B got entomed.
Duplicants, they always find a way to stress you out.
Challenge: try to fit a sour gas boiler on this map just for the fun of it
That is my long term power plan, it's the only thing I can think of that will provide sustainable power on this map. A little 1kg/s boiler should be fairly compact.
@@FrancisJohnYT You can probably make one work in less space than your geothermal power system and magma tank currently take up. The heat exchange doesn't need to be super efficient since you'll be swimming in power anyway. Though, powering the warmup phase might be a bit interesting, since your geothermal will probably have to be ripped out first.
An idea for space efficiency, put the wathersives and some of the generators on the side of the Rocket silo, (prefferably all machines which have low dup interaction)
Good idea, but that would really complicate the piping because the rockets will also need piping in the future.
Tried that, sieves overheat, even steel. Generators work well though, since they drop more pwater into a system ready made for it.
Ideally we would scale down to one water sieve and after dirt science is finished I will be getting rid of the petroleum generator. I'm not sure what is going to be permanent just yet, not until I get some space material, until I have that on lock everything is temporary.
F FOR SWEEPY
I don’t think your bottom bedroom at the end can access the bathroom. Also might need to add a “soiled suit” handling system.
Oh the backs of the bedrooms are locked, all the dupes go the long way round to the bathroom.
F for sweepy
Dude, you have obsidian! build all the stuff in the magma of that.
He has 59t of ceramic, which is a much better insulator. He can build those out of ceramic if he really needed it. If you mean the ladders, he probably is happy to have more magma anyway.
Could probably find a way to use your water storage up top as a in between to the suits and the rocket.
Don't know if you addressed this and didn't cover it on the video, but will the ladder up to the kitchen/dining room create pathing issues for the dupes? I.e. can they bypass the suit docks by going up to the dining room?
It won't cause pathing issues but dupes might continue to get scalded anyway. Nice spot!
Doors at the back of the bedrooms are restricted, they are effectively walls. Dupes can use the bathroom while in Atmo suits, don't ask me about the mechanics of that.
Ah that makes sense thank you sir! I was assuming they had to be out of suits for the bathroom...odd indeed!
You need to ladder down from the bathroom to the bottom row of bedrooms. So the dupes in that room don't have to go all the way out and around
All the dupes are all going the long way round, they use they bathroom in their suits. It's not a pretty solution but it should work.
Yay! More ONI :)
I would really like to try this mini base, but one thing that looks really annoying is that you can't build past that neutronium and that dupes get entombed a lot there. It would be much better if you had 3 tiles up off of that to build bunker doors sweepers etc.
Better =/ easier, for a challenge map. You can simply not send dupes up there after you have a bit of regolith. I built a mining beam in mine, cooled by it touching my liquid lock. That 7 tiles on one side plus what the rocket exhause cleared at the bottom of the other side got me enough regolith to sustain the bases needs.
@@rubikmonat6589 I really don't talk about basses needs, just about how annoying digging up your dupes is. Also I didn't say anything about better=/= easier., It's just annoying. Yes you shouldn't even consider your dupes outside. That's the problem. This base really is a little too restrictive.
That's also why the meteors keep coming through, too. The regolith can't build up there. The game destroys it. Too close to the ceiling.
you can use the rocket exhaust to build a 1kg batch petroleum / sour gas boiler
I am not sure the rockets would be frequent enough to do it reliably, I'm going to hold out until I can get space metal and make a permanent sour gas boiler.
By the way, the basin for your magma is made out of igneous rock
I think it will melt eventually, if I'm not wrong
Without temp shift plates it's not to likely or should take so long as to be effectively impossible.
i want to ask a question. Is there a way to build in space? If it's not do you bother using a mod to allow that?
@Dahn oh i haven't finished the video yet. guess i should wait for the end. that makes sense. thank you!!
The oil well doesn't overpressurize. I usually don't bother with its natural gas
I'm trying to stretch my power reserves, when that magma runs out I need to have a replacement power supply in place or I'm going to be running on hamster wheels.
@@FrancisJohnYT lord, if you had to run a base at this stage with hamster wheels, I'm pretty sure it would require all 10 of your dupes to power or something ridiculously inefficient like that!
