The crayon under the watercolour is great. I’m going to try that. You make it look deceptively easy but your sense of design and colour together with your artist’s eye produce wonderful sketches. Thankyou for the inspirition I always feel when I watch your videos Koojse. ❤️🙏🎨🐋🐓🐕🐇🐀🐈🌲🦉
This was a fun and timely video. Our backyard is quite lush with many varieties of green. Lots of overgrown trees and shrubs, ferns, lillies and ground cover. I've made a few sketches in the last two weeks and using wax crayons as part of the process does create some fun effects. So far, I've usually first begun with a rough sketch using an H pencil but I think I'm going to do my next one (I've already picked out the view that I want) using a black brush pen. Thanks for the continued inspiration, Koosje!
Thank you, Koosje!! Thank you for showing your ways of working and playing and thank you for inspiring and sharing! Oh and how great is WindowSwap?!! Feels like a drawing holiday. Yay!
I love the idea of putting in the darks with the black brush pen, then adding the greens over. I just put my Pentel brush pen back in my sketch bag.. thanks!
Hahaha! I saw your window drawing from the other video before watching this one and knowing you live in the Netherlands, I thought: oh! This looks so much like my place! Does Netherlands also have this type of neighborhoods? And then you show us that this window view is from Canada! live in Montreal but that could be either on the Montreal’s island or in one of its banlieues. That is funny! I am so thankful I found you from the Sketchbook Skool. I enjoy watching your videos. You are inspiring. I find that sketching even for 10 or 20 minutes a day is the light of my day. Thank you and have a great weekend! Salutations de Montréal.
Loving this, loose and lively work. I have been following you for a couple of years and your videos are always inspiring. Loving tbe plants left white in the foreground. Many thanks for sharing your skill and knowledge.
This looks like a fun sketch. I really enjoyed how you worked your way from the basic shapes to shadows and lights to build the image. Also I didn't realise it was a video at the end and thought it was a photo until the bicyclists came into the frame :D Fun surprise. Thank you so much for this wonderful video!
Lovely and vibrant sketch. I'm loving being immersed in greens too. It's wonderful at the moment and have used it as inspiration, but this serves as extra motivation to mix it up and paint even more. Thank you!
Hello Koosje, I’m really enjoying your videos. Could you tell me what brush pen you are using. It seems to have very fine lines and thick. Thank you. Great video
Hi Kosha. I have only recently subscribed but long enough to have enjoyed plenty of your DTTs. I don't usually do urban sketching but I would like to journal my upcoming vacations. Your vids are a great help and teach me to have a much more relaxed approach. I really enjoyed this one and the other you made on forgetting perspective. Will you keep on posting during the summer months?
When traveling, there is nothing better tan to record your memories and experiences visually in your sketchbook! It's your best travel companion. I'll be posting when I can, so yes, also during summer!
I just felt like I needed to comment my mistake, about a mistake that I did while I was so focused on my drawing.. I was just drawing the trees like you were when I noticed that you left some of the trees so that you can water colour to show that they were trees,… And I just drew them… 😐. But mistakes happen and I guess if I water colour over it, It will look better? There’s no harm in trying! Just felt like I needed to write this!
more than madness this art is humanity at its core
Green inspired! Thankyou❤
Thank you for the great idea--sketching WindowSwap is awesome!
Sketching is so relaxing when it is just loose and playful like this. Thanks.

Salutations de Montréal.
Love the looseness of your process for this one. Turned out great! And thanks for always mentioning your tools by brand name.
Great effects with Neos I and watercolour! Definitely I will try this duo

It’s a Pentel waterbrush. Materials are listed below the video.

I am so sorry I mispelled your name 😱
That's OK - at least you spelled it phonetically correct :)
