It was Martin’s birthday and he was licking his cake however Lenny the Airedale wanted to lick also. Well Lenny always wants to have something Martin has. As you see there are many treats on the table.

Had a female Welsh who was just like this... Very alpha and she would take over the dog park when we went.. Took away toys from LARGE Rotts and Pit Bulls...... Growled at them and they would back away.... LOL .. Then she ran all of the dogs out of the wading pool..... She was a toughie

I just wonder if that’s a good idea to encourage such behavior between the two. I’m no dog trainer but seems like a bad idea to me.

I know some dogs fight for food and become competitive. But mine NEVER fight for food. They just growl. That’s all. Each dog has different behavior and personalities. If mine are competitive for food, I wouldn’t. I know them well because I’m their owner.

They are precious and they both have unique personalities for their breed. The dynamics of their relationship is very loving. Martin is showing Lenny that this is his cake. Lenny is actually respecting that but whining cause he wants some. His licking his lips is him not just wanting cake but he’s nervous about overextending himself. They get along as equals which is rare for any terrier regardless of size. They don’t see size they see moxie and they all have that. Lenny cries for lost neighbor friends that’s not terrier typical. It is even more rare for same sex terriers to get along. These two are one of a kind unique creatures. I love them. Watching them is joyful.