I don’t know if this is the right place to ask and Francis probably won’t see this but I was having trouble figuring out how to transition from mealwood to hatches I have the ranch design but after I get rid of the meal wood the dupes always end up starving. So I was wondering if anyone knows what I am doing wrong?
Assuming that you have enough hatches to feed your dupes(look up the exact number in his tutorial video), you need to keep growing mealwood until your meat stockpiles rises up over a certain number of kilocalories. You can determine this number by calculating how many kilocalories your duplicants consume between the time it takes for you to get a "batch" of meat(a bunch of eggs simultaneously evolving into meat at the same time). Let's say in my colony, the dupes consume 20,000kCal of food between "batches", I'd want to have at least 1.5 to 2 times that amount in storage to act as a buffer. So build up a massive stockpile of meal lice and employ this at the same time to successfully transition to barbecue. Something very important here that I realized later on is that an infinite food storage spot is absolutely necessary. You don't need the chlorine in the start(CO2 will do) as long as you keep food poisoning germs in check. Hope you found this helpful!
ThisSentientNeuron thank you for the help I’m gonna do the math now
I had similar troubles before too, but once you figure it out, it's really straightforward. Just requires a lot of patience to set up. Make sure you have automation to sweep the eggs and coal out and an auto evolution chamber. Have auto sweepers to sweep out the meat and eggshells too. You really don't want the dupes hauling all of this.
@@etman05 Beware that as for the time between "batches", take an average. Sometimes less eggs pop. Sometimes more do. Averaging helps.
why dont you enable a rocket entrance from the bottom? In the magma area they're already using atmo suit
Could not figure in a way to squeeze in a full liquid lock, with a mini one it could break and flood the magma biome with steam or CO2. Since that area is the source of my power I was not willing to risk it.
the magma tank is losing volume. the left wall could be moved inward.
running a bit of cooling loop through liquid lock can reduce chances of boiling it with rocket exhaust or magma-heated insulated tiles (maybe using normal pipes so it can't overwhelm cooling system)
also do you think next time your going to remove the polluted oxygen filtration to make clay, cause you were arounf 45 tons of ceramic and im not sure how much youll really need, you can use that space more efficiently
and 75 tons of clay, i think ur good
I don't know, I'm a bit of a hoarder maybe just a little bit more :)
@@FrancisJohnYT thats exactly the type of answer i was expecting, lol.
Slightly worried about your bathroom access. Might want to add an extra ladder down to the bottom bedroom area?
The back doors of the bedrooms are locked otherwise they can get out via the dining area instead of the atmo docks. The dupes can use the bathroom while wearing atmo suits, don't ask me how.
I’m a little sad you didn’t stack some pacu for surf n turf. FJ building composters and oil refineries. Never thought I’d live to see the day. What’s next, showers?
Oh wow I have become everything I have fought against, next up showers and comfy beds. But if I did build showers it would only be for the polluted water.
You are a terrible influence on my lol. I just finished building an industrial steam sauna with 3 regular volcanoes and and iron volcano inside of it. Combination of bad bad things but so far no issues
3 regular volcanoes!!! I hope you strapped a lot of steam turbines to the top of that thing.
Francis John they are running flat out. I am waiting for when all aren’t dormant at the same time to see what goes wrong
New to the game so I have a question; The rocket area was getting expanded towards the magma. The magma has an atmos suit dock to enter the area. Why not put a door between the magma and expanded rocket area?
I was tempted, but I need to keep the magma biome a vacuum. So that means a liquid lock, even if I make the space I'm not comfortable having a liquid lock so close to the exhaust of a rocket.
brutal hatch revenge lol
Press F to pay respects
Someone died offscreen around 27:22?
he is inside the rocket maybe
No, a duplicant took place in the rocket, they are not counted, you can get a "colony lost" by loading all your duplicants into rockets
Francis i think that you forgot to rebuild building to reaserch space stuff (i have forgotten its name)
The space science building thingy is it's official name ;) I'm out of space science for it so I replaced it with a rock crusher so I could grind up egg and pokeshells for lime. Once the rocket comes back with more I'll rebuild it.
There is so little space on this map for anything.
You've already got atmo suits to go into the magma, could you expand that and have your dupes go low instead of out into space now that you've lengthened the rocket tube?
