Travel with me today, as I take you on a sketchbook tour of my Greece Sketchbooks.
At the beginning of October, I went on a 12-day trip to Greece with The Blue Walk (www.thebluewalk.com/).
We traveled from Athens to Amorgos, then Naxos, and we ended on Santorini.
On the trip, I taught a group of artists how to fill their travel sketchbooks. We had class every day in the most amazing places - I feel so lucky and priviliged to have been on this fantastic trip.
Today, I am sharing the drawings i made while I was there - some of them I did as drawing demonstrations during class, others are 'regular' travel sketchbook pages. Hopefully by looking at my pages, you'll be feeling the vacation vibe and feel like you're with me for a moment at these exotic surroundings. I also hope that it inspires you to capture moments in daily life - to remember small (day-to-day) adventures and to be in the moment with just you, your sketchbook and your favorite art materials.

The graphic novel style was super cool too. I admire how well you capture a lot of details in fun, simple shapes!

It must be great to put the smartphone camera away, use the eyes and paint/draw/sketch what you see. An inspiring collection of scenes, figures, cats, buildings etc.
The graphic novel, in a kind of "comic style" at the end, is a great way to capture the timeline of the whole trip. How do you find the time to do all this?
I don’t find time. I make time.

I really enjoyed seeing all your sketchbooks! My favorite sketches were the one at 8:45, where you're waiting for the ferry to Santorini. Love the muted color palette but bright orange lifesaver and the red pencil! I also really love the composition and umbrella details at the drawing on 13:02, as well as the ancient pots in pencil after. So inspiring, thank you for sharing!

I have to say the length of the video is incorrect it is not 16 minutes and 17 seconds it was more like 40 minutes. The amount of rewinding and pausing and staring I did at your fantastically amazing artworks. You are such an inspiring person thank you so much for sharing your beautiful art. I was thinking to myself I have never travelled overseas and I am in my 50s and if I ever did I would have gone on that trip with you. Thanks so very much Koosje 🏝🎨👍☀️✍️
