The cars that got me into cars. I was 8 when I first saw a Prowler just like this one, and a Viper GTS (blue with white go faster stripes). I've been loving cars ever since.
I also have a 1993 Viper and 1999 Prowler and couldn’t agree with you more-they are so much fun and get cooler the older they get. I was 10 when the Prowler came out and remember how insane it was. To learn that it drives as well as it looks was a great surprise. Great video!
Great feature Paul, 2 real iconic 90's cars as you say ! The styling of the Prowler though does it for me everytime, just a shame they couldn't afford a bespoke interior with a manual V8 - now that would have been a car !!
We love our Prowler!! As we have gotten into a world of 3.0 second 0-60 times out of suvs its fun to just have something that gets and gives smiles. Also, it drives like a waffle ball.
Excellent video thanks. Of the two the Prowler would be my choice - I love highboy style "Deuce" hot rods and the Prowler definitely has that vibe in a modern interpretation. BTW the Lotus 340R is another great example of a concept car that made it to the showroom both quickly and on a small budget, although it did reuse a lot of what had already made the Elise such a fantastic car while dispensing with all those heavy and expensive to develop little luxuries like HVAC, a roof and even doors.
Beautiful cinematography. Also it's great how you appreciate the cars for what they are. Most reviews are just critiques- yours was inspiring! These are two of my favorite cars of the period. Really great seeing them compared.
I have the gen 1 viper, just waiting for the right time to get the prowler. You got the right color for both. Really enjoyed your video. Your comments on the viper were spot on.
Perfect video! Love the cars. I actually want the Prowler over the viper… I have childhood friends that have Vipers and one has a Prowler and we all agree that the Prowler is a rolling car show everywhere you go! BUT King Kong of the streets is the Viper
Great job on the video! What more can one ask for on a Dodge Viper or a Plymouth Prowler. I have the 1999 Prowler in red and we enjoy that vehicle very much. It certainly is a looker.
Great to see 2 US cars on "our" roads. Great presenting and what a lucky lad you are Paul. I was a teenager when these came out and I had models of both. There was a great clamour to see the Viper as everyone knew it as the "new" Cobra. Alot of the truck engine myth went with it , and sadly it and the GTS coupe version were sort of saddled with the Footballers Wives image. I think the test press car had the reg WOW HOT which perhaps was a bit naff, and not really as you have shown for both what they actually were. The Prowler much rarer here but both are lovely cars. They were part of a USA sales drive where here the Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee made a big impression. My dad bought a new L reg Wrangler , which I insisted on having with the high power straight six engine shared with the Cherokee. The car was fine round town, similar to a V8 defender , most amusing at the lights, esp when revved as the entire car wobbled! The best bit was in the snow however where it was absolutely unstoppable. The downside was the mpg (tho no worse than the puny 4cyl 2.5 version) and refinement on the motorway above 60. I think on a nice day it might do 110, 15 maybe! Great video, the viper and prowler can happily join the fancy lotus engineered Corvette ZR1, the Syclones and the F150 lightening as being icons. Great video , more please. It's just such a shame that none are RHD though isn't it. Best wishes, Ben
The Prowler was designed by Chip Foose as end of term thesis, car design, but it had a tray out back. But Chrysler didn't want a pick up after watching the failure of the SSR(which l actually like)

Two of my all-time favorite cars 😍🥰🤤

Great video and some great presenting, more of this please!

Another one of my favourites!

Clarkson loved the Viper

This video deserves much more 👍

Bit tight at times, huh? 😂
Cool to see these two crazy yank cars in the UK! Awesome video!!
Thank you!
No front number plate on the Viper ? Is that standard ?
It fell off at 60mph, officer 😬
@@ProMotivUKahh !
6:00 The Porsche 918 is not a V-10 it's a V8
Quite right. Meant CGT and got my model codes mixed up 😂

Tom Gale is The Designer of The Viper & Prowler Not Mr.Foose. he admitted he was not the original designer.
Very well presented! Thank you Paul!
And...a Prowler in shiny silver is what Flash Gordon would drive.
So true! And thank you.
ah america had a tvr after all
Not putting a V-8 [or 10] in the Prowler is what killed it.
If you Purchase a Chrysler Crossfire and you’ll have the best concept to dealer cars they’ve made in the past 30 years!
Suzuki Cappuccino on steroids. 😉
0-60 in 5,7 = fast car
Good stuff!