I was tempted, but a mistake would flood the magma biome with steam or CO2. Considering that pool of magma is the source of nearly all my power I was not willing to risk it.
"A small price to pay for rockets"
is it just me, or do you also have to rewind to get the full "...aaand we're back" if you open the new tab and it starts before you are ready to settle in and watch.
i was bouta be like make a space metal radiator and heat up a low temp liquid metal, super coolant idk just somethin to make dirt, and then i was like oh yeah space metals, dont have those yet
Put a liquid lock between the magma area and the rocket silo and let them in through there?
I don't like to live that dangerous, what do I make the liquid lock out of that I'm sure won't break or flash to gas that close to a rocket exhaust? That magma biome is the source of all my power right now.
@@FrancisJohnYT Well I would use petroleum but point taken, it is risky!
I love oxygen not included but I have a very bad computer, it is was a good computer served 7+ years but I have to admit it’s not the best by a long shot and I’m thinking about upgrading to a laptop but idk what I should be looking for (I am getting a laptop with 16gb ddr4 ram 512ssd so ram and storage is never going to be a problem), I believe that the bottle neck would be my processor and graphics card but I don’t know what to get any suggestions?
ONI falls into the same category as Factorio, it's all about single core speed. This game cannot multi thread well, get the processor with the highest clock speed. As for graphics this game is not demanding at all, a low end graphics card can handle it just fine.
Though do bear in mind you may want to play other games down the line so a balanced purchase might be prudent.
o yeah
18:30 Won't heat from the magma actually leak through 1 set of insulated tiles on the left there with given enough time?
I don't think that the pressure is high enough for that to happen. I believe that sandstone is the weakest material to build tiles with, so unless those tiles are sandstone, there's probably nothing to worry about.
By enough time we are talking hundreds of cycles before it becomes an issue, but that is assuming I did not use the crude or the magma, insulated tiles are very very good at their job no matter what you make them out of.
@@thesentientneuron6550 i was talking about heat, not the magma itself haha
@@FrancisJohnYT ah i see, thank you!
this map size should be an option for the vanilla game.
I have to agree, though I'm not sure where I would rank it on difficulty.
@@FrancisJohnYT probably depending on the player. if your a macro builder, this would be difficult but if your a micro or minimalist this would be just perfect.
you know you could have tapped into that hydrogen vent long ago if you had built your steam turbine above it to suck the excess heat out of it bringing it down to a temperature that mere steel can handle
And add utility to the steam room like additional aquatuners or refinery cooling. Just keep about 3-4 kg pressure in the H2 room and a regular steel gas pump will not overheat.
Yeah. I'd personally pump all the magma to the far right and make a H2 + magma "silo" to the right of what will eventually be another rocket silo. Then you can pump H2 through steel radiant gas pipes through the magma and just use that in a loop to heat his steam rooms. Siphon off the cooled H2 into H2 generators like he is with the igneous. Might work nicely. Besides, "magma silo" just sounds cool.
If I had it all to do again I would prefer to have the magma steam turbines located else where, but then again this whole map has been one necessity after another. I'm sure more issues or needs will arise and I'll have to make more unpleasant and sub optimal alterations but I'm kind of enjoy having to compromise so much. Not since my earliest play through have I had to rebuild so many parts of my base so many times.
yeeeeii cara eu amo esse série uuuuuhuuuull.
Did you know they released a mod for pausing at dupe print ready, mate?
Already got it :) I'm planning on using it during my 100 dupe challenge run.
Where is episode 11 12 and 13 to go along with this?...ok that was a joke.....but real idea for 25K SUB! (allmost gratz btw) can we get a 2 hour mini base episode?
Oh... I need to plan something don't I... restrictions have been relaxing over here and I have been reunited with my girlfriend and friends. Lets just say my schedule has been hectic. I'll have to think of something.
@Francis John Are my comments being deleted by youtube? I've commented thrice already to put a mechanized airlock under the magma dropper to be able to toggle it so dupes can get in and out easily.
It seems strange because none of my comments have been noticed over the past four videos.
I don't they are being deleted just more I never have enough time to respond to everything. If I put a mechanized airlock under the magma bottle emptier I'm not sure where the debris will pop out.
