Very nice video👍 Definitely my favorite American sports car of the 90s. This car was simply meant to usher in a new beginning for Plymouth. The Prowler was intended to be the flagship of the brand, to be followed by other retro models such as the PT Cruiser, Panel Cruiser and others. Thanks for sharing the video.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah, heard the PT Cruiser was also meant to be a Plymouth at first, and honestly, I'd totally dig it if the retro-modernistic design could take root in the Plymouth line-up!
@@RedLine_Car_Show You're very welcome. Yes, everyone has an opinion on that. I'm a big fan of Tom Gale and his vision of hot rodding. The reason for these changes was that the car dealers themselves also wanted a change. It can be said that they sold identical models - Cirrus, Stratus, Breeze or Dodge and Plymouth Neon. Why? Every brand should have its own focus. Hot rodding is a huge cult and only Plymouth had the balls to build production hot rods for the masses of customers.
@@plymouthdie-castreplicas Well said! It's still mind boggling to me how back in early 2000's car manufacturers could even build something like that, my upcoming video is gonna be about a car similar to the Prowler in terms of creativity, but made by GM, stay tuned! 😄
Bought a black 2000. I love it! It's different and unique. Not like the hundreds of thousands of corvettes, mustangs, cameros, challengers etc.. I removed the front and rear bumpers and have a aftermarket hardtop. I will be buried in this car. I could care less what anyone else thinks, I bought it for me, not others. It's so fun to drive, the only bad part is it's difficult to get in and out of.
Thanks for sharing! Interesting mods, I can definitely get behind the bumper removal, it looks kinda ugly☹️ And I totally agree, Prowler really does stand out among the other USDM sports cars, and there will be no other car quite like the Prowler, given where the car industry is headed right now😢
Interesting to see Chip Foose on Jay Leno's garage and hear how his Hemisfear designs and scale model played a part in the concept. For years I wondered if was a Foose design (without having done any research) had any influence and it just so happened he was on the show in 2024.

It's an amazing looking machine
I can't agree more, 2 decades later, they only look better!💯

Yep, Chip Foose played a major role in the design, back when he was still a student, too!
I own a 2001 Silver Prowler & I love it. I plan to put a hellcat engine in it at some point
Sounds awesome! A supercharged V8 is the only piece this car lacks😄
that would be a mistake unless you beef up the suspension and drivetrain@@RedLine_Car_Show
Sort-of hot rod-looking car.
The only way
Where can I get after market rim's 🤔 nobody seems to have them 😢
Must be really hard to find em, given the size difference between the front and rear wheels, best of luck mate!