@@FrancisJohnYT The magma is only dropped in when the door is closed and the door will open only when the igneous rock has injected the heat into the steam room. All of the igneous rock should end up in the steam room.
@@FrancisJohnYT Also, I'm sorry. I didn't realise that.
Um, I'm trying to figure out how he made oxylite on this map. No oxylite refinery, so just space gold, and puft princes?
Map spawns with oxylite
I collected some from puffs but their was also at least one gate package, I have been collecting oxylite and slime in a submerged storage container in the oil biome liquid lock. I have about enough for one more launch, then I will have to start making my own.
Can't you open up the bottom to get acces to your rocket?
I could, but the risk of lots of gas getting into my magma tank is to scary.
yeet
I am wondering why someone would down vote this why?
I presume some people end up getting recommended my video and don't like it, to avoid getting more of the same thrown at them they simply down vote. I don't take it personally. I have no proof that likes, dislikes or comments help or hurt a videos performance anyway.
The 9th video is listed in the Playlist twice
TH-cam keeps doing this to me, I know I'm doing something wrong I just have not figured out what it is.
Why don't you just use transit tube to rocket silo? You have plenty plastic anyway.
Transport tubes can easily melt
I desperately want heat resistant transit tubes.
So... what's the fantasy behind using dirt as fuel for science xD? I'd understand it for hydroponics... but how is using up dirt make you understand hydrocarbon combustion for example (it's dirt, NOT oil shale).
I assume it's the same logic that only allows you to bring bottled water to your super computer, though that might be explained by the presence of the little mechanical drinking bird.
You're playing on a tiny base and the dupes are still upset about long commutes :/
Well in all fairness they have to hike across the top of the map to get to the rocket silo on the other side.
@@FrancisJohnYT Dupes are so needy! They get delicious BBQ and fresh O2, and all they ever do is complain about long commutes.
@@blargh2212 Yes, try surviving in a colony from scratch having to do all your supplies plus having to risk your life for a psychopath that controls you for your entire life, must be really enjoyable
I tried to play this map, I was unable to do it. It's really difficult with my game style. I need more experienece to made so small base like yours
You can work it even smaller if you have less dupes. I got 2 rockets going in mine and it fits just fine. Most important is compressed food. Pacu are the best. 2 tiles give all the food you need.
Making a small base is the complete opposite of my playstyle as well, this has been a very difficult if enjoyable experience for me. Though I have an embarrassing amount of hours in the game to help prepare me for this challenge.
@@reinhardgentz4042 Are you starving ranching infinite pacus abusing the ''I'll do an egg before I die'' propriety?
you got all the oxylite from the printer pod? and why on earth are the not using the left side of the rocket space better? kill those critters and use it for liquid or gas storage!
" it kinda sad to see it pop so let's not"
Algorithm!~
I'll admit I was only half watching but did he just block off his toilet from half of the dupes
Yes. Unless they can get in through the Mess Hall with the suits on... Either way I'm looking forward to next episode starting out with a mess!
They can use the toilet with suits on, don't ask me how that works :) so they all can access the toilets through the mess hall.
@@FrancisJohnYT okay that's good I was just concerned considering that half Second Glance I took showed that you had blocked it off because it looked like it was directly attached to the upper bedroom I'm glad that's not the case I'll be checking it out later
The number of times I've overheated liquid pumps by making them out of the wrong materiall.. I swear..

you can use this solution to keep the heat out : steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1829530620
I don't think I can spare the space, I have to keep things as small as possible, I may end up just using visco gel and having to eat the heat with the aquatuner cooling loop.
@@FrancisJohnYT true, well in my defense you don't need more that one root, the max that will happen is one dup getting stuck waiting for the door to cycle, the good part is that will keep the middle door in vacuum and don't use power.
@@FrancisJohnYT also this setup will eat a bit of gas every time the door cycle, and is best to use dup sensor over pressure plates.
Francis marry me
Sorry Generubi but I love my girlfriend and she loves my whiskey ;)
@@FrancisJohnYT fine....
Do people still comment "first" on videos?
If so then i'm probably not first :/
You are the fourth actually.
I am happy to have something to watch on my way home from work 😊
